100% working, just had it tested and serviced. Very clean condition, aside from mismatched output tubes my tech says it has no issues, easy enough to switch out if you choose to.
Up for sale, a 1979 Fender Champ in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Thoroughly serviced, this Champ delivers a tone with chiming and dynamic cleans that give way to sizzling overdrive as you turn up the Volume knob. It’s a perfect pint-sized Class A amplifier for studio use, and with a microphone in front of it, this amp can sound like a giant. It’s hard to beat the Champ for simplicity and tonal purity. The original Schumacher transformers are intact, dating between the 48th week of’75 (output) and the 21st week of’79 (power). The circuit retains the original blue molded caps in the preamp, with a couple modern smaller electrolytics. The power supply has also been rebuilt inside the chassis, with the original large can cap retained. The stock CTS pots have visible date codes from the 20th week of’77. The tubes include a JAN/Phillips 5Y3 rectifier, General Electric 6V6, and a 12AX7 preamp tube with no visible markings. The original ceramic magnet Oxford 8 speaker is intact, dating to the 26th week of’79. The tube chart is present inside the cabinet too. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with light blue stripe is intact and quite well-kept. Both back panels are original, and all of the original hardware is accounted for as well, including the raised Fender logo, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, corners, and handle caps. The brushed aluminum faceplate retains the original witch hat knobs.

When new, this amplifier was built from a kit. I found the ad (photo #9) in an Allied Radio catalog for 1958. In those days phonographs and even FM tuners were monophonic. So this amp has just one channel. Your signal source can be mike, tape deck, or phonograph. Many choices of input and equalization are available. Output to one hi-fi speaker with impedence of 4, 8, or 16 ohms. For the demo video an RCA 45 changer is shown, but only the amplifier is for sale. The amp has 6 tubes and the clean output power is 18 watts RMS. Photo #13 shows the tape out jack and access hole for V1 on the bottom. #11 input jacks; #12 speaker terminals.
My great Uncle was in the recording industry and often received gifts from other artist. He loved gifting my Father with stereos and record players. My Father recently had this Fisher 500 C serviced by one of the best HI-FI service/repairmen in NJ EBC Electronics. Pictures show all functions, tubes and burn in no smoke just tubing. The Fisher 500-C features a full function pre-amplifier section with twin phono inputs, auxiliary input, monitor input and tape input (for direct connection to the tape head). The Tuner section features a multiplex FM system with mono and stereo options. Power output: 30 watts per channel into 8? (stereo). Frequency response: 25Hz to 25kHz. Total harmonic distortion: 0.7%. Input sensitivity: 3.3mV (MM), 450mV (DIN), 230mV (line). Signal to noise ratio: 80dB (line). Channel separation: 50dB (line).
This wasn’t serviced as it seems to be working just fine. Without even using an external antennae the unit pulled in local stations. The cat’s eye tube is working and is very cool.
Here we have an amazing and LOUD bogen challenger 75 watt tube amplifier. It’s been treated to all new electrolytic and coupling capacitors replaced with quality film capacitors. Out of spec resistors replaced.
