For sale is a single RCA MI 4288 tube PPP amplifier. This is the earlier version with UTC transformers. Each amplifier uses two 5U4 tubes, two 6C5 tubes, and four metal 6L6 tubes (most tubes are missing).

Other than the tubes and one of the power cord plugs, these pristine amps appear to be all original. All of the tubes recently tested strong and they are a combination of vintage RCA and vintage Sylvania brand tubes. All of the 5881 output tubes are vintage RCA matched tubes. As the photos show, these amps are extremely clean for their age, including all of the original potted transformers. You would have a hard time finding another pair of these late 1950′s tube amps in such clean and great sounding condition. These amps comes exactly as shown in the photos with all of the tubes shown. Own this pair of vintage Heathkit W4AM tube amps for a great price.
I bought these in 2005 to build a tube audio stereo system. That system did not get built and now these original A-7s are available. Heathkit amps of the postwar era are beautiful straightforward designs that produce amazingly warm audio. The A-7 uses a 5Y3 rectifier, a 12SN7/12SL7 driver, and 12A6 output tubes.
