Marshall head amplifier 1959SLP (100w). I bought a new one last year and used it several times. There is a scratch like peeling in the lower left (9th photo). The power tube has been replaced with an Electro-Harmonix EL34 quad match product (new), and the bias adjustment has been made. The pots have all been replaced with new ones, and they have a very nice sound without any noise. Two outlet jacks can be used on the rear. Up for sale, a 1972 Marshall JMP Tremolo 50 model 1987T in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with footswitch. One of the last point-to-point turret board 50 watt Marshalls in the small head box, this Tremolo 50 is outfitted with a matched pair of EL34 power tubes and delivers rich, textured British drive as only a Marshall can. There’s plenty of clean bite and headroom before pushing into sizzling overdrive, and the Tremolo 50 makes good on the promise of its model name with an additional 12AX7 preamp tube not found on your run-of-the-mill 50 watt, with Speed and Intensity controls to govern the chop and throb of the tremolo circuit. The circuit is very original and thoroughly serviced, with a bevy of vintage mustard tone caps in the preamp on the turret board, one of the last before Marshall switched to PCBs in’73. The original Drake transformers are intact, and the preamp and power supply has been recapped as needed to ensure optimal performance. The inspection tag on the chassis is dated 21-4-72. Both the original metal faceplate and back plate are intact, with all original knobs present and the tell-tale Polarity switch on the faceplate seen on Marshalls imported to the USA. This feature was phased out in the mid-70s and this switch is no longer active, given the modern three-prong power cable. The faceplate graphics are clean, and the head retains its original raised small Marshall badge and gold piping. The original handle is present too and the stock black tolex shows only light wear from the past nearly 50 years. A vintage metal wedge footswitch of the appropriate size and shape is included to engage the tremolo, fitted with a modern cable which has the correct four-pin input. If you want Plexi sound in a small package, this is your amp. Used lightly over the past 8 months. The pictures make the scuffs look worse than they really are (I honestly didn’t know they were there until I got it out to take pictures). 1998 Marshall 1987X MKII 50-Watt Plexi Guitar Amplifier in excellent overall condition. This Made in England plexi is built to last forever and it works perfectly with zero issues. It was recently serviced and sounds outstanding! It has a few very tasteful mods that were professionally done, including a PPMIV Master Volume, an optional push/pull Bright Cap mod on the Lead Volume, a common ground bus, and new main power tubes. Everything else is all original. The PPMIV Master Volume is located where the Presence knob normally is and allows for ultra high gain at bedroom levels. Since this 50-watt amp is so loud, the master volume is a welcome addition. The Presence knob has been moved to the rear. The push/pull Bright Cap is located at High Treble Loudness 1 and is completely disengaged when pushed in. When pushed out it adds extra brightness to the high frequencies resulting in extra gain and it sounds glorious. The common ground bus makes the amp completely silent and all volume levels and lowers for much more clarity in your sound. The original tolex is in good condition overall with a couple small tears and scuffs here and there but nothing major. The handle works perfectly. Marshall Vintage Reissues Sound Exactly Like the Original! Though the 50-watt Marshall 1987X shares the same front and rear panel features as its big brother, the 1959 SLP, it does have its own distinct personality. Sweet warm singing sounds are packed into every nook and cranny of this great tone machine. Mix two channels together for a totally unique sound. Vintage Marshall through and through. The main characteristic that these amps share is their simplicity of operation and superb natural valve tone. The result is pure, majestic tone uncluttered by unnecessary circuitry. This produces a big, round, warm, sustain, full of classic character. With chord work you get a bark and percussive attack with a natural sounding breakup, which allows each note to ring out in a glorious musical crunch. Mix two channels together for a totally unique sound With the Marshall 1987X, you can mix the two channels together by connecting a short, screened patch lead between the second input of channel one and the first input of channel two. If you then plug your guitar into the first input of channel one, you can mix the different tonal characters of each channel for greater flexibility! Vintage Marshall through and through As is the case with the 1959SLP, the 1987X has fittings and hardware as true to the originals as humanly possible, thus ensuring that authentic Marshall Vintage look. For sale is a vintage 1982 Marshall JCM800 Model 1992 Super Bass MKII 100 watt tube amplifier head. This is an amazing sounding amp. It delivers a warm, punchy clean tone for a surprisingly loud range, the typical gritty drive you expect from a Marshall when cranked. This is an early 80′s model with the sought after vertical inputs. This amp is in perfect working order. The only issue of note is some scratchiness when adjusting the treble and volume pots. This is not an issue once you get your settings dialed in. The amp appears to be original with no circuit modifications. It has aftermarket Sovtek power tubes and Mesa preamp tubes. It is in used condition with cosmetic wear. The back plate/tube protection plate is missing, unfortunately. There are a few spots where the tolex has ripped, but nothing too major. Some of the plastic on the corners and the vent cover have chipped next to where it was riveted in. Overall, it is in good shape for its age.
