The 1484, along with its mighty 6-speakered sister , the 1485, have become the in-demand Silvertone amps of the current era. Onstage and in the studio with Jack White, Beck, and others recently, the awesome and unique tube sound of the 1484 and 1485 proudly powers the punch of some of today’s best rock. The Dano-built 1484 was a twin-twelve 60-watt amp boasting clear, mighty sound! The catalog listing advertised this amp for guitar or bass usage, and had all the amenities you could want in a medium sized (and priced) package: reverb, tremolo, two channels bridgeable for even MORE crunch! Silvertone 1484 in excellent condition, recently serviced by Andy at Revamp in LA. Electrolytics and filter caps replaced -3 prong power cord and safety ground added; AC polarity switch disconnected -pots cleaned -new Weber WOT1484 replacement output transformer installed the stock transformer in these amps is woefully inadequate and they often blow. Weber makes a custom replacement which captures all the sound of the original but is much more sturdy. Reverb works and sounds awesome -tremolo works and sounds awesome.. I took it to my Tube/Amp Guru, Doug McCalister, and he went through the entire unit. We needed to replace the 12AX7s so I bought a matched set of Tube Amp Doctor tubes. If you have the means and motivation, a set of original West German Telefunkens would make this lady sing even better than she does now! All other tubes and capacitors worked well! Very minimal work was necessary to get this lady singing again. Doug ran it for many hours to make sure everything was dialed in. Everything is balanced and sounds absolutely SUPER WARM and lovely! Replaced the original plastic feet with MUCH larger rubber feet, much better to protect the amp and whatever it is sitting on (see photos). This is the LOWEST PRICED H. The Reverb Unit has been removed from this amp. The way this reverb used to function is that it had alligator clips that you would have to connect to another power source (amp) and than it would function. A little confusing and not that practical. Sometime in it’s past someone took the reverb out. Warm & Lush 1960′s Classic Ampeg Tone. Utah Speaker sounds great. Perfect amp for gigging as well as recording. Light, Compact and Portable. Our Amp Tech serviced this amp. He cleaned all pots, jacks and switches. Replaced the Output Transformer. Replaced Power Supply Filter Caps. Installed a new handle. These Mark III’s have just been completely gone through and had numerous updates to improve reliability, but these amps have not had any audio path mods, hacks, or “hot rods”, and remain true to the original Dynaco sound and character. The Quad caps are brand new, replaced with the upgraded versions from Dynakit, The coupling caps and bias caps were replaced. The old selenium rectifiers were updated with modern parts for better reliability. The rectifier circuits have had updates to extend the life of the rectifier tubes. The input jacks were replaced with new jacks and the old screw terminals were upgraded to binding posts. These amps have also been upgraded with bias balance controls. This update allows the bias to be setup properly for each tube and eliminates the need to have perfectly matched output tubes, allowing for greater flexibility if you want to experiment with different tubes. Amps come with: New 5AR4 Shuguang rectifier tubes (arguably the best new rectifier available today). 1 amp has a vintage National 6AN8 and the other a Dynaco branded 6AN8. The output tubes in both amps are vintage RCA 6550′s. They sound, and work, great. Cosmetics are very nice, I would say above average. There is some very small pitting on the chrome chassis of both units, but overall the chrome still looks very good and has a nice shine. The cages look great. The cages are included, so is the original manual. I have the original “Black Cat” coupling caps I will include if you want them. Really neat vintage Beltone AP-22 amp. I believe this is an early model, it “only” has 3 inputs instead of the usual 4 and does not have a tremolo footswitch. This amp has been totally gone through and works perfectly with very low noise. All the leaky caps were replaced. New grounded A/C cord with internal fuse. New handle (old one was gone), new knobs and NOS preamp and tremolo tubes (6AV6s). One speaker appears to be original, and the other is a Jensen. Power tube is a 6AQ(R)5, and a 6×4 rectifier. This is a VINTAGE 1960′s Alamo guitar amplifier. Made in San Antonio, Texas, USA. I see quite a few of the C. Apri models, but this year Fiesta model with the controls on the back are nearly impossible to find. It is 100% complete and functions properly. I have cleaned the controls and inputs, no scratchy pots. It was recently service, with new capacitors to eliminate the 60 cycle hum. All the controls work. This is a low wattage TONE MONSTER! Controls are volume, tone, tremolo speed and intensity. I added a tone knob and a handle, but they look like they belong on the amp. I doubt you could tell them from the missing original items. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet and knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hour recently and it did not fail, smoke, blow fuses, etc. Old electronic can fail at any time. That is a bargain. This is a VINTAGE 1960′s Gibson guitar amplifier. Made in the USA. Model GA-35 RVT, Lancer. It is 100% complete and functions properly. I have cleaned the controls and inputs, no scratchy pots. It was recently service. The only things needing replaced were the power section capacitors and a bias cap. Both pilot lamps work, as do all the controls. This is a road worthy TONE MONSTER! Channel 1 controls are volume, bass, treble. Channel 2 controls are volume, bass, treble, reverb, tremolo speed and intensity. This is the Gibson response to the Fender Deluxe Reverb. Also similar to the Ampeg Gemini II. The tube lineup includes USA and Holland brands… RCA, Amperex Bugle Boy, Westinghouse. The CTS speaker is dated the 30th week of 1966. Includes a copy of the schematics. This amp is plenty loud enough to gig with. If you are looking for the tone and power of a 100 watt Marshall, this is not your amp. If your looking for the tone of a Fender Twin Reverb without making your ears bleed or breaking your back, you will love this amp… And IT’S A GIBSON!! Up for sale, a 1958 Danelectro Corporal Model 32 tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Recently serviced and very original, this USA-made amp features two original Rola 8 alnico speakers and a complete vintage tube set including the pair of 50C5 power tubes. Great for guitar or harmonica, this amp has a punchy, midrange forward sound that has a distinctive bark, staying surprisingly clean at lower volumes. Dime out the volume and the circuit yields a bit of compression and rich overdrive while still staying quite focused in the bass frequencies. The circuit remains largely original, with the stock capacitors in the preamp, CTS pots that date to 1958, original transformer, and a professional recap of the main power supply. The Rola speakers both have original cones and sound great, and the stamps on the edges of the frames date the speakers to 1958 too. Cosmetically, the amp is very clean and well kept, with original tolex and grillcloth that show sparingly little wear. The plexi Danelectro logo on the face of the amp is intact, and the amp has been fitted with a new leather handle. Perhaps most surprisingly is the immaculate condition of the cardboard back panel with individual portholes for each tube.
