Up for sale, a 1975 Fender Twin Reverb, freshly serviced and in perfect working order. This Twin is freshly retubed with a matched quad of Tung Sol 6L6s and lives up to its reputation for having the most formidable, glassy, and balanced clean tones a tube amp can provide. These tones are further complimented by a pair of vintage Fender-branded and Pyle-manufactured heavy duty ceramic magnet 12 speakers, which have a smooth, punchy, and surprisingly articulate sound. Perfect not only for guitar, the Twin is an excellent choice for any scenario where headroom is a must, performing equally well with a pedal steel or your favorite Rhodes piano. The circuit is very original, with only a few new capacitors necessitated in the preamp to keep the amp operating to original factory specs. All of the original Schumacher transformers date between 1974 and mid-1975, and the power supply has been professionally recapped with a combination of Ruby and F&T caps. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, dating to’75. The chassis has a clean faceplate and full compliment of original knobs. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact, and the pair of Pyle-manufactured 12 speakers have clean blue foil Fender labels on the ceramic magnets, with clean black frames and viable cones. The smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe is quite clean, as is all of the original hardware. The amp was at one time fitted with additional handles on the sides of then enclosure which have subsequently been removed. It has just been completely refurbished by the vintage Fender experts at Pittsburgh Amplification, including new Tolex covering, grill cloth and cabinet hardware. A rare vintage Silverface-era Fender amp, the Vibrosonic uses the 100 watt all tube platform of the venerable Twin Reverb and pairs it with a single 15 speaker. Perfect for situations where maximum headroom, power, and crystalline cleans are essential, the massive Fender-branded Cerwin Vega model P. 15 speaker compliments the circuit perfectly. Whether you want aggressive Tele snap, the rich textures of a pedal steel, or the polyphony and powerful bass response of a Fender Rhodes piano, the Vibrosonic is an ideal choice. The amp also features Fender’s tube driven Reverb and Vibrato (technically tremolo), which add extra dimension to the tone and can be accessed via the original two-button footswitch. The circuit is very original and recently serviced, with stock Schumacher transformers that date to between late 1972 and’73. All of the original blue molded capacitors are intact in the preamp, and the original CTS pots date to early’74. The power supply has been professionally recapped, and the preamp features new bypass caps as well to ensure years of future trouble-free operation. The tube compliment consists of a matched quartet of properly biased Ruby 6L6s, along with a host of modern preamp tubes. The speaker is among the most robust used in any Fender amp, and the Cerwin Vega has a clean orange frame and original sticker on the magnet. The tube chart is partially intact inside the cabinet, which retains its original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The finger-jointed cabinet does show have repairs on the top edges of the cabinet, which have been addressed both structurally and cosmetically, with the tolex carefully glued down after the finger-joints themselves were reglued. The Silverface faceplate retains all of its original turquoise text and full compliment of black witch hat knobs, and all of the original hardware is intact including the tilt-back chrome legs, corners, handle caps, chassis straps, and sphinx glides (feet). This provides a greater range for ensuring optimal tube life and plate voltage. All of the original CTS pots are present as well, dating to’74. The chassis has a gleaming faceplate and full compliment of original knobs. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is pristine, and the pair of Utah 12 speakers have immaculate black frames and original blue foil Fender stickers. The smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with orange stripe is near mint, as is all of the original hardware. The stock set of casters is present too.
