Nice & Clean McIntosh MC240 Stereo Tube Power Amplifier. Works as it should. Looks and sounds great. All controls have been cleaned. The troublesome Selenium rectifier & circuit has been replaced with a stable modern equivalent. The thermistor and 2 other electrolytic capacitors have also been replaced. As far as I can tell everything else is all original. The 12AX7 and 12AU7 preamp tubes are Telefunken. The output tubes are Blackplate RCA 6L6′s 2 of which are badged McIntosh. The potentiometers date to 1965. Nice clean solid working unit. Includes all tubes shown. 12AX7-12 for the first stage AU7-6GU7 (1 2BH7 similar tube)-6240 G, and the end stage is a KT88 made in China. The operation has been checked with TV7 and it is unused. So, the sound is coming out without any problem as it is now, but the KT88 is not a problem. The KT88 is a bonus. The life of the vacuum tube has been checked by TV7 before the sale, so I think it can be used for a long time. However, the neon pilot lamp of one of the tubes is broken and does not light up, although it does not affect the sound. The plate current of the KT88 is adjusted to 50ma. I can give you a copy of the manual (excerpt) of the A3000 (kit version) as a reference when replacing the output tube. International Buyers – Please Note. Only the tube main amplifier is a product. EL34M is used for the output tube. 6SL7 is used in the previous stage. ONE VINTAGE 1928 TUBE POWER AMPLIFIER from WESTERN ELECTRIC ERA, for use with one single ended 250 output tube and one 280 rectifier tube, tubes are NOT with this listing, i like my 250 tubes and not parting with them yet. The power transformer tests good, and the input transformer also tests good, no other testing was done. Please note this amplifier never had an output transformer, it was originally connected to a high impedance speaker, and will need some work to use it.
