Plug and Play Magnavox 9304-20 Very sought after and highly regarded EL84/6BQ5 Tube Amplifier. Preamp or component with output control is necessary. Works as it should and sounds great, especially through some inexpensive and efficient vintage KLH (model 17) or AR (2ax) or equivalent speakers. Upgraded power and filter caps. Replaced out of spec resistors. Added power switch, fuse block, power cord, and speaker binding posts. Amp is mounted on an unfinished, hand planed slab of Brazilian Cherry, with brushed nickel handles and rubber feet. Thoroughly tested and put to use for a year. All tubes included, as well as a power cord. Tubes will pack separately to help insure a successful transit. Guaranteed not to be DOA. Great entry level amplifier into the world of tube amps. This is Vintage Stereo Magnavox tube amplifier. What you need to do is just Plug & Play and enjoy it! The out put tubes uses 2 x 6BQ5 for stereo and preamp tube uses 12AX7. Its sound is very sweet. As you can see, it is very nice tube amplifier. Original Magnavox logo was attached. 2 output tubes 6BQ5/EL84 are RCA brand. Please see the last photos. Please note that this is about 50 year old amp so nothing is guaranteed. It may be changed for recap, resistors, tubes, wires…. Inputs and outputs terminals are added for convenience. One fuse was also added for safety. Please see the photos. HOWEVER, I GUARANTEE IT IS NOT DOA (dead on arrival). I accept return in 7 days in original status. Realistic tube amplifier serviced and working super fine. No hum with Push-Pull 6BQ5 / 12AX7 amplifier. Rated at 15 Watts. Speaker NOT included but available in one of my other listings. Huge Ampeg tube head in good vintage shape. Needs nothing, ready to rock. A Les Paul with humbuckers sounds monstrous through this Ampeg! You can really dial in some punishing and gritty 1971-type tone. Run it into a 4×12 if you have one. Some people use V4s for bass guitar too, although I feel it is perfectly voiced for 6-string guitar. All EQ knobs and switches work as designed. Most components visible have 1974 date codes. The newest I see is the Northlake output transformer, dating to the 6th week of 1975. Caveats: The back panel is gone. The standby light doesnt seem to illuminate at all. The red power lights shows only the faintest of glimmers. Of course both switches function as intended. Master volume control added (black knob). I believe this is a simple conversion, and thus, simply reverse. The original printed schematic (Revision “F” I believe) is still intact on the top of the inner chassis, though somewhat torn and grimy. Interestingly theres a Bugera 12AX7 tube in the 6CG7 slot. It was there when I acquired the amp. I dont know if this has any bearing on the V-4s sound, but I left it (and all tubes) unmolested. A nearly new, matched quad of JJ 7027A sits in the output section. Other miniature tubes are a mix of Bugera, Electro-Harmonix, and JJ. I’m of the mind to leave a good thing untouched – this is the type of amplifier tone guitarists spend years searching for. This head weighs well over 50 pounds and measures about 11 x 26.5 x 10. This RCA Automatic record changer has just been fully serviced / restored as follows. Idler Wheel: Replaced with idler with new/fresh rubber surface. Mechanism Cam wheel rubber replaced with new. Spindle bearings cleaned and lubricated. Automatic mechanism cleaned and lubricated. Power cord has been replaced with a new polarized cord and plug. Power switch, volume, bass and treble controls have been cleaned and lubricated with Deoxit. Case has been cleaned and polished inside and out. Case has minor scuffs scratches and former use marks. The top and sides of the case have been re-painted. Amplifier has been fully serviced with new electrolytic capacitors. All wax tubular capacitors have been replaced with ceramic capacitors. Tubes all tested STRONG: 12AX7, 35C5, 35C5, 35W4. Tone and volume controls have been cleaned and lubricated to function perfectly.
