1965 Fender Vibro Champ Vintage Blackface Tube Amp Class A, FEIC

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Vibro Champ in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This Vibro Champ has a number of early features including the Pre-CBS-era “Fender Electric Instrument” faceplate and no-logo grill. This little Blackface-era Fender wonder delivers five watts of pure Class A tube tone. A surprisingly loud amp via an upgraded alnico magnet 8 speaker, the Vibro Champ offers warm, dynamic cleans before pushing into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive as you turn up the Volume dial. Responsive to your picking dynamics, and absolutely huge sounding when you put a microphone in front of it, it’s hard to beat the Vibro Champ for pure simplicity and great tone. And of course, Fender’s lush sounding tremolo circuit has a strong pulse and wide range of speeds, perfect for subtle shifts in volume or machine gun chop. The circuit is completely original save for the a few smaller electrolytic caps in the preamp. The stock Schumacher-made transformers date to the 14th week of’65 (power) and 13th week of 1965 (output), and visible codes on the CTS pots date to the 30th week of’64. The tube chart is fully intact with an “OF” stamp which translates to June of 1965. The tube compliment includes a modern Groove Tubes 6V6 power tube, vintage GE 5Y3 rectifier tube, and matched USA-made Sylvania preamp tubes. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are extremely clean, with very little darkening of the grillcloth and sparingly little wear on the tolex. The faceplate is very well-kept too, complete with its full compliment of witch hat knobs. The stock handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and chassis straps are all intact, and the hardware shows sparingly little surface patina. This Vibro Champ is an ideal example of Blackface tone that sure to delight both discerning collectors and serious players. 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb Vintage Tube Amp Blackface Pre-CBS FEIC AB763 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original two-button footswitch. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb was made very early in the second full year of production for this model, with a “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate, no logo grill, and date codes firmly placing this amp at the very tail end of the Pre-CBS era. Stocked with a matched pair of fresh Tung Sol 6V6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a sweet, balanced sound that delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Blackface era. This amp is very dynamic, working as a perfect platform for effects pedals and while the treble response can twang with the best, there’s a smoothness to the top end that keeps the amp from ever sounding harsh. Turning it up past 4 on the volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of sizzle. The Reverb is lush with long decay and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit retains all of the original Schumacher-made transformers (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the Blackface era) with date codes from mid-1964. All but one of the original CTS pots are intact, also with visible date codes from’64. The preamp features a host of modern Sprague Orange Drop capacitors, with smaller Sprague electrolytic caps and low-noise metal film resistors throughout. The power supply has been professionally recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, and a three-prong cable has been installed too. The speaker is a vintage Jensen C12R ceramic driver which dates to the 18th week of 1963, factory spec for this model yet a more recent substitution. The speaker has a clean frame and small Jensen foil label on the magnet. The original tube chart is intact inside the cabinet, with the “Fender Electric Instrument Co” text matching the faceplate, retaining an “OB” date stamp which translates to February of 1965. Cosmetically, the amp is complete with the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The original grillcloth shows only light, uniform aging on the no-logo baffle, an early feature which only lasted through the first few months of’65. The original faceplate is quite clean and retains a full compliment of witch hat knobs, and the all-important Pre-CBS Fender Electric Inst. Text is present on the faceplate. The tolex shows only some requisite stray nicks and minor edge wear, and all of the original hardware including the handle caps, chassis straps, and sphinx glides (feet) is present. The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1967 Fender Twin Reverb Blackface Vintage AB763 Combo Tube Amp Guitar Amplifier

1967 Fender Twin Reverb Blackface Vintage AB763 Combo Tube Amp Guitar Amplifier

1967 Fender Twin Reverb Blackface Combo Amplifier. This amp sounds outstanding and is the epitome of Blackface tones. It is all-original except for upgraded vintage 1972 CTS 12E18L speakers, a 3-prong power cord, replaced power supply filter caps, and new properly biased JJ power tubes. Everything else is original. Most parts actually date to 1966, while the power transformer dates to 1967. This was likely made very early 1967. There is zero hum. The reverb is lush and the vibrato works great. There is no static when adjusting any of the controls. This amp sounds excellent at both low and high volumes. Overall this vintage amp is in good working condition with typical cosmetic wear. The grill cloth has a few tiny tears and the tolex has some typical scuffs throughout, but nothing major. The faceplate is good and all lettering is visible, just some standard marks throughout. The handle works perfectly. A previous owner etched some letters on the back corner of the chassis but is barely visible. Most of the tube chart has peeled off. The original tilt back legs work perfectly. Includes the original 2-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch in good working condition. The footswitch has typical marks from usage. Also includes the Fender slipcover in very good condition. Does not include any other accessories. The Twin was Fender’s original two 12-inch speaker tube amp launched in 1952. The original Twin was supplanted by the Twin Reverb in 1963 which has since earned a place as one of Fender’s most iconic amps. Starting in the late’60s, the Twin Reverb switched from Blackface to a Silverface style cabinet. The Silverface editions are less desirable. Years of Production: 1963 – 1982 (later reissued) Notable Twin Reverb Players: John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Jack White. Fender 1967 Super Reverb Vintage Tube Amplifier Blackface with Cover

This is a Beautiful Vintage 1967 Fender Super Reverb Tube Amp. It in Very Good Condition and Fully Functional. The circuitry employs an All-Tube design. Sound-wise, the Amp is Amazing. Very touch sensitive and reactive to a player’s pick attack and the guitar’s volume control. The Fender Super has Reverb and “Vibrato” (actually tremolo). The Reverb gets massive quickly. Plenty of traditional, Fender style drippy spring reverb. The 4-10 speakers are Original and a great compliment to the amp’s tone. This Super Reverb is a clear example of why these amps have been loved by generations of guitarists. It has an exceptional ability to deliver a loud, warm tube sound. This amp has some tears in the tolex and grill cloth. Overall, we would rate a 8.5 out of 10 condition. We will include a Fender Amp cover. Model: Blackface Super Reverb. Year of Production: 1967. Built in FX: Spring Reverb & Vibrato. Speakers: Four 10-Inch Fender Speakers. 1 x 5AR4/GZ34 Rectifier Tube. This item is also available for sale at Harbor Music’s physical store in Redondo Beach, CA. 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Blackface Vintage 2x10 Tube Amp AA864 with Jensen C10N

Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has smooth attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube Reverb and punchy Tremolo. The preamp is 100% original, save for a new bias cap to regulate the power tubes, retaining a full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient in the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface circuits. All of the original transformers are intact, manufactured by Schumacher (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the’60s) and dating to 1965. All of the original CTS pots are intact too, with visible date codes from’65, matching the chassis stamp. The power supply has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atoms. The Jensen 10 speakers are a matched pair of vintage drivers with clean black frames and foil stickers on the ceramic magnets, factory spec for this model yet dating to’66. These speakers are the perfect pairing for the Vibrolux circuit, offering Jense’s hi-fi clarity and articulation. The tube chart is intact, with a faded “OE” date stamp which translates to May of 1966. The pair of brand new Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes are optimally biased, with a vintage RCA 5AR4 rectifier and an array of modern and vintage preamp tubes from the likes of Amperex and General Electric. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, with sparingly little tolex wear and uniform aging of the grillcloth. The hardware includes the full compliment of witch hat knobs (with a couple vintage substitutes), raised Fender logo, handle caps, chassis straps, corners, and sphinx glides (feet).
