Vintage 1966 Ampeg Gemini I 1x12 Amplfier G-12 Model, Vintage 7591 Tube Amp

This 1966 Ampeg Gemini I is in very original condition except for the replaced speaker. I’ve owned it for about 15 years and have played it just enough to keep the caps alive. It doesn’t pop or crackle but a cap job / servicing is certainly in order. These amps are not Fender knock-offs, they have their own sound. This one gets very loud for an amp rated at 22-watts. Lots of cool features: Ampegs are known for awesome reverb — and this one definitely has that. By the time you get to 5, you’re underwater. Also, you get 2 different types of tremolo. Very’60′s sci-fi. That feature takes 5-10 sec to come on. When it does, you’ll know it! This is like the Bright switch on a Fender amp. This amp does clean sounds beautifully, takes pedals very well, and — one more thing — you can jumper the channels together. This amp will break up but not until it has gotten good and loud! Original speaker was AWOL when I got it. I’ve tried a few different replacements in it over the years. This Eminence Legend is a nice match, so it has remained. Original parts include Ampeg-branded 7591 power tubes. Ampeg circuit designs run power tubes gently, unlike Fender, so it’s not too surprising to see the originals still hanging in there. Vintage 1974 Ampeg V4-B Bass Amp Head. I just pulled this amp out of storage where it’s been for nearly 2 decades. I don’t have a bass so I tested it out with an electric guitar just to make sure everything is functioning properly. I played it for about a half hour but didn’t take the volume above 4. It’s been idle for a long time and I think it should get the once over by a tech before really pushing it. The good: All the controls worked properly. Every knob and switch seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. Additionally, when it was last retubed when 7027As were still available, (no longer the case) so it has a nice set of Magnavox branded 7027 output tubes. The bad: The lamp for the power indicator is burned out (the standby light works fine) The amp has normal scuffs and scrapes you’d expect from a heavy amp head and one big spot where the vinyl is missing. Please ask any questions before purchasing. The item “Vintage 1974 Ampeg V4-B Bass Guitar Tube Amp Head” is in sale since Sunday, October 28, 2018. 1969 Ampeg AC-12 Vintage 20 Watt 1x12 Tube Amp, Serviced! GU-12

Up for sale, a 1969 Ampeg AC-12 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Just given a clean bill of health by our in-house techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this Ampeg boasts an all-tube 20 watt circuit in an open-back 1×12 enclosure. An uncommon amp designed by Ampeg to appeal to accordion players (but excellent for guitar) and available for a very short span of years, the AC-12 was virtually identical to its later version the GU-12, which was used by the Rolling Stones on Exile on Main Street. With simple Volume and Tone knobs in addition to controls for the built-in Tremolo and Reverb, the AC-12 is a straightforward, pure sounding amp with robust cleans and some nice overdriven grind when dimed out. The circuit is very original, with stock transformers and CTS pots that date to the 50th week of 1969. The faceplate retains all of the original knobs and the majority of the blue silkscreen graphics, while the polished chrome back of the chassis notes the amp’s Linden, NJ manufacture. The amp boasts a complete vintage tube set, with the original Ampeg-branded 7591 power tubes and preamp tubes from the likes of RCA and Sylvania. The amp has been fitted with an Oaktron ceramic magnet 12 speaker which easily handles the AC-12′s 20 all tube watts and keeps the sound tight and full. The original smooth black tolex and aged silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, with original corners and handle caps present too. Both back panels are intact and the enclosure shows some light wear from the past half century, but overall has weathered the decades in style. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. Huge Ampeg tube head in good vintage shape. Needs nothing, ready to rock. A Les Paul with humbuckers sounds monstrous through this Ampeg! You can really dial in some punishing and gritty 1971-type tone. Run it into a 4×12 if you have one. Some people use V4s for bass guitar too, although I feel it is perfectly voiced for 6-string guitar. All EQ knobs and switches work as designed. Most components visible have 1974 date codes. The newest I see is the Northlake output transformer, dating to the 6th week of 1975. Caveats: The back panel is gone. The standby light doesnt seem to illuminate at all. The red power lights shows only the faintest of glimmers. Of course both switches function as intended. Master volume control added (black knob). I believe this is a simple conversion, and thus, simply reverse. The original printed schematic (Revision “F” I believe) is still intact on the top of the inner chassis, though somewhat torn and grimy. Interestingly theres a Bugera 12AX7 tube in the 6CG7 slot. It was there when I acquired the amp. I dont know if this has any bearing on the V-4s sound, but I left it (and all tubes) unmolested. A nearly new, matched quad of JJ 7027A sits in the output section. Other miniature tubes are a mix of Bugera, Electro-Harmonix, and JJ. I’m of the mind to leave a good thing untouched – this is the type of amplifier tone guitarists spend years searching for. This head weighs well over 50 pounds and measures about 11 x 26.5 x 10. For Sale is my classic Vintage Tube Amp – Ampeg VT-60 : Made in U. By SLM Electronics, St. ” Considered by many to be a “Poor Man’s Mesa Boogie; due to it’s single 12-inch design and 3-Channel amplifier. Green Channel (Channel-C) covers Fender-like cleans with lush Reverb, Red Channel (Channel-A) kills Santana-esque’ creamy Overdrive and Gain (sustains forever); Yellow (middle) Channel (Channel-B) is my favorite for dialing in the perfect blend of each. (Don’t have the Footswitch), but switches easily on the front-panel with Push/Pull-Pots. Original Ampeg speaker is lush and thick sounding… Cosmetically VERY CLEAN from my pet and smoke-free home, not “perfect”, but darn close considering age – (made in late-80′s/early-90′s). Gotta’ love the “Drip-Edge” front baffle. LOL – I’ve owned this beauty about 10-years; only used for occasional “Practice” at low levels in my small bedroom. Haven’t used her at all in the last few years, (it’s way more amp than I need). Sounded fine the last time I used it – but upon testing today it has some “scratchiness” and seems to be down on power in the Green (and Yellow) Channels. (Red Channel seems to be pumping normally, but has the scratchiness mentioned). Had similar symptoms about six years ago – and was completely gone over and given a clean bill-of-health by legendary Amp Guru’ Dennis Kager at Central Jersey Music Service (I have the receipt). So, she likely needs the Pots cleaned and may need a Pre-Amp tube or two (price reflects the needed service). This amp sounds amazing – silky-smooth cleans; ultra milky, creamy grind – (and/or screaming sustain), lush Reverb; amazing “sag” and “Presence” response – (has Presence Control w/ Hi/Lo Damping switch on back-panel). Wish I could keep the old gal’ – but currently have little use for it; and I hate seeing such a classic amp go un-appreciated – so she needs a new home with an adoring owner, lol… Thanks for Looking and Reply if your interested or have any questions… The item “AMPEG VT-60 VINTAGE TUBE AMP GUITAR AMPLIFIER 3-CHANNEL REVERB MESA BOOGIE” is in sale since Monday, December 10, 2018. You are looking at a Vintage 1966 Ampeg Gemini II 30 Watt 1×15 All Tube Combo Amp. If you are into that 1960′s trashy rock sound, (Stones, Kinks) you’ll love this amp. In production from 1965 to 1968. Originally designed as an Accordion Amp. (What were they thinking). Though the Gemini II was intended for jazz (like the majority of the Ampegs of its day), this one somehow slipped past the Gatekeeper of Clean, head honcho Everett Hull. Theres something grimy, rich, and raw going on when you crank it up, and that opens a world of sonic possibilities beyond the archetypal smooth. To be fair, itll do smooth if you keep it down to 9 or 10 oclock on the dial, lulling you back into that mid-60s vibe. But, fast-forward nearly 50 years and these things make great avenues to original tones in the arenas of alternative, indie, blues-rock, Americana, and roots-rock. Get it cooking, and it also lets the listener know youre plugged into something other than the usual Vox, Marshall, or Fender-derived amp design. Of your blackface Super Reverb, JMI AC30, or JTM45 Bluesbreaker combo! Our Amp Tech serviced this amp. He cleaned all pots, jacks and tube sockets. Replaced one open plate resistor and a couple of caps. Added a 3-prong grounded ac cord. Everything functions and works great! You won’t spend any additional monies on this amp. Gig Ready on Arrival! Speaker is NOT original. It has been upgrade to a 1×15 Jemsen Speaker! Complete Package with Original 2-button footswitch! Keep in mind that this is a 57 year old vintage amp that has been used. There are some scuffs, scratches and minor tears in the tolex. Grill Cloth is faded due to age. There is some pitting on the instrument control bezel. All lettering is clear and legible. Dripping with “Mojo” It is used. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story. We are here to help! Top 40 guitars is a Veteran owned business.
