Rare Early Vintage Mcintosh MC 275 Stereo Tube Amplifier # 178E1 (325th made!)
I present you one of the best known tube amplifier from my personal collection, the original Mcintosh MC275. This unit is highly collectible since it’s one of the first one ever built in 1961. The MC275 really does not need introduction. It’s the iconic piece of the golden age of stereo hi fi, while still hold its own with the modern gear. It’s one of a few legendary unit that is still in production today. This MC275 has the serial number of 178E1, making it effectively the 325th of the production line. One of the very first unit ever built that still survive to this day. A true piece of audio history that stand the test of time, and still in excellent condition. So here is your chance to own this early MC275 unmolested with all original components (as show in pictures, please study them carefully and judge for yourself). Quad of Winged C 6550. Mixed of vintage telefunken and sylvania driver tubes (more detail can provide upon requested). > All tubes tested strong on my calibrated TV/7U. I only rotated the 275 a few time through my system. While it sound amazing, and play great, the left channel occasionally has a dip in volume. Given its age, and in the original condition that it’s in, it should be service before long term used. The vintage MC275 are getting harder to find now, and I doubt you can find another one as early as this unit available for sale. Especially not in the excellent condition that it is in, physically it’s in near mint shape with only some lettering faded on the back panel. The chassis is clean, with no visible rust. The cage is solid with no dent or rust either. It’s a time capsule for sure. It matches well with Altec, Tannoy, Klipsch, but have no issue driving my Infinity Kappa 9 or B&W either (I did only tested it for a few song since I don’t want to push the tubes too hard). I have a video of it in action if you want to see it. What you see is what you get, there is no other accessories include in the sale. Pictures are of the actual amplifier, please study it carefully and judge the condition for yourself. While I tried my best to describe this amplifier, my description is my opinion only. If you have any question, concern, need more information then please let me know. Capacitor and other components at this age can fail at any time. With this in mind, and for this reason there will be no return accept unless item not as shown/pictured. This is a used stereo receiver in working condition. However due to the nature of vintage electronic, and the few fraudulent buyers out there. With no guarantee of its full function when it arrives to you. Vintage electronics contain 20-50 years old parts (belts, rubber parts, caps, etc) that while still work at the time I tested the unit, can fail at any given time. It can be a few weeks, few months, or I have units in my collection that still going strong after 5 years since I acquired them. Service is recommend before long term use for longevity. As long as the unit come back to me in the same condition it left. Please note that I leave a tampering proof on these unit, that will not effect its function, but will tell me if the unit has been open in anyway. If you want to return please do not open or mess with the unit in anyway. It will be very well packed (double box is available upon requested) and fully insured. Please check my 100% feedback on safe packing. In small chance it get damaged during transit, please take plenty of pictures and contact me before opening up the package.
