Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has been expertly maintained to balance function with originality. Stocked with fresh 6V6 power tubes and an assortment of new and NOS preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has great midrange content, light compression, and starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. Professionally recapped so the power amp is stable and working as per factory spec with a very low noise floor suitable for recording, the amp also features a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp is loaded with an assortment of vintage Fender blue molded caps and all of the original Schumacher transformers are present, with date codes spanning late 1965 and early’66. The CTS pots date back to the 45th week of’65 and the tube chart is intact with an “PC” date code which translates to March of 1966. The original Oxford speaker also dates to 1965 with the original blue foil Fender label on the magnet and a fresh recone. Cosmetically, the amp is very original overall, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. There is moderate aging of the grillcloth and some minor scuffs around the edges of the tolex as well as one small cigarette burn on the top. The original hardware is all present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate is also quite clean with stock witch hat knobs. This is a very original and well maintained example of one of Fender’s most famous Blackface amps, complete with the original two-button footswitch. 1970 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Silverface Vintage Tube Amp Oxford 10L5 with Ftsw

Up for sale, an early 1970 Fender Vibrolux Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Produced early in the Silverface run, this amp still has many of the hallmarks of the earlier Blackface design and circuit-wise is identical to the “drip edge” amps that preceded it. Tonally, the amp does everything you’d expect of your favorite Vibrolux Reverb, with a balanced, sparkly clean tone and just the right amount of headroom before giving in to smooth tube saturation and overdrive. There’s a reason why the Vibrolux is currently one of the most collectable and sought after vintage Fender amps, as it’s ideal for recording and also the perfect size for club gigs without overwhelming your bandmates. The balanced tone of the two 10 ceramic speakers, matched with a tube rectified 6L6 based circuit simply can’t be beat! Add Fender’s famed tube driven reverb and tremolo on top and you have one of the best tube amp designs ever conceived. The original Schumacher transformers date between late 1969 and early 1970 and the circuit has been serviced with new filter caps and bias cap to ensure that everything is operating as it should. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, and the amp has been upgraded with a heavy duty modern three-prong power cable. The speakers are a pair of era correct Oxford 10L6 10 ceramic speakers which are freshly restored. These speakers have cleaned and repainted black frames, new Fender blue foil labels, and professional recones. The tubes consist of a variety of newer and vintage preamp valves as well as a matched pair of Groove Tubes/Sovtek 6L6s. Cosmetically, the amp is very clean with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The black tolex shows very little wear, and all of the stock hardware is intact. There is moderate wear on the silver aluminum faceplate, with some light scratches, but all of the text is bold and present, as well as the blue trim around the knobs. The original Fender metal logo (with tail) is intact on the face of the amp, along with the stock sphinx glides (feet), corners, and handle caps. The original two-button footswitch is included. Up for sale, a 1962 Ampeg R-12R Reverberocket in exceptional condition and perfect working order with notably clean “Navy Random Flair” tolex, the original Jensen P12R speaker, and stock amp cover. Under the oversight of Ampeg by founder Everett Hull, Ampeg guitar amps were geared towards jazz guitarists who wanted clean headroom and zero breakup, but according to former Ampeg employee Ken Fischer (long before starting his own company Trainwreck Amplifiers), there was one model that “slipped through the cracks”, and that was the R-12R Reverberocket. This amp has a fantastically spongy feel with plenty of chewy compression, thanks is large part to the octal preamp tubes (6SN7s and 6SL7s in this case), and picking dynamics are glorious, particularly when the amp is cranked to “edge of breakup” tones. The Reverberocket boasts footswitchable bias-based tremolo, along with onboard reverb (the first amp to do so, predating Fenders Vibroverb by a year or two), which is thick and lush without sacrificing clarity. The circuit has been thoroughly serviced with new capacitors in the preamp to keep everything working within original factory spec. The transformers have been swapped out in favor of Mercury Magnetics “Tone Clone” USA made iron, and the power supply has been professionally recapped to ensure that the amp is operating optimally. The original CTS pots date to mid 1961, the schematic on the inside of the back panel is dated March, 1962, while the Jensen speaker dates back to the last weeks of 1959. The preamp tubes are all “Ampeg” branded valves made by Sylvania and are a combination of original tubes and vintage stock sourced so that the tube set could be uniform, and these vintage tubes are an essential part of the incredible tone of this amp. The power tubes are a pair of newer JJ 6V6s. The reverb tank is a factory-spec replacement, and a three-prong power cable has also been installed. The chrome faceplate is near mint, with all of the original white silkscreened text intact as well as stock knobs. On the inside of the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact and the original Jensen P12R 12 alnico speaker sounds fantastic, with warmth, detail, and clarity. The original Navy Random Flair tolex is near mint aside from one scuff on the back panel, and still retains a good concentration of the silver sparkles that often flake off over time. The stock metal corners, feet, leather handle and raised Ampeg logo are also intact. This Ampeg would make a great option for anybody that wants a gigging or recording amp that gives up the goods without being earth-shakingly loud! The original two-button Reverb/Tremolo footswitch is included along with the original dark blue vinyl amp cover with white piping. 1971 Fender Super Reverb Vintage Silverface Tube Amp Near Mint with Cover, Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1971 Fender Super Reverb in near mint, collector grade condition and in perfect working order. Complete with its original Victoria Luggage vinyl cover, two-button footswitch, schematic, and Fender catalog, this Super Reverb is as nice as they come. Serviced only sparingly to ensure optimal tone and reliability, this amp has been reverted to Pre-CBS AB763 specs. Able to deliver huge cleans and incredible power like few other Fender’s can, this Super Reverb is loaded with its original quad of CTS alnico speakers. The amp is dynamic, detailed, and able to hold its own in any ensemble, boasting both lush tube driven spring reverb and a vibrato circuit that has a wide range of speeds and everything from a subtle pulse to machine gun chop. The circuit is very original, and all of the stock Schumacher transformers date to the first weeks of 1971. All of the CTS pots are stock as well (also dating to early’71) and the preamp is virtually untouched aside from new grid resistors and a couple bypass caps to keep everything operating within factory spec and as designed for the AB763 circuit. The main filter caps have been replaced with high quality Sprague Atoms to ensure years of future trouble-free use and the amp has been fitted with a three-prong power cable. The power tubes are a pair of vintage 7581s which are a more robust version of a 6L6 able to deliver more headroom and handle higher plate voltages. The preamp tubes are an assortment of mostly vintage valves by RCA and General Electric. The original CTS speaker quad features minty black stamped frames, 1971 date codes, and original blue foil Fender stickers on the alnico magnets. Three of the speakers retain their original cones, and the fourth has been professionally reconed with identical parts for a consistent tone. The tube chart is intact on the inside of the cabinet with crisp corners and only lightly aged paper. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are near mint, as is the original silverface faceplate with flawless turquoise text. All of the stock hardware is accounted for including the chassis straps, corners, handle caps, tilt back legs, raised “Fender” logo, and sphinx glides (feet). The amp comes complete with its original Victoria Luggage cover. This cover shows some loose stitching and wear along the bottom third of the cover, and the “Super Reverb” text is faded, but present. The two-button footswitch is extremely clean, as is the included manual, schematic, and envelope for the paperwork (stamped “SR” in the corner to mark the amp model) are in great shape. 1970 Fender Deluxe Reverb Vintage Silverface Tube Amp AB763 Circuit with ftsw

Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With a very original AB763 circuit, stock Oxford speaker, and clean cosmetic appearance, this Deluxe comes from very early in the amp’s Silverface run and matches up closely with earlier Blackface specs. The amp boasts a fresh pair of Electro Harmonics 6V6 power tubes and a host of original RCA preamp tubes as well. This amp excels at delivering sparkling, detailed cleans with great headroom, and the lush reverb accentuates the chiming, smooth treble response. Both channels sound distinct and strong, and turning things up past 5 on the volume dial introduces glassy overdriven textures and a touch of compression. It’s everything you could want from a vintage Fender amp. The circuit is clean and original, with original Schumacher transformers that date to late 1969 and very early 1970. The CTS pots date to’70 as well, along with the original Oxford 12L6 speaker. The speaker has a clean black frame, blue foil Fender label on the ceramic magnet, and the original speaker cone. The tube chart is intact on the inside of the cabinet as well. Also of note is the original screwed-in baffle which matches Blackface specs (replaced soon after by a less desirable glued-in and thicker baffle). Cosmetically, this amp is quite clean overall, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. This grillcloth has the turquoise stripe in the thread common for Fender in the early’70s and shows a bit of aging while still presenting well. Both back panels are original and the faceplate is quite clean with original witch hat knobs. The original two-button footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions!
