Up for sale, a 1963 Ampeg B-15N “Flip-Top” Portaflex tube amplifier in collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. This exceedingly clean B-15N is a very early example with gleaming chrome, blue diamond tolex, the original full set of matched Ampeg-branded tubes, original Jensen EM1501 speaker, rare tilt-back rod, and original trolley. As the amp that defined the Motown bass sound and a must-have for studios worldwide, the B-15N is the undisputed king of vintage bass tone, with a thick, thumpy sound that is round, detailed, and versatile, bringing out the best in your instrument’s natural tonal characteristics. The two channels each have a unique voice, with Channel One being a bit more mellow and smooth, while Channel Two has a touch more grit and bite, also making it an excellent choice for guitar (diming this channel out delivers a particularly nice overdriven roar with a humbucker or P-90 equipped instrument). Just given a checkup by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, this B-15N is ready for stage and studio use. The circuit features all of the original capacitors, untouched solder joints, and CTS pots which date to the 18th week of 1962. The stock transformers are present, and the serial number sticker inside the cabinet dates to February of 1963. The original multi-pin connection between the head and cab is intact, as is the original two-prong power cable. This ceramic driver sound clear and powerful, keeping low frequencies rich and focused. The original tit-back rod is secured inside the cabinet, a feature only seen on the B-15N until 1964. Cosmetically, this amp is the nicest early B-15N we’ve ever had in the shop, with flawless silkscreen text on a near mint chrome-plated chassis. The stock latches are still mounted to the original tray, and the head features four new shockmounts between the head and tray. All of the original hardware is present including the light up lucite “Ampeg” logo (with a custom Ampeg-factory inscription ostensibly for the original owner) and all of the original knobs. The trolley is original as well. The blue diamond tolex is original and exceedingly clean with some wear on the trolley tolex but only a few minor scuffs on the speaker enclosure edges. Vintage 1950s Premier 76 Amplifier Guitar Harmonica Made In USA. Amp has been tested and is working. The amp sounds great. It is an older amp with an ungrounded, two prong plug so there is a bit of hum. Its nothing terrible except when the tremolo is on. The tremolo does work, it passes an effected signal and responds to the foot switch but when it is on the hum increases and also is clearly impacted by the tremolo effect. Some cosmetic wear as to be expected of something this age. All sales are final. Vintage 1965 Harmony H303B “Widowmaker” amp in good working condition. Amp has been fully serviced with Nichicon capacitors, 3 prong power cable wired in correct polarity no shocks! , and a replacement Jensen speaker from 1999. Still has a full compliment of vintage tubes. This amp still has the original grill cloth and rear back panel and is in good shape. Shows some typical wear including snags and discoloration in the grill cloth, wear to the original tolex, and wear to the original leather handle, but overall well taken care of. Was used with a vintage Aloha pedal steel and wasn’t beat on or abused. No smoke or pet odors. Shows normal signs of use and wear for an amp of its age, but overall a really cool little amplifier that works great and has had the right work done to it to keep it running for the next few decades and to prevent any nasty shocks that earned it the Widowmaker namesake. Vintage 1960′s Univox grey tweed guitar tube amp with matching tremolo pedal- one 12 inch Jensen special design speaker, 5 tubes. Volume, tone, tremolo speed with pedal, guitar & aux inputs, everything works. The cabinet looks good with standard wear, no tears in the grillcloth. The front wood has standard wear, wood chips and a little fraying of the cloth on the bottom. The univox name has long been missing but my expert vintage amp repair man identified it. Very cool working tube amp from the 60′s with a great vintage look. There is a nice demo of one on youtube under Univox test, it is a 26 second clip with also some specs. Hi there, up for sale is a really great sounding 10-12watt Newcomb e-10a amp that has been converted and modified for electric guitar. I performed the work and I do this stuff for a living. This amp gets a great clean and breaks up beautiful with one 12ax7 one nos 6sj7 and two 6v6 jj power tubes. I have done more than just put in some Jacks and call it good. I redesigned the preamp input stages and added a bass control in addition to the treble control. I installed a three prong cord and put in the correct 1/4 Jacks for input and speaker output. The 6v6 power tubes are pretty new and have low hours on them. I installed a 4 way switch above the input jack on top (under the cover but accessible) to adjust the bass or “fat”. I replaced the tube rectifier with a solid state rectifier and a beefier power supply for a bit more voltage and head room. It’s got some great rust “patina” which I personally like. The cover would be very easy to clean up and repaint if you wanted. Cool great sounding old school amp. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for looking! They have great Tone. Lafayette was a budget economy amp back in the 1960′s, but just like Valco they are appreciated for their Tone. We have upgraded this amp with 2 Jensen C12R speakers. These speakers provide warm low and mid response with smooth/bright highs. When presented with overdrive distortion, it presents smooth crunch with low-end focus. These 2 Fisher amps have been fully tested and coupling caps replaced. The original FP cans are still there. Amplitrex tested tubes and new 6L6′s and. One 5V4 rectifier are included. All tubes are included. I may remove tubes. Likely though I will stuff the space with bubble wrap so they. One level pot has been removed. A little less than 30 watts per. Channel with 6L6 instead of EL37 output tubes. Circuits are slightly different. Though model numbers are the same. These have been in my vast collection. For more than 30 years. I will include fisher manual copy and a sams copy. At this point they are ready to use. I would expect these 60 year old amps to need the main filter caps sooner. I have no reason.
