1954 Fender Deluxe Tube Combo Amp 5C3 Vintage Good. Serial # indicates 1954 manufacture. Has original blue Jensen speaker, manufactured in 1954. I replaced the handle at some point. New leather handle in excellent condition. Re-Covered before I bought it. Cover and grill has some staining. I replaced two out of the three power tubes in the’80′s. Amp is very reliable, never needed a repair. Amp crackles at times on”idle” but this doesn’t effect the fantastic sound quality. Please ask questions, and thanks for looking. Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Deluxe tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured in the brief Brownface Pre-CBS era, this amp has a very original 6G3 circuit, only serviced as needed for optimal performance. Providing a perfect middle ground between the warmth and dynamic range of the Tweed amps that preceded it and the clarity and chime of the Blackface amps that would be introduced a couple years later, this Deluxe offers everything from rich and mellow tonalities to twangy and crystalline bite at the turn of a knob. The bias based tremolo circuit is deep and throbbing, with a very smooth waveform and a tone that has an almost three-dimensional quality. It’s truly one of the best examples of this classic Fender effect. The circuit features the original Schumacher transformers which date to the 36th and 38th weeks of’62, with a closely matched chassis stamp from the 49th week of 1962. The preamp is virtually untouched save for a one new bias capacitor sleeved in their original brown Astron wrapper, and all of the original Stackpole pots are intact too. The preamp features the full compliment of original blue molded Ajax tone caps, essential to the sweet, musical character of Fender’s golden age circuits. The power supply has also been professionally recapped, and the new caps have been neatly sleeved in the original Astron brown wrappers. The tube compliment includes a brand new matched pair of Electro Harmonix 6V6s, an NOS rectifier, and modern valves in the preamp as well from the likes of Groove Tubes and Sovtek. The stock Oxford 12K5 speaker is intact with a minty frame and date code from the 32nd week of 1962, and the speaker has been professionally reconed. Inside the cab, the original tube chart is mostly intact too. Cosmetically, this amp is remarkably clean, with original rough brown tolex, wheat grillcloth, and even the stock leather handle. The original chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact, and the faceplate is very clean, retaining its full compliment of brown barrel knobs. Vintage National “Waikiki Deluxe” guitar amp. Guitar and matching g. The label in the back of the amp says Model #97, Waikiki Deluxe. The tube amp matches the carrying case for the Hawaiian lap steel guitar. The tube amp works. If you insert a new guitar into the left input on back, the amp functions normally with the “off/on” switch doubling as the volume control. But if you plug in the vintage lap guitar to the same input, only one string on it sounds loud and clear. Maybe you are smarter than me. Both handles, on the amp and on the carrying case, are in excellent condition. See photos, including the four-tube layout schematic shown on the green rear amp label. If youre reading this, you probably know what great amps vintage Deluxes are. Theres a reason theyre sought after classics. The Fender logo with no tail, no push-pull pot, and chassis serial number dates this amp to 1973. This amp was serviced by David Allen of Allen Amplification to get it ready for sale. David has a national reputation for amp design, building, and repair. It sounds great, and is ready to make beautiful music with your favorite guitar. There are new feet on the bottom. The Tolex is worn through on one of the top rear corners. There is some plating wear on the chassis straps and handle end caps. One of the knobs was missing, so I installed a replacement knob. The speaker is a Fender Eminence speaker. A past owner installed a pair of tweeters. They are unhooked and dont do anything. I left them in to block light from showing through the holes. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has a very original circuit that has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. Stocked with new properly-biased EH 6V6 power tubes and a full compliment of new JJ preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a clear and dynamic sound, delivering sparkling cleans that are a great effects pedal platform. The amp starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial, cascading into rich, lightly compressed crunch as you push the volume to 10. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is very original, with all of the stock Schumacher-made transformers (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the Blackface era) dating to late 1965. The preamp is loaded with the full compliment of the original blue Ajax molded capacitors, a key ingredient in the dynamic, musical tone of Fender’s Blackface amps, and all of the original CTS pots are intact as well, with date codes from 1965. The power amp has been professionally recapped with F&Ts, and the preamp features a new bias cap and smaller bypass caps to ensure the amp is operating within original factory spec. All new caps have been carefully sleeved in their original Minimite wrappers for a flawless vintage look. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The original Oxford 12K5-6 12 speaker is intact, freshly reconed and a very rare speaker, used only in the Deluxe Reverb. The speaker has a clean black frame, Fender blue foil sticker on the magnet, and 1966 date stamp on the frame. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is mostly intact too. Cosmetically, the amp is very original, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The amp was at one time fitted with tilt-back legs, and the small mounting holes for this hardware have been cleanly doweled on the sides of the cabinet. The lower back panel is original, while the top panel is a modern factory-spec replacement. All of the original hardware is present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate also shows sparingly little wear with bold graphics and stock witch hat knobs. The original two-button footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1958 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A golden era narrow panel “tweed” amp with an incredibly detailed and dynamic range of tones, this amp is a true rarity, featuring a Fender factory retolex in early pinkish-brown rough brown tolex circa 1961. Sitting squarely in the realm of “go find another, ” this Deluxe has a distinct visual appearance and all the raucous, touch-sensitive overdrive and sweet harmonic richness that defines the 5E3 model and narrow panel era of Fender Tweed production. At low volumes this Deluxe can deliver sparkling cleans that are round and powerful, with two distinctly voiced channels that overdrive beautifully. There’s plenty of rich roar and sizzle on tap when the amp is pushed to its max, and the single tone knob has ample range for sculpting the low end or adding treble zing. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated snarl to particularly sweet, buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to govern clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit is extremely original, with stock Triad transformers and CTS pots that date to the 37th week of 1957. The power transformer retains its original windings, and the output transformer has been recently rewound to original spec. The preamp retains three of the famed yellow Astron capacitors, giving the circuit a certain sweetness that no modern cap can match. The power amp has been professionally recapped with F&T capacitors and a few of the smaller electrolytics have been upgraded as well and fitted in the original Minimite sleeves for a clean, vintage look. The tubes include a matched pair of RCA 6V6s with a 5Y3 rectifier and USA-made valves in the preamp too. The power cable has been upgraded to a modern three-prong. The speaker is a modern Jensen P12Q with a green frame and alnico magnet construction closely matching’50s Jensen spec. The tube chart is intact and extremely clean, with paper that is only lightly faded, crisp corners, and an “HA” code, dating the amp to January of 1958 (the latest date on the amp). The chrome on the chassis still has plenty of shine, and much of the original white silkscreen lettering is still present on the panel, along with stock chicken head knobs. A new leather handle has been installed, retaining the original fasteners. The rough brown tolex is in great shape, and this distinctive tolex tint and texture has never been replicated since Fender’s original use from 1960-63. Both back panels are original as well, along with the Oxblood gold stripe grillcloth on the stock baffle.
