This is a push-pull 6V6 tube amplifier from a 1947 Bell and Howell 16 mm film projector. It comes with its power cord and it powers up when turned on. All the tubes test good on an emissions type of tube tester (except the 4 pin optical tube that my tester can’t test). It was tested with an electric guitar and it amplifies, even overdrives when cranked, but it gets very noisy. It includes the 918 optical tube, but it isn’t needed as a normal amplifier. Fisher 400 Wide-Band FM Multiplex Receiver. I still love the tube sound though. This stereo looks and sounds great. AUX and Tape sound fantastic through the iPhone and Android. Phono tested fine with my son’s Crossley (all I had). FM Tuning Stereo Beam works well as does reception but the only strong signal I could get was talk radio. Radio had some distortion but I could not tell if it was due to reception or not. It could be my cheap flat wire antenna as well but never really needed radio. The radio dial is off so when tuned into 105.9 it reads 105.0 (see photo with Stereo Beam). My modest research suggests these issues are not uncommon and can be addressed. Loudness switch button broke but the functionality still works. It was a was a clean break. I have the piece (see photo) that fits perfectly like a puzzle piece. Will easily glue on when faceplate is removed but have left that up to you. All knobs are complete. Headphone jack was tested and works. I have priced this accordingly as I will restore myself before giving it away. This really is a nice unit and is a perfect candidate for a total restoration. You have found a great condition 1959 Gibson GA-18 Explorer amp. This is a vintage, original GA-18, not the GA-18T, which was produced in 1960-61. The 1959 GA-18 had the 10 Jenson Special Design speaker, but otherwise the specs are the same. The listing includes the following original elements of the Explorer. Tweed and grill cloth. Normal wear shown for this vintage: staining and variation in the tweed, scuffs, etc. As shown in the images, the grill cloth has one broken thread and a small rash in one spot. These were there when I. This amp and I’ve not attempted a repair. Otherwise the grill cloth is fabulous and the Gibson badge is perfect. Jenson 10 speaker is. Dated 1st week of 1960. Foot switch in very good condition. All feet in place. What’s not original. A few replaced caps. A new 3 prong grounded cord has been installed for safety.
