Vintage Tube Amp

This is a Harman Kardon A300 Integrated Stereo Tube Amplifier. It uses 7408 Output tubes – a variant of a 6V6. All the tubes were tested on a Sencore TC154 emissions type, tube tester and passed. The testing included grid leakage and shorts. It works well now; I listened to an entire CD earlier today with no problems (distortion or red plating). It includes the owners manual (with the prior owners name on it) and a template for mounting this in a cabinet. It includes the top metal cover which is in very good shape (It looks more gray than green like the pictures show). The finish on the front face is “champagne gold”, but it is worn in some areas (like around the volume control knob and some other areas) and appears to be more silver than the champagne color. Zoom into the front face pictures. The output tubes all have a yellow “Harman Kardon” logo and appear to be original to the amplifier. The smaller tubes (4-12AX7′s and 1-12AU7) are not original to the amplifier (but have been tested and work as the should). This listing is for a vintage Harman Kardon tube integrated amplifier. It does have some mods that have been made. Soft start B+ switch added. Banana jacks added for speaker output. Tone Controls have been bypassed. Bias Circuit has been upgraded. Tape out has been changed to Main In. Wood base has been added to give more working room under the amp. It is set up to operate as a straight power amp with a volume control. Only the power amp has been tested and that works great. Included Tubes: 3X 12AU7 / 4X Sovtek 5881. Up for sale here is this vintage Harman Kardon Citation II tube amplifier. This is in fairly decent shape but does have some missing paint on the transformers, some light to moderate rust, and some overall moderate wear. The bottom cover is included, but there is no top cage, sorry. No tubes are included. The inside appears to have all the boards and parts, though I don’t know if it’s missing anything or not. The power cord is there but is frayed and should obviously be replaced. There is an ID number scratched above the rear meter, and the rear fuseholder is tucked inside the chassis for some reason. A proper rebuild on a Citation II involves replacing a TON of stuff, so realistically this isn’t that bad. You will probably want to completely disassemble this, sandblast and repaint the chassis and transformers, install new sockets, and do the full recap/rebuild. What you see is exactly what you get. I will guarantee the transformers to be good, but the rest of it is not guaranteed. Lease see my pictures for details. If you have any questions, please ask.
