This was an estate sale find. I was on the hunt for a unit I could restore while I picked up bits and pieces of electronics knowledge. Well I decided the high voltages involved were perhaps not the kind of project for a neophyte. I have just been admiring this and a few others I collected and decided to pass them on. I took lots of pics of all the internals and externals so you will know exactly what you are instore for.
Listed as for parts or repairs. Powers on but overheats seriously. Smells like burnt when powered on. Comes with tubes and knobs. Please see detailed pictures.

This Scott 99-C is in fair cosmetic condition. The front panel has some slightly bent corners and is a little dirty, but should clean up nicely. The knobs appear to be original but are certainly worn. One of the transformer casings has paint flaked off and some surface rust in that area. The 6L6GC tubes are from Eastern Europe or China (not sure which), but the the rest are vintage American tubes. Someone has installed some newer capacitors under the chassis, but I don’t know who did that work or when it was done. The amp seems to be playing well and sounds good! Please keep in mind that the tubes have not been individually tested and we cannot guarantee their condition. This Vintage Untested Mono Integrated Tube Amplifier was made by Calbest of L. A CA, for High-Fidelity Unlimited. It does not come with tubes, but uses 1x 5y3 GT, 3x ECC83, 2x EL 84. The Model Number is 7615 and the Serial Number is A 151224. There seems to be a link between HFU and the Ampex Corp. In some of their consumer audio products. I have seen at least once, 2 exact stereo units, one branded HFU and one branded Ampex. All the controls and functions are shown in the photos. The case is solid wood (no pressed wood or plywood). There is one thing to note condition wise, the front wood section is cracked on the left side of the control panel. You can see this a Photo. It will not affect any function. I have another Tube amplifier, a Harman Kardon, also listed. Please look carefully at the pictures as they are an important part of the description. I desire to keep my feedback as high as possible.
