1969 Fender Twin Reverb Guitar Amp vintage tube amp. NOT REISSUE, CHASSIS ONLY.. I got this amp because it looks trashed and perfect for hot rod project. But after plugging it in and looking it over it’s almost all original. It really just needs a real faceplate and knobs. Or a Blackface faceplate would work as there’s no master volume. Lots of tone/EQ change when you turn the knobs. I used a short Accutronics 3 spring tank to test and Reverb sounds deep and lush. Tremolo works too and is really deep. There are some spits and crackles when turning knobs but goes away after it warms up. Who knows how long it’s been since it was fired up. All in all a really cool vintage 1969 Fender Twin Reverb in working, but cosmetically challenged condition. 15 watts, all tube. Two 6V6 power tubes and two 12AX7′s in the preamp. The first and only Marshall to use 6V6′s. Built-in attenuator: 25 watt, 10 ohm, wire-wound power resistor. The “speaker emulator” [one user's term] is “nice for headphone use or for recording use”. The first and only Marshall amp to include a built-in attenuator. Balanced direct XLR Out – the only guitar amp in the brochure to have this. Headphone jack on the back. The first valve amp that had a headphone jack. To use the attenuator, you unplug the cable of the built-in speaker from the Speaker Out jack, and plug it into the Headphone Out jack instead. (This amp is 1986) Serial: U21963. Controls on the front: From left to right: Input / Gain / Treble / Middle/ Bass / Output Level / Standby / Power. Controls on the back: Left to right: Power cable connector / Fuse / Balanced Direct Out (Floating Ground) / Speaker Out 8 ohm (disconnect speaker jack for muted or headphone use) / Headphone Out / Line Out (unbalanced). 12 Celestion Vintage 30 speaker – the first Marshall amp to use this speaker. DC preamp tube filaments to minimize hum and noise. Vintage 1986 all-tube Marshall combo, Model 4001, known as the’Studio 15′. Uses two 12AX7′s and two 6V6′s (very rare for Marshall). It does not sound like a Fender Amp at all, basically a mini JCM800. A very cool rock machine, that wont kill your eardrums! Has a built-in attenuator, headphone jack, and XLR direct out! Everything is original on the amp, with exception to the tubes. The studio 15 is actually rated 18 watts. Everyone knows Marshall watts are loud watts! The amp has a 12 inch Celestion G12 Vintage 30 speaker. An incredible sounding speaker. The speaker may be disconnected without amy damage to the amplifier section allowing the amp to be used as a valve pre-amplifier via the line out socket. The internal speaker can be connected to the headphone socket, which gives a very low signal through the speaker – allowing the amp to be used at maximum volume and giving full bodied valve distortion. The internal speaker must be disconnected, to allow the headphone socket to be used with headphones. Headphone output: Output for headphones (only operative when speaker is disconnected), alternatively the internal speaker may be connected to this output for attenuated output. All original except tubes. FLAWS: Very minor signs of wear as shown in photos. The Output control knob is loose. I use plumbers tape and the knob is snug and works perfectly. This is a working Chassis… This was powered on and was a fully functional super powerful SVT amp… Please view the pics.. But all the caps and connections are solid.. Even if you want to build a small pre-amp from another amp… This has a wire harness type jack that you can tap into.. The potentiometers are for Bias’ ing the amp power tubes.. This is 300 watts of pure tube power… I could see something amazing happening out of this project… This is a heavy item… What you see is what you get… This would have taken 6 x 6550 tubes… Google the SVT Bass Amp Schematic. The amplifier powers up and plays. I did not test everything. I had my neighbor look at the amp and he says that the wiring and tubes should be cleaned and gone over. He is not saying that the wiring or tubes are bad, but since this is 45 years old it should be checked out better. The pedal in the picture has been cut and needs to be rewired. Not sure if the pedal is good or bad. I was told that the serial number on the chassis date the amp to around 1972. It looks like the tag with the serial number is missing part of the tag. The cabinet is in decent but not perfect shape. This amp is 45 years old so please do not expect to show up at my house and have a perfect amp. I bought that amp earlier this year and it has not been touched by anyone. When you come to my house I will power it up so you can see it gets power.
