This Ampex “Fine Line” model 1250 reel-to-reel tape recorder still works and sounds great. It measures 15 inches by 13 inches by 6 inches, and original power cord and Ampex take-up reel are included. Exterior has been meticulously cleaned and is in good cosmetic shape, but does show some minor rust on the side edges of the steel faceplate. Record quality was very good, and all inputs and outputs have been tested and work without humming or noise. Tubes have not been individually tested, no repairs, modifications or upgrades have been performed. See detailed photos for interior shots and to grade cosmetic condition. Offering a Pair of Stromberg Carlson Tube Amplifiers. The units use 2- 6L6 Power Tubes (Not Included). 2- 12AX7′s Not Included. 3- 12AU7′s Not Included. Made in the U. Both units are intact and have been tested. I brought both units up slow on my Variac and cleaned all switches. One unit works pretty good with decent sound, but I feel it could be better with a recap. The other unit was working for a while with a very loud hum and faint sound, but now it has no output at all, it’s dead quiet. Unit powers fine and all tubes light up. I have not done any further testing and at this point. Check out the pictures for a look at cosmetics and the underside. Both units come with Schematic attached to the bottom panel. Pretty rare amp by one of the best sound equiptment companies around. This is a fairchild model 219 preamp. The good news, the faceplate is in beautiful shape. The bad news is someone converted this amp to a one channel amp long ago. The amp turns on and HAS output. Unit has been tested. Transformers are united transformers that i dont believe are original. Meter and standby light are not hooked up. This would be a great project to return to original or use as is for that retro steampunk look!!! I cannon confirm what is present or missing on chassis as limited information other than what is present in the pictures as not many of these amplifiers exist anymore.
