1965 Gretsch 6159 Guitar/Bass Vintage Tube Amp Valco Supro Made in the USA
Up for sale is this vintage Gretsch 6159 tube amp. The amp was made in 1965 by Valco. It is all original with 2 Jensen 12 speakers (both dating to 1965) and it still has the 2 prong power cable. Don’t let the “bass amp” logo fool you. These amps were made with the intention of them being used for bass, guitar, and/or accordion. I have been using the amp for guitar and it sounds amazing! It currently has Groove tube power tubes and all of the other tubes are RCA. It has an incredible tremolo that I would compare to that of a Magnatone. I prefer this tremolo over any other new or vintage Fender amp I’ve tried. The tremolo is very smooth with nice depth to it. Overall, the amp is in very good condition, especially considering it is over 50 years old. There are some marks in the tolex, a few stains and small snags in the grill cloth, and some oxidation on the chrome parts. It is rare to find one of these in all original condition and in this good of shape. Most of the examples I’ve come across have 1 or both grill cloth badges broken and have undergone modifications. Don’t miss your chance to own this amazing vintage amp! Please feel free to ask any questions or make an offer!
