Up for sale is an excellent and underrated tube amp by Peavey.. This one flies under the radar, but it is a very good sounding tube amp. Just check all of the youtube videos and what the owners have to say about this unit. Runs on 3 preamp tubes as well 2 6l6GC power tubes. This amp seems to have a little bit more control knobs than a typical Peavey Tube amp from the 70s and 80s, like the Peavey Bravo. And this is a good thing! Gives it some really good versatility and allows the owner to have a lot of control over their sound, with many shades available. The typical knobs, like bass, mid and treble, are very reactive! Youve got enough options there to really change up the flavors of your sounds! But then youve also got the ability to pull out the pre (amp) knob and gives you a little more brightness to your sound.. Perfect for humbucker guitars, like my Schecter Synyster Gates Standard and modded Epiphone Les Paul Jr. Theres the pump knob, which I think is the analog to the saturation knobs on the other aforementioned Peavey tube amps, which increases the gain, saturation and sustain to your overdrive. Perfect for adjusting your solos and leads. You can also pull the post (gain) knob and make you sound smooth as Peavey calls it. Sounds to me like it adds some bass frequencies and possibly some low mid frequencies. Perfect for single coil guitars. Pull out the high knob on your parametric eq, and it makes your sound thick according to Peavey. Sounds like low mids get boosted once again, and possibly some high mids and bass/lows. Did I mention that this amp also has a presence control? Add real spring reverb that sounds really good to the mix, and youve got a total all-in-one unit with the nice warm sounds of valves! Not to mention, this amp has been upgraded with a practically brand new Celestion Seventy-80 (70-Eighty) speaker! Many good sounds can had from this box. Even if you keep the pre-amp gain low, the pump control low, and turn up the post or power amp volume, you can get a very nice classic rock crunch. It would also work well for country rhythms and for solos in soft rock. No problems with the sound of this particular unit either! The power tubes are fairly new and all you get from this machine is tone, tone, tone! No cleaning pots necessary at this time…. None of them are scratchy!!!!!! Up for sale is a terrific classic amp by Ampeg…. Two beautiful inputs/channels of tube goodness reside within this amplifier. There is distortion on one of the channels on this amp. But it is very weak, literally. It almost sounds like it’s trying to be a tube screamer, blending the “distortion” with the original clean signal…. But definitely not the amp’s strong suit. What IS this amp’s strong suit is its “Fender Twin like” clean sounds…. With a power amp driven by 4 7027A power tubes, the clean signal from this amp has it all…… Nice round low end, a clear and glassy top end, and just enough inherent mids to give the amp an amazing clean sound! Also makes it a great platform for pedals so you have the potential for a universe of sounds that sound great! The amp has a nice 3 band parametric EQ that services both inputs, which includes a very responsive mid control that has a lot of positions, and therefore, shades of middle frequency. On top of that, there is a three position switch, ranging from 300Hz to 3000Hz, located above the parametric EQ that lets you tweak your mids even more! This amp also has a genuine spring reverb, with a cool locking feature on the back, so you can actually “turn off” the reverb with a latch on the back of the amp. According to my amp tech and his trusty side kick, the actual purpose of the lock is so that your reverb tank isn’t constantly clanging around in your car on the way to the gig! Then, when you get to your destination, you can simply unlock the latch and rock out with your reverb! Speaking of which, this amp has been serviced by one of the best, if not the best amp tech in the Charlotte metro area. It has 8 brand new capacitors values/voltage can be provided to SERIOUS potential buyers upon request. There are now 2 brand new 220k/2w resistors. Brand new sturdy speaker plug as well as a robust 3 prong plug for the (very long) power cable have also been installed on the amp. Also, 1 brand new ECC-832 preamp tube has been installed. 2 of the power tubes were fairly new and still had plenty of life on them, so the other 2 7027A’s were replaced with a matching pair, so now the amp has a matched quad of power tubes…. Thereby providing a FULL 100 watts (my amp tech believes this is conservative) of earth shaking, beautiful sounding tube power! George Valiant 664 Amplifier. Here is a rare St. George amp from the 60′s! It’s in excellent working condition and sounds great. It’s very clean overall with no major wear. The speaker is made by Quincy and has a date code of “767204″ which would be the 4th week of 1952 or 1962. The tubes are Mullard 1022-435 and a GE Electronic. I’m not sure if all of the parts are original to the amp, but everything appears to be vintage. It may take several hours to package your items and send the combined invoice, so please be patient. Up for sale is a terrific little tube amplifier from the 1960′s with a 12 speaker by Univox…. This hard to find gem is worth every penny we are asking! It is a full tube amp…. The power tubes are 6BM8′s , which are typically used in hi-fi stereos. And you all know how good those can sound! What I really love about this amp is how it overdrives. It has no gain knob or control, just a master volume. So like many class A, single ended one channel amps, this guy gets dirtier as you turn the master volume up. And of course, like any very good tube amp, your sound cleans up with a twist of your guitar’s volume knob downward! But dime this thing and it comes up with a very smooth and pleasing sounding overdrive, just like a tube amp should! As a matter of fact, this amp sounds great throughout the whole master volume range! I have a modded Epiphone Valve Jr. Head that starts to get loose and lose it’s smoothness and tightness when you turn it up all the way…. The speaker is super old and I’m going to guess original to the amp. It looks like one of those old Utah speakers and/or those vintage Fender alnico speakers. If I was going to replace anything on this amp, that would be the only thing, as it is very old after all. Add to all this that the amp has on-board tremolo! Man, this aspect of the amp sounds so good, it alone is worth the price of admission! It has such a huge and use-able range. You can go from really subtle / barely there when it’s engaged and turned down low. All the way to crazy fast tremolo mayhem when turned up all the way! Just an amazing feature that I love on these older tube amps! This amp has been serviced every year by one of the best, if not THE best amp tech in the Metro Charlotte, NC area. No scratchiness in the pots or wierd-ness in the sound. Tubes are fairly new so the amp is at full power and it sounds like it is! Tremolo has no issues and works perfectly! Vintage Bell & Howell Tube Amp – FilmoSound Amplifier w/12 Speaker – (Guitar/Harp Combo Amp). This is a Bell & Howell Filmosound Projector Tube Amplifier with a 12 speaker, which I believe is Jensen. It is in excellent condition, and has been tested in the projector (a video of which I have posted on Youtube). As well as posting a video of this amps features here. In the video here. The Filmosound amplifier is playing a short section of Dweezil Zappa’s guitar solo in the song Inca Roads. I disassembled the speaker and amplifier to ensure there were no surprises, and the pictures show that the speaker and amplifier are in superb condition. The vacuum tubes are (2) two 6L6G (1) one 5Z4 and (1) one 6SL7GT. Please see the videos in the links above for more information on the amplifiers condition and functionality. Up for sale is a rare and excellent tube amp by Traynor. This amp was originally designed to be a bass amp. But like the legendary Fender Bassman, this amplifier sounds TERRIFIC with 6 string electric guitar! This is what I use this amp for, and its amazing in its own little (or more like big) unique way! Since it was designed for bass, this amp has a 15 inch speaker. And I think the speaker gives this amp more depth and body to your single notes, more so than your typical 12 or smaller speaker amps. Possibly with the exception of many of your Fender tube amps, such as the Twin Reverb and Deluxe reverb, which this amp sounds very reminiscent of, to my ears. Note: the original speaker has been replaced by a newer 15. I dont know what the new speaker is, and I dont really want to have to open up the amp if I dont have to. All I know about it is that it sounds GREAT! Add to your palette the top end sparkle that only amps with valves can give you, and youve got one complete sonic solution in your repertoire! All haughty descriptive words aside, this thing can get LOUD quick! It can definitely handle all but the largest venues with ease. Another cool feature of this amp is that there are 2 input sections to this amp, one seeming to have a little higher gain than the other, and each having a hi and low input jack, for a total of 4 inputs! So you can jumper one input side into the other using a patch cable, and really attain all of the tonal capabilities and options of this superb unit!
