1969 Fender Bassman Silverface Drip Edge Tube Head Amplifier – Vintage. Here is an early example of a Fender Bassman Silverface Drip Edge. This Fender Bassman exhibits some minor cosmetic wear and small scratches on the faceplate but is in good condition overall. There is not a lot of wear on the Tolex like other heads of this age you see on the market. The Fender Bassman is fully functional and operates as intended. The previous owner swapped the original filter caps with 22uf 500v as well as giving it a complete set of new GT tubes. We put this amp through its paces and it sounds great and offers a ton of clean headroom! The amp has a gorgeous “bubbly” tone at it’s lower volumes but when it’s pushed, the richness begins to thicken up without getting too “fizzy”. At high volumes, a transparent overdriven tone is introduced that is great for those creamy, soloing leads. The amplifier was built with bass players in mind but is also a great head for guitar players as well, especially ones with lots of effect pedals. The item pictured is the one you will be receiving.
