Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Bassman head in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This clean and well maintained vintage Fender head has transitional “drip edge” aluminum trim and an early Silverface faceplate, as well as the AA568 circuit. Recently retubed and biased with a pair of Sovtek 6L6 power tubes, this amp has a clear, powerful Fender tone that’s ideal for use with guitar or bass. The perfect platform for players who use a variety of pedals, the Bassman delivers a robust and dynamic tone, and after around 5 on the Volume dial the amp starts to push into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive. The circuit features original Schumacher transformers that both date to 1968, along with original CTS pots which also date to’68. The circuit features a professional recap of the power supply, as well as a new bias capacitor and a couple new caps and resistors in the preamp to ensure everything is operating within original factory spec. An additional knob was at one time added to the faceplate and subsequently removed, filled with a clean chrome plug. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The chassis itself is quite clean, with a stunning silverface faceplate, turquoise lettering, and original black witch hat knobs. The original tube chart is also present inside the head cabinet, with only the light wear on the top left edge. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact and in great shape, and the stock aluminum trim is present as well. The stock corners, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact, while the piggyback clip bars are no longer present. Cosmetically, there is very little wear to report, with a few tiny scratches near the input jacks and a light scuff or two on the enclosure, but as the photos show, this is an extremely clean and well cared for vintage Fender Bassman head! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Vintage 1968 Fender Princeton AA964 Drip Edge/Black Line Tube Amp (Non Reverb)

Up for sale is this vintage Fender Princeton non-reverb, which is a good example of the transitional “drip edge/black line” model found in limited numbers during the late 60s. These models are highly sought after as they contain the same circuitry as its black face predecessor, as well as many unique cosmetic markings, which are only found during this transitional period. This particular Princeton Non-Reverb features the following. · Drip Edge the aluminum trim framing around the grill cloth. · Black Line – Note the thin vertical black lines on the faceplate This denotes a Princeton Amp which retains the same circuitry as its Blackface predecessor. · Tail-less logo – this logo was used on a limited number of Fender Amps during the above-mentioned transition period. These logos can be distinguished from later tail-less logos (post 1973) by their smaller size, plastic composition, and no serial number on the back. · Vertical blue stripes added to the grill cloth Grill cloth. Additionally, this is the Non-reverb model which is known for having cleaner headroom, as the lack of the reverb effect introduces less gain into the circuit, allowing the amp to be clearer and punchier, with a sound that has sparkle and chime indicative of the Blackface line and perfect for recording situations. · Model # AA964. · Serial # A 10601. · Ink stamp on inside of Chassis: T89 1268. · Black Transformer: 290 AX JS1867 – 3711 (see pictures). · Gold Transformer: 8316720 May 1967 made by Better Coil & Transformer. · The visible codes on the original CTS pots date to the 42nd week of 66. · The Speaker is a CTS with a code of 137 7220. The condition of this rare Non-Reverb model can be seen throughout the pictures, and it is in excellent working order. It has recently been serviced by local technician referred by Guitar Emporium in Louisville KY. Note: I have researched this amp as thoroughly as possible and have described it as accurately as possible. I will pack the amp as safe as possible and will use thick cardboard with foam & bubble wrap to ensure that it arrives to you safely. 1969 Fender Pro Reverb Drip Edge Vintage Tube Amp 2x12 with Blackface Circuit

Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, freshly recapped and retubed. A transitional model with “drip edge” aluminum trim and Silverface cosmetics, this amp still retains the same AA165 circuitry as its Blackface predecessor, as well as being one of the last Pros to retain the screwed-in baffle, a tonally impactful feature phased out by’70. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Blackface cleans and smooth, touch-sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. The tube-driven Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension, and the Tremolo has a strong, smooth pulse and wide range of speeds. The circuit has just been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and the preamp is loaded with low-noise metal film resistors, original brown molded capacitors, and modern Sprague electrolytics. All of the stock CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes from 1967-68. The original power and output transformers are intact, along with the original choke, all manufactured by Schumacher and dating between mid-1968 and early’69. The small reverb transformer is a modern replacement. The power supply has been freshly recapped with Sprague Atoms, and a modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The tube compliment includes a pair of JJ 6L6 power tubes, along with a JJ GZ34 rectifier, and an assortment of mostly JJ valves in the preamp as well. The speakers are the original pair of Utah-made and Fender-branded 12 ceramic drivers with matching date codes from the 47th week of’68. The original speaker harness is intact too, as is the tube chart. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe is intact, and the tolex is extremely clean, while the grillcloth shows modest, uniform aging. The stock hardware includes the original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners, handle, and sphinx glides (feet). 1968 Fender Princeton Reverb Drip Edge Vintage Tube Amp with Blackface Circuit

Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Princeton Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. A transitional “drip edge/black line” example, this amp features a set of unique cosmetic cues including a small tail-less Fender logo, aluminum trim framing the grillcloth, and thin vertical black lines on the early Silverface faceplate, denoting a Princeton Reverb which retains the same circuitry and components as its Blackface era predecessor. Freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, the Princeton Reverb is the perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions. This classic Fender AA764 Blackface circuit delivers both well-balanced, sparkling cleans and smooth, harmonic-rich overdrive when you dime it out. The Reverb is extremely lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds. The circuit retains the original pair of transformers manufactured for Fender by Better Coil & Transformer, dating between late 1967 and the first weeks of’68. The preamp boasts most of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps (an essential part of the Blackface sound), along with a few replacement caps, smaller top shelf Sprague electrolytics, and low-noise metal film resistors. The larger multi-section can cap in the power supply has also been recently replaced to ensure trouble-free performance, and the power cable has been upgraded to the modern three-prong variety. All of the original pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 2nd week of’68. The tubes consist of a matched pair of JJ 6V6s with an JJ GZ34 rectifier and a bevy of modern and vintage valves in the preamp. The speaker is the original Oxford 10J4 with a black frame and blue foil Fender label on the magnet. The speaker retains the original speaker harness as well, complete with the original speaker jack with Fender “F” cap. The tube chart is mostly intact and quite aged, with some tape on the edges. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact, with a few bald corners on the otherwise very clean tolex, and light, uniform aging of the grill. The original faceplate shows a speckling of light wear with a full compliment of witch hat knobs, and the hardware includes original chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and small raised Fender tail-less logo. This vintage Princeton Reverb works exactly as it should, sounds great, and is ready for another 50 years of use. The amp comes complete with the original black two-button footswitch to engage the Reverb and Vibrato effects. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Vintage'69 Fender Twin Reverb Tube Guitar Amp Jbl D120f Blackface Mod Drip Edge

This is a VINTAGE 1969 DRIP EDGE FENDER TWIN REVERB TUBE GUITAR AMP with ORIGINAL JBL D120F SPEAKERS. IT WAS RECENTLY MODDED TO BLACKFACE SPECS. It is complete and functions properly. Controls and inputs have been cleaned, no scratchy pots. Completely serviced, everything works as it should. The cabinet covering and grill show wear. This is a solid, road worthy beast. Channel 1 controls are volume, treble, middle, bass, bright switch. Channel 2 controls are volume, bass, mid, treble, reverb, speed, intensity, bright switch. Original faceplate, knobs, footswitch, grill cloth, tolex, drip edge trim, hardware, speakers, paperwork, transformers, etc. Original power cord, but replaced plug. Made in the U. The tube chart has this as a AB763 circuit but it was actually a AC568 model, as confirmed by the schematic and my amp tech. Take note of the multi voltage selector switch on the back. The factory addition of a multi-voltage power transformer makes for a very rare model indeed. But notice the selector knob is missing. Set at (American standard) 117 volt, 60 cycle. Transformer codes are as follows… 022889 606915, 022699 606-9-12, 022746 606917. Not all the potentiometer codes are legible, but here is a list of the ones I can read… 137 6834, 137 6618, 137 6913, 137 6840, 137 6916. All the codes are correct for this vintage and components are assumed to be original. The supply cap pan has service dates… The smaller nine pin tubes include 2 made in the USA, all others are imports. It has a matched quad of Sovtek 6L6GC power tubes. The speakers are original to the amplifier. They have most likely been re-coned, as they no longer have the aluminum dust caps. Aesthetically this may be a concern for some, but audibly it is an improvement; eliminates a bit of the bright JBL sizzle and provides a slightly darker blackface tone. Deep and rich, just as it should be. The’JBL’ logo on the lower right grill is a replacement. This began life with an AC568 bias section. I have owned this amp for 8-12 years. I have many nice tube amps, but play mostly acoustic guitar. I have a friend (certified Fender & Peavey amp tech) who has serviced many of my amps over the years. When I took this amp to have serviced, he suggested I blackface this amp since it was too similar to my other. It was a great idea and although this amp sounds better than the 1970, I really do not need two Twins. I hate to see it go. IT IS AN AWESOME AMPLIFIER. Arguably the best amplifier Leo Fender ever designed. This LOUD, CLASSIC, TONE MONSTER is ready to give it’s next owner joy and pleasure. (and possible hearing loss). That is a bargain. This item is heavy and will require extra time and care to package. I never use UPS. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hour recently and it did not fail, smoke, blow fuses, etc. Typically easy and inexpensive to maintain, you should be aware, old electronic require maintenance. Old electronic can fail at any time. We will work through the claim together until things are right. 1968 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Drip Edge Vintage Tube Amp with Blackface Circuit

Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Vibrolux Reverb, in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, just given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. A very early transitional example with “drip edge” aluminum trim, this Vibrolux Reverb is a variation made only for a few short months in early’68 which still retains identical circuitry and component values to its Blackface predecessor, including blue Ajax tone caps and cloth-covered wire. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has smooth attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube reverb and punchy tremolo. This Vibrolux has been serviced to balance originality and functionality, boasting a recap of the power supply and a modern three-prong power cable. The original Schumacher-made power and output transformers are intact and date to’68, and the original choke and reverb transformer are present too. The preamp features many of the original blue Ajax caps, with a few Sprague Orange Drops and smaller electrolytics installed as needed to ensure reliable, consistent performance in-line with factory spec. The original Oxford 10 10L5 speakers sound fantastic, with clean black frames and Fender foil stickers on the ceramic magnets. The tube chart is fully intact with crisp corners, noting the AA864 circuit. The pair of Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes sound wonderful and are optimally biased, and the preamp tubes are a matched compliment of modern Electro Harmonix-branded valves. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with blue stripe are stunningly clean. The grill is framed by the distinctive “drip edge” aluminum trim, and the faceplate is incredibly well-kept with all of the original witch hat knobs. The hardware includes the raised Fender logo with tail, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet). A vintage Fender two-button footswitch is included, along with an amp cover from the 1970s. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Bassman head with accompanying tall 2×12 speaker cabinet in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This fully serviced vintage Fender head has transitional “drip edge” aluminum trim and an early Silverface faceplate. Recently retubed and biased with a pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, the circuit has been “Blackfaced” and reverted to the original and most revered AA864 design. The amp has a clear, powerful Fender tone that’s ideal for use with guitar or bass. The perfect platform for players who use a variety of pedals, the Bassman delivers a robust and dynamic tone, and after around 5 on the Volume dial the amp starts to push into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive. The circuit features the original power transformer and choke produced by Fender’s primary vintage transformer supplier, Schumacher, while the output transformer is a vintage-spec replacement, also Fender-branded and produced by Schumacher. The circuit features a professional recap of the power supply with new Sprague Atoms, as well as a new bias capacitor and a few new caps in the preamp to ensure everything is operating within original factory spec. All of the original CTS pots are intact, dating as far back as early’68. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The chassis itself is quite clean, with a stunning Silverface faceplate, turquoise lettering, and original black witch hat knobs. The original tube chart is also present inside the head cabinet. The cabinet is loaded with the original pair of Utah-made Fender-branded speakers with immaculate black frames, original cones, and clean orange and silver foil labels on the ceramic magnets. The cab is 100% stock and sounds great, perfectly amplifying the bold, round cleans and smooth drive of the Blackfaced AA864 Bassman circuit. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact on the head as well. The stock corners, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact. The piggyback clip bars are present too, but do not connect to this vertical cab configuration. Cosmetically, the head and cab show some minor scuffs and edge wear, but as the photos can attest, this vintage Fender presents very well. Freshly retubed and recapped and reverted to the coveted AA864 Bassman circuit, this vintage Bassman head and 2×12 cab delivers the goods in an imposing, gig-worthy package.
