Up for sale, a 1974 Fender Pro Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Providing the general tonal character of a Twin Reverb, but boasting a tube rectifier and more manageable 40 watts of power, the Pro Reverb is a 2×12 amplifier with enough volume for large ensemble situations and the perfect balance between shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, touch sensitive overdrive. A great platform for effects pedals too, the cleans on this Pro are balanced, clear, and warm. Of course once you reach around 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly, and you get that dynamic, glassy sound that adds just the right amount of grit to your tone. Very original and well maintained, this Pro Reverb is ready for stage and studio use! The circuit is very original and recently serviced, with the original power and output transformers which date to’74. The choke is original as well, while the reverb transformer is a modern factory-spec replacement. The stock CTS pots are all intact as well, dating to the 40th week of’74. The amp retains the majority of the original blue molded capacitors in the preamp, with a couple new Sprague Orange Drops to keep everything operating within original factory spec, and the amp boasts a complete recap of the main filter caps and smaller bypass caps, all with top notch components, along with a modern three-prong power cable. The speakers are the original pair, manufactured by Utah and featuring clean silver and orange labels on the ceramic magnets. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is intact and in great shape, showing only light wear and still looking surprisingly clean after 45 years. The cloth has minimal aging, and the tolex shows only some light wear on the edges of the enclosure. The stock hardware is in great shape as well including original tilt back legs, chassis straps, corners and handle. This Pro Reverb is a very original and well maintained circuit, and sounds every bit as good as a vintage Fender should!
