Aims VTB-120 Personalized Bass Sound System. AIMS VTB-120 1970s Bass/Guitar Tube Amp – 120 watts – Made in the USA. I have not tested the unit. Just powered it up & cleaned the switches. Unit powers up & tubes are all apparently functioning. The unit shows signs of use, and powers up. That being said, due to the age of this device & the uncertain nature of vintage electronics. They were built in Arizona. The man who designed them was named Lee Dominguez and he owned a music store called Arizona Music. The store is still there, but it has changed hands and has a different name. The amp tech that works at the store, Bob Olsen, has worked at the store since 1960 and he was involved every step of the way in the development of AIMS amps. Dominguez never worked for Fender, but he did work with Fender in developing their reverb tanks and also on a guitar instructional book. You are looking at a Vintage 1962 Silvertone 1472 10 Watts 1×12 All Tube Combo Amp. This is a 100% all original amp. These amps are a great bargain for those players looking for a boutique-quality, handwired amp without the boutique price. It has a great retro overdrive tone, not dissimilar from a tweed deluxe, and sweet all-tube tremolo. This amp has been cleaned and serviced. It hasn’t been used in probably 40 years. Our amp tech went through this amp and she’s all ready to go. The Dano-built, black-covered 1472. Was part of the new, sleek look of the early 60s, part of a quartet of’combo’ amps that were portable, with clean lines and prominent front-mounted controls. On this model and its bass brother, the 1473, a hefty’refrigerator’ handle was also part of the package. Tremolo was included on this amp. He 1472 shared a unique look among its catalog mates. No other amp had vertically mounted front controls or zigzag knobs. These amps always reminded me of a TV, and with the one-eyed monsters’ ascendancy in the early’60s, it kinda makes sense. I have completely gone through the amp and recapped the entire power supply and replaced all the tubes with new or NOS parts. It originally had the old school screw on mic connectors but I have replaced them with locking neutrik parts for 1/4 input. This is about a 30 watt amp using two 6L6 tubes. I built a cabinet for it out of two old 15 Baldwin organ speakers and it gets plenty loud. Anything over about 2/3 volume starts to get muddy. It has a single knob for the tone control. Speaker impedance is changed with the terminals on the back. I did not modify the circuit from stock, I just replaced anything that had failed or was close to failing and changed the input jacks. This is a working Heathkit W-6A mono tube amplifier. All of the large filter can capacitors were replaced by previous owner. The W6A is preferred over the W6M because of improvements. Bias circuit improved (extra adjustment pot, on top). Added ON-OFF switch that W6M doesn’t have. Added Volume control that W6M doesn’t have. Coupling capacitors have been checked out and replaced as needed by previous owner. The output transformer is the highly reguarded Peerless 16431. Google this for all the reviews. Fender Pro Junior tube amp, covered in vintage blonde tolex. This first generation Pro Junior delivers classic Fender sound in a compact size, made in USA. Two EL84 power amp tubes and two 12AX7 preamp tubes, one volume and one tone pot for a pure authentic sound. With the tone knob fully open, you can get that famous Fender crystal clear sound. Speaker has been changed for. Please note there have some been modifications so that this does run as loud as a regular Fender Pro Junior (I don’t know any more than that, but have included some circuit photos). The volume is much lower, it does not distort when the volume is 6, or above and the tone is notably a lot warmer. The internal speaker is connected into the chassis with a jack plug, so you can pull this out and use an external speaker box (for example 4 x 12 at 8 Ohms) if you want. Thank you for looking.
