I just removed this amplifier from its original cabinet. I have rebuilt, hundreds of Leslie amps. I use premium parts, solid-state relays, and discrete electrolytic’s. Every single passive component has been replaced in this amp and it has been thoroughly tested. The hammered finish is beautiful with a few rusty spots on the back. This does not include tubes. Please watch the video to hear this in action.
1960 Knight-Kit Allied 20watt home stereo amplifier. I have installed a new main power filter cap. No other maintenance performed. One channel is weaker than the other. May be a bad tube or coupling capacitor. The 12AX7′s check good. Amp plays well, however, it should be considered a project.
Here we have a pair Philips tweeter speaker, made around 1959 by Philips, Hamburg plant, West-Germany. These bakelit horn drivers have phenolic membranes and 8 Ohm impedance. The Pout is around 12 Watt from my papers. These were fit in aluminium horns at that time. I have more pairs of these Philips in stock. (last pictures shows my stock). The Magnets are type cross AlNico. Perfect for any low power single ended tube amp.
It’s been in storage for a long time but still works well. I removed the cover, dusted it off and did a quick clean. I was able to connect the speakers and get some sound. All the knobs work and there are some scratches on the front and case. Please check the pictures carefully before purchasing.
