Up for sale is a remarkably preserved piece of broadcasting history: a matching 1920s Westinghouse Type RA Receiving Tuner and Type DA Detector-Amplifier system. Originally designed by radio pioneer Frank Conrad, this early 100+ year-old battery set is a centerpiece item for any antique electronics collector or museum display. The black metal top panel is in exceptional condition with crisp, bright, highly legible stenciling. All knobs, dials, and binding posts feel mechanically smooth and adjust cleanly. Inclusions: Appears fully intact internally and includes an installed vintage vacuum tube. Also comes with an authentic, period-correct Cannonball Dixie single earphone. The original finished wood cabinet remains structurally sound and presents wonderfully. Note that the top leather carrying handle has broken off over the decades and is missing. Marshall Lead 12 Watt Combo Guitar Amplifier for parts or repair. The pots were scratchy and tried to pull off the knobs to clean them and one of the shafts from the pot came off. I never did clean the scratchy pots. The Marshall Lead 12 is a highly regarded 12 watt solid state amplifier produced between 1984 and 1991 as part of the JCM800 series. Despite its compact size and transistor-based design, it is famous for capturing the “Marshall growl” and iconic British overdrive usually associated with larger tube amps. Manufactured by Fender Musical Instruments in Fullerton, California, USA, this unit features the iconic script logo and classic Blackface-era aesthetic styling. Provenance & Servicing: This amplifier was a gift and the historical documentation or ownership records for the unit prior to this point is lost or unavailable. To ensure optimal performance and reliability for its next owner, the amplifier was recently refurbished. During this service, the circuit capacitors were repaired or replaced, the control pots were cleaned or replaced, and the unit was bench-tested to confirm it operates properly.
