Up for sale, a 1960 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit is extremely original, freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with new Sprague Atom filter caps and smaller electrolytics. The full complement of original yellow Astron caps are intact in the preamp, with original Stackpole pots which date to the 6th week of’60. The original transformers are intact, with a Triad power transformer and a Schumacher output transformer, dating to the 24th week of’60. The amp is loaded with a full vintage tube set too. The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico 12 driver with a very clean teal frame and a recent recone. This speaker dates to the 30th week of’59, and retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The tube chart is intact and crisp with one missing corner (where the date stamp would typically be located), and thankfully the chassis itself retains the identical “JJ” stamp, translating to October of 1960. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed shows light ambering, with some minor requisite scuffing on the edges of the cabinet and some staining and wear on the lower corners. Both back panels are original as well, as is the oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe, while the leather handle is a modern replacement. This Deluxe is an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1958 Fender Harvard Narrow Panel Tweed 5F10 Vintage Pre-CBS Tube Amp Jensen P10R

Up for sale, a 1958 Fender Harvard in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The Harvard is a unique model, sitting just below the Deluxe in terms of output with two 6V6 power tubes pushing 10 glorious all-tube watts through a Jensen P10R speaker. The Harvard also has the distinction of being the only Tweed era Fender model name to not make the transition to subsequent Brown and Blackface amp series. Offering a similar tone stack to the Tweed-era 5E3 Deluxe, yet with a single-triode 6AT6 powering the initial gain stage and a class AB fixed bias design unique among Fender’s Tweeds, the Harvard delivers on the promise of sweet tube saturation and the extremely dynamic, harmonic-rich tones which are a hallmark of the narrow panel tweed Fender amps. Outfitted with simple Volume and Tone controls, the amp has quite a bit of muscle, surprising headroom, and a bold bass register that belies its size, pushing into lightly compressed overdrive with plenty of sizzle and grit beyond 5 on the Volume dial. The cabinet size (noticeably bigger than the Champ and Princeton) adds a certain low end fullness to the tone as well, with great bloom to the notes and a richness that’s particularly evident when played with a humbucker-equipped guitar. The 5F10 circuit is extremely clean and well-maintained, with new Sprague Atom filter caps and smaller tubular caps in the preamp as well. The original Stackpole pots are intact, dating to the 38th week of’57, and the amp retains its original jacks, carbon comp resistors, and cloth-covered leads. The original Triad open bell output transformer is intact, while the power transformer is a boutique faithfully wound modern clone furnished by Mercury Magnetics. The faceplate has plenty of shine, with some requisite pitting of the chrome, yet with the majority of the original white silkscreened lettering intact. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen P10R with a very clean teal frame, stock foil label on the alnico magnet, and date code on the edge of the frame from 1959. The tube chart is present and quite clean as well, denoting the 5F10 circuit and also still featuring a cleanly stamped “HA” date code, which translates to January of 1958. The original lacquered tweed is intact and lightly ambered. A well-kept example, this amp shows some modest scuffing and edge wear consistent with age. The leather handle is original, and the original Fender Harvard badge is intact. The Harvard is commonly referenced as the “Steve Cropper amp, ” having been used extensively by that artist to capture the tones heard with Booker T and the MGs on tracks like Green Onions, and on other notable hits like Otis Redding’s Dock of the Bay. Fender’s 1×10 Harvard certainly does not disappoint and is the perfect stage and studio secret weapon. The preamp features original Stackpole pots which date to the 41st week of’55, along with a couple of the original Yellow Astron capacitors. The amp is loaded with a matched pair of properly biased Electro Harmonix 6V6s, an RCA 5Y3 rectifier, and preamp tubes from the likes of RCA and Groove Tubes. The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico 12 driver with a very clean teal frame and a recent recone. This speaker dates to the 16th week of’56, and retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The other most pertinent date code is the “FG” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to July of’56. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed shows light ambering, with some. Minor requisite scuffing on the edges of the cabinet and a few bald corners. 1956 Fender Princeton Tweed Vintage Tube Amp Narrow Panel Big Box 5F2 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1956 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This narrow panel Tweed amp has absolutely stunning and virtually un-ambered original tweed, and is one of the more impressive golden-age Fender amps to come through our shop of late. With its narrow panel configuration, this Princeton is considered the “big box” version, with a cab that’s far larger than the single 8 alnico speaker requires, and the resulting sound is deceptively round and rich for the relatively small speaker size. The circuit couldn’t be more simple and pure, with single Volume and Tone knobs and a Class A circuit design, powered by a single 6V6 power tube. The tone is articulate, dynamic and commanding, with the sizzle and churning overdrive of a Champ, but with more tonal range and fuller low end. The top end response is just right, and the amp doesn’t get too trebly, making the tone control quite usable for dialing in exactly as much zing and snap as you desire. The circuit is very original and only serviced as necessary for optimal functionality, retaining the original Triad transformers. The original Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and yellow Astron capacitors are intact, with the Stackpole pots dating to the 47th week of 1955. The power supply caps and smaller electrolytics have been replaced with high quality modern Spragues, and all original Astron Mini Mite electrolytics are included, along with the two-prong power cable (a three-prong is currently installed). The tubes include a vintage RCA 6V6 and Sylvania 5Y3 rectifier along with a modern Mullard 12AX7. The speaker is original and a particularly rare alnico Jensen. The speaker has the signature of the Fender employee who wired the circuit on the edge of the frame, and the speaker is also stamped “FE” just north of the magnet, matching the identical stamps on the chassis and tube chart. The tube chart is notable for its well-preserved condition, with perfect corners, handwritten serial number, and “FE” date stamp which translates to May of 1956. The inside of the cabinet is stamped for Torp’s Music Center and Dancing School in St. Paul, Minnesota, presumably the original purchaser of this amp in 1956. Torp’s also added a mini badge to the lower face of the amp, and clearly this amp never saw much use at the Music Center, given its stunning cosmetic condition. There is barely any ambering of the original tweed, with only extremely minor edge wear. The faceplate is extremely clean, with all of the white silkscreened font, shiny chrome, and a pair of original chicken head knobs. A new leather handle has been installed, yet the original is also included (split at one end). This amp is a true rarity given its condition, and this particular example has been carefully tested and inspected to ensure originality and ideal functionality. Any original parts which necessitated replacement are included, such as capacitors, the two-prong power cable, and leather handle. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. 1956 Fender Champ Tweed 5F1 Narrow Panel Vintage Tube Guitar Amp 6 Jensen

Up for sale, a 1956 Fender Champ in excellent condition and in perfect working order. A transitional model, this early 5F1 circuit Champ is a very rare iteration with a narrow panel enclosure, 6 speaker, and 5E1 tube chart from the Champ’s previous circuit designation. With a bit more splat and looseness than the later 8 speaker-equipped Champs, the hallmarks of the 5F1 circuit are still evident with this amp. It’s a simple and elegant circuit that drives a single 6V6 power tube for everything from snappy cleans (with a single coil) to thick overdriven bark (achieved easily even at low settings on the dial with a P-90 or humbucker). There’s nothing that can match the rich dynamic sizzle of a 5F1 Champ, an essential studio tool that always punches well above its weight on a track. The circuit features the original Triad power transformer, with an output transformer of similar vintage with the correct output characteristics and size, yet not original to the amp. The original pot and jacks are present too, and the circuit has been rebuilt with premium preamp and power supply caps and all carbon comp resistors. The chassis retains much of the original white silkscreen lettering and stock chicken head knob too, with minor pitting on the chrome faceplate. The original Stackpole pot is present, and the era-correct Jensen speaker has a clean frame and original foil sticker on the alnico magnet. The speaker has also been recently reconed, guaranteed to handle the full tonal spectrum that the circuit delivers. The “FL” stamp on the tube chart translates to December of 1956, and the chart itself is very clean, still retaining the 5E1 circuit designation of the previous Champ iteration (a very common occurrence in Fenders of this era). The tubes are all vintage valves including a General Electric 6V6 power tube and 5Y3 rectifier. Cosmetically, the original lacquered tweed is well cared for with modest ambering, some fraying at the right front corner, and a bit of staining on the bottom of the enclosure, which retains the original four nail in feet. Both back panels are original as well as the baffle, which retains the original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe, while the leather handle is a modern replacement. This very early 5F1 circuit Champ is clean, recently serviced, and equipped with a 6 vintage Jensen speaker. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. The original Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and a couple blue Ajax capacitors are intact, with the pots dating to the 52nd week of 1959. The power supply caps and smaller electrolytics have been replaced with high quality modern Samwha and Sprague caps. The tubes are all vintage valves with a Bogen-branded USA-made 6V6, and RCA-made 5Y3 rectifier and 12AX7 tubes. The speaker is an era-correct Oxford 8 driver which has been professionally reconed, with a very clean gray frame and wiring harness with RCA end. The tube chart is intact inside the cabinet. There is notable ambering of the original tweed, with a few bald corners and modest scuffing on the enclosure edges. Up for sale, a 1957 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This narrow panel tweed amp has absolutely stunning and virtually un-ambered original tweed, and is one of the more impressive golden-age Fender amps to come through our shop of late, complete with the original Victoria Luggage brown canvas cover. The speaker is an era-correct Oxford 8 driver which has been professionally reconed and dates to’59 with a very clean gray frame and stock wiring harness with RCA end. The tube chart is notable for its well-preserved condition, with perfect corners, handwritten serial number, and “GG” date stamp which translates to July of 1957. There is barely any ambering of the original tweed, with only a few minor scuffs on the bottom corners. This amp is a true rarity given its condition, and this particular example has been carefully tested and inspected to ensure originality and ideal functionality. 1960 Fender Princeton Tweed Vintage Tube Amplifier Narrow Panel with Cover

Up for sale, a 1960 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This narrow panel tweed amp is one of the nicer golden-age Fender amps to come through our shop. With its narrow panel configuration, this Princeton is considered the “big box” version, with a cab that’s far larger than the single 8 alnico speaker requires, and the resulting sound is deceptively round and rich for the relatively small speaker size. Complete with the original Victoria Luggage canvas cover, this amp is a remarkable find with well-preserved tweed. Actually a pairing of two different tweed-era Princetons, the exceedingly clean cabinet with original lacquered tweed, leather handle, logo, oxblood grill, and tube chart dates to 1956, while the chassis itself has components dating from late 1959-early 60. The circuit is completely untouched, and the original Schumacher transformers which date to the 44th week of’59 (output) and 12th week of 1960 (power). The original Stackpole pots, yellow Astron capacitors, and even the original filter caps are all present. As a testament to the construction of these amps, it has never needed to be serviced. The power tube and 5Y3 rectifier are both Sylvania valves, while the single 12AX7 in the preamp was manufactured by Tung Sol. The original two-prong gray power cable has been upgraded to a black, grounded three-prong. The speaker has a very clean gray frame, original cone, and stock cloth wiring harness with RCA end. The tube chart is notable for its well-preserved condition, with perfect corners and clearly written serial number. There is light ambering of the tweed, with a few exceedingly minor marks and scuffs, and wear mostly relegated to the bottom corners of the enclosure. On the bottom, there is some staining from the rubber feet in a ring around the sphinx glides. The faceplate is very clean, with all of the white silkscreened font, shiny chrome, and a pair of original chicken head knobs. This amp is a true rarity, given its condition, and this particular example has been carefully tested and inspected to ensure originality and ideal functionality. The original brown canvas Victoria Luggage cover is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1954 Fender Super, complete a pair of Jensen P10R alnico 10 speakers. A “Wide Panel” Tweed amp, this particular iteration of the Super is one of the earliest examples of the 5D4 circuit, only available from 1954-55. The Tweed Super is the baby brother of the Bassman in many respects, offering the same harmonic rich, dynamic tones in a more studio friendly and portable enclosure. The low end is wooly and thick, the midrange has just the right amount of punch, and the top end is classic’50s Fender with detail and balance that few other amps can match. Clear and present, with incredible low end response even at low volumes, the Super allows you to easily dial in the right amount of bite and a touch of overdrive when you dig in. After around 4-5 on the volume dial, the amp cascades into full tube saturation, with sweet, singing overdrive. Thoroughly maintained, this Fender Super sounds every bit as good as vintage amp lore would suggest. The circuit has just been gone through by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and the preamp boasts a bevy of original Black Cat tone caps as well as the original trio of Stackpole pots which date to’54. An original Astron “dynamite” cap is coupled to the Tone control, and the majority of the original resistors are intact too. The power amp has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atom capacitors to ensure optimal performance and stability. The power transformer is the original Triad, and the open bell output transformer appears original or at least era-correct, dating to 1954 although the leads have been spliced. On the faceplate, the stock chicken head knobs are intact and a modest amount of the original white lettering is present as well. The 5D4 circuit was also the first Super to feature a Standby switch, like the example seen here. The amp is fitted with a pair of vintage Jensen P10R speakers with very dark green frames and professional recones, dating to the first weeks of 1960. The stock tube chart is present and quite clean, denoting the 5C4 circuit, but also modified by hand at the factory to reflect the updated tube compliment of the 5D4 circuit (a common occurrence given how quickly circuits changed in the’50s and Leo Fender’s propensity to not waste anything). The amp has an older and extremely well executed retweed, very faithful to original spec and lightly aged. The lower back panel, in contrast, does have its original tweed covering. Comparable only to the Bassman in terms of Fender’s tweed dual 6L6 offerings, the Super is a standout favorite among collectors and players alike! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1955 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this first-year narrow panel model delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. The preamp is very original and only maintained as strictly necessary, balancing originality and functionality. The original Stackpole pots (dating to the 3rd week of’55) and carbon comp resistors are intact, as well as all of the original red dynamite Astron tone caps. The power amp has been professionally recapped as well, and the new caps have been sleeved in the original Mighty Midget wrappers for a seamless vintage look. The amp is loaded with a combination of newer and vintage valves, and all tubes have been tested and work optimally. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen P12Q alnico 12 speaker with a clean teal frame and Jensen sticker. This speaker dates to 1962, and features a new speaker harness with cloth covered wire and Switchcraft 1/4 jack. The other most pertinent date code is the “EJ” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to October of’55. The serial number stamped on the chassis also matches the hand-serialized tube chart. The chrome on the chassis is quite clean, with minimal pitting and the original white silkscreen text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed covering and oxblood grillcloth show only light wear on the edges of the enclosure, with modest ambering of the lacquer on the tweed, and some requisite minor scuffs and corner wear. Both back panels are modern replacements courtesy of MojoTone, carefully aged to match the original tweed on the rest of the amp. This Deluxe is an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session.
