Up for sale, a 1957 Magnatone Custom 213 Troubadour in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A first year example of the Troubadour model, this Custom 213 is fresh back from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with a clean bill of health. One of the cooler and less common mid-size Magna Electric-era Magnatone amps, the 213 boasts a single 12 alnico Oxford speaker and is powered by a matched pair of 6V6s, delivering 18 all tube watts. Whether you’re looking for the perfect surfy hollow twang or surprisingly thick overdrive, this Magnatone easily supplies a range of classic tube driven textures. Of course one of the main draws of any Magnatone is the true pitch vibrato, and with a width and warble unequalled in tube amp design, this vibrato circuit is in a word lush. The circuit is virtually untouched, boasting original Schumacher transformers and all of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, with dates from the latter half of 1957. Other date codes of note include the original Oxford 12K5 speaker which dates to the 51st week of 1957 and retains its original Magnatone foil sticker on the magnet bell. The faceplate is quite clean and complete with era correct Dakaware knobs. The original smooth brown leatherette covering is in remarkable shape, with some expected light wear around the edges and at the corners, but nothing untoward for a 60+ year old amp. The wheat grillcloth is similarly well kept, and the original Magnatone logo is present too. The back panel on the cab is not present. This is a Peavey Classic 50 Tweed head from the mid 90′s. It is an incredible amp. When you turn it up it gets even better. If you throw a Tube Screamer in front of the lead channel… You can get some great 70′s rock tones aka Van Halen, Tom Petty, 38 Special, Journey….. Anything Bluesy or Classic Rock from the 70′s and 80′s is right in the sweet-spot of this great amp head. The Clean channel is very American Fender-like. Perfect for SRV stuff like Riviera Paradise. I do not have the user’s manual. Peavey has it available on their website and you can download it. Original box is not included either. These Peavey Heads are extremely reliable, and durable. The Tweed tolex is in pretty good shape, although it does have a few dings and scratches which I have shown (See Photos). The tubes are still good. The Caps and pots are working fine. The FX loop works good too. I removed a lot of rust from the mirror faceplate and some of the numbers in white around the Black Chicken-head knobs has worn off… And it did leave little rust “bumps” on there as shown (See Photos). The handle is a little worn as you can see in the photos as well. Overall this Peavey Classic 50 is in good shape for an amp 20+ years old. Luxman MQ68 CUSTOM Vintage Stereo Power Tube Amplifier. I have here a nice and old Luxman MQ68 Custom Stereo Tube Power Amplifier. Came out in 1978, this is a true classic tube amplifier. As being tested with my audio, the output from Right side channel seems to have crackling noise on it, and appears to have slight constant noise on the Right even when the volume is down to zero. The two tubes on the right is marked “OK” and “NO” as pictured, and when I switch the two tubes on the right with the tubes on the left, the noise on the output changes to Left side. So I guess the tube(s) needs replacing, but I’m not a technician at these and I have not done any professional testings so I’m not sure if there is any further issues or not. Apart from the noise on the Right output, Left side output seems to sound fine and the volume knobs appear to be working fine with no noticeable scratch noise. Cosmetically the unit is in very nice condition for its age as you can see. There are some wear and minor marks here and there with but nothing major. I’m including plenty of pictures so you can see exactly how it looks. Please refer to my pictures for any details. NOTE: This unit was made for the Japanese market which runs on 100 volts. You will need a stepdown voltage converter for 120V – 220V regions. These charges are the buyers responsibility. Thanks for checking our listing. Up for sale, a 1964 Standel Custom 83L15V vintage guitar amplifier in excellent condition and in good working order. A rare amp which Standel advertised as “Transistorized, ” this rare and complete model actually has an all tube power section with an additional 12AX7 and a solid state preamp. An early marriage of solid state and tube technologies (and many would argue one of the most effective and elegant), this amp is extremely robust and clear, with round crystalline clean tones thanks in part to the stock JBL D130F 15 speaker. Perfect for pedal steel and able to retain remarkable headroom at high volumes, the 83L15V has become a favorite of pedal steel players. The amp is stocked with a pair of vintage and likely original RCA 6GT5 power tubes which still sound great, and the original JBL speaker has a nearly spotless gray frame. The tremolo module is intact, yet has been bypassed in the circuit (common with these epoxy covered modules) and the circuit otherwise functions exactly as intended. This amp is extremely hard to come by in any condition, let alone the cosmetically stunning and well kept example seen here which has particularly nice chrome, clean tolex and grill, and all of the original knobs. Up for sale, a 1963 Magnatone Custom M6 in excellent condition and in good working order. This Magnatone/Estey amp was produced only from mid 1963-64, and features the quintessential Magnatone sound and true pitch vibrato. This two channel amp delivers a dynamic and warm clean tone that quickly saturates into smooth tube overdrive as you turn up the volume dial. The varistor vibrato is the same design used in earlier top-tier Magnatone models and it has a dimension and depth that no other vibrato can match! Rated at roughly 25 watts with a pair of vintage Sylvania 7189 power tubes, this amp is voiced through a single Oxford 12 speaker. This M6 is a particularly clean example, with the short-lived yet very sturdy wood reinforced plastic cabinet. The steel chassis for the preamp is connected to the overbuilt amp handle, and the preamp is very tech friendly, point-to-point wired and accessible by removing only two bolts on either side of the chassis. Featuring original gold sparkle grillcloth and gold accents, the M6 is a real looker with a Magnatone “M” that lights up on the top of the amp when in operation. The circuit is very original, with stock CTS pots that date to late’61, the original blue molded Ajax tone caps and untouched solder joints. The transformers are original as well. The amp features a nice selection of vintage preamp tubes along with a matched pair of Sylvania 7189 power tubes (same pin out and similar tonal characteristics to an EL84, but able to generate higher plate voltages). The alnico Oxford 12K5 speaker is original, sound great, and dates to the 38th week of 1963. Cosmetically, this Magnatone is very clean. The faceplate shows some light wear and the gold caps on the knobs are missing, although all of the original knobs are intact. There is also a tiny amount of surface rust in a couple spots on the faceplate and a few scuffs on the cab, but as the photos show, there is no serious or structural wear of any kind. This has a great Pitch shifting Vibrato and reverb. These are 38 watts, all tube and a 12 inch speaker. This is a great working Magnatone amplifier. This has Reverb and Vibrato… There are two channels and also has a stereo input to blend the channels. The has the speaker cloth replaced. Tested and was working and sounding great… The light bulb does not light up… One tab broke off pot. This was tested and sounded great… When I initially turned it was a bit noisy. But after using it and cleaning the pots a bit she was nice and quiet. This tested and working. I a not an expert. If it needs some servicing then you will be responsible… Thanks and all the best….
