Vintage Tube Amp

Has been tested and works great, very loud. The main cable going from the Tube Amp to the Tone Generator is a little finicky, but once you dial it in, sounds very nice. The 12AX7 tubes that are in the Tube Amp and the Mic section of the Tone Generator are all you need for the Guitar to work. If you want to play an accordion you will need the extra 12AX7 tubes that are missing from the Tone Generator. I also could not test the volume swell pedal as that requires the extra 12AX7 tubes as well. The Tone Generator comes with the original Cordovox Leather Covering. The 7591 Power Tubes are Hammond and the Amp 12AX7 tube is a Baldwin and the Tone Generator 12AX7 tubes are Electro Harmonix. You will need to plug the Tube Amp section into a speaker. I have labeled it accordingly. You also have the option of hooking up speakers to the exposed wires on the side of the amp as well. Vintage 50s Gibson BR-9 Tube Amp Amplifier With Jensen Speaker Excellent Condit. This an example of a perfect closet classic. This amp is from around 1956 as the Jensen field coil speaker is dated 1956. As the pictures show this amp was probably stashed in a closet for 50 years. It is completely original EXCEPT it has been professionally recapped using sprague and custom built capacitors and a 3 prong power cord has been added for safety. There is zero rust, zero corrosion, the wiring isn’t brittle or cracking and the solder joints are all original except as noted for recapping. There are a few few scuffs and small dings here and there but overall it’s in just amazing shape for a 65 year old amp. I think it’s eligible for medicare this year. This one has 2 6V6 power tubes, tube rectifier and preamp tube and I suspect they are all original also. The amp sounds wonderful to my ears. Clean and clear up to about 3/4 volume and then it starts to break up into a badass crunch. This amp has the serial number stamped into the chassis upside down so I suspect it was probably earmarked for another model like the BR-6. Gibson is famous for mixing and matching parts in the 50′s. This would be a great amp for studio, acoustic gigs or for that collector that seeks minty old gear. You have found a great condition 1959 Gibson GA-18 Explorer amp. This is a vintage, original GA-18, not the GA-18T, which was produced in 1960-61. The 1959 GA-18 had the 10 Jenson Special Design speaker, but otherwise the specs are the same. The listing includes the following original elements of the Explorer. Tweed and grill cloth. Normal wear shown for this vintage: staining and variation in the tweed, scuffs, etc. As shown in the images, the grill cloth has one broken thread and a small rash in one spot. These were there when I. This amp and I’ve not attempted a repair. Otherwise the grill cloth is fabulous and the Gibson badge is perfect. Jenson 10 speaker is. Dated 1st week of 1960. Foot switch in very good condition. All feet in place. What’s not original. A few replaced caps. A new 3 prong grounded cord has been installed for safety. A custom cover has been added, which is in new condition. Tubes of course have changed since. But vintage tubes are in the power section. The GA-18 has great tremolo and the pedal works as it should. This just sounds as fabulous as it looks. The GA-18 has the following tube types, and here’s how it’s currently populated. Two 12ax7 preamp tubes, (currently has Groovetubes GT12AX7M tubes). Two 6v6 power tubes (currently has Philips 6V6GTA tubes). One 5y3 rectifier tube. (currently has Magnavox 5Y3GT). If you would prefer a specific shipper the costs may be higher. All Sales Final.
