Vintage Tube Amp

Up for sale is a simply AMAZING amp by Gibson…. Nevermind the terrific cosmetic shape that this amp is in (see condition description), this powerful little box just SOUNDS stupendous! We have a few of these vintage Gibson amps in our store at the moment, including a “holy grail” type GA50T as well as 2 different GA40RV models. BOTH sound excellent and are worth the price of admission. But THIS model, the GA-5, has got to be my favorite out of the lot! Not sure if all of the GA-5 Skylarks sound this good, but this particular unit just plays, feels and sounds SPECTACULAR! Simple operation, 2 inputs, 1 volume knob and 1 tone knob! Keep the volume low up until around 6 to 6 1/2 depending on your guitar, and you get this lovely clean and bright sonic experience that is very reminiscent of a Vox… With the jangle increasing as the volume increases. Also makes this amp a great platform for your outboard effects! Lovely edge of breakup tube sound as you hit about 5 1/2 to 6 1/2! Seems to my ears like an exquisite mix of the overdrive on a Vox and a Fender Tweed amp! With the volume from about 8 to max, and this thing SCREAMS in a great way!!! Better than the overdrive from those newer 5 watt lunchbox size amps that have been coming out the past decade or so. When this amp overdrives, it is SO SMOOTH. No speaker rattle or weird sonic remnants. And as with all great tube amps, you can keep her loud, then turn down your volume knob to clean up your signal NICELY! This is just an absolute GEM of an underrated amp by Gibson. Get a more unique piece for your rig whose sound can go toe to toe with the best of them!
