1961 Fender Vibrolux Vintage Tube Amp Brownface Pre-CBS 1x12 Combo, 6G11 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This rare 1×12 “Brownface” version of the Vibrolux is a bridge between the Tweed and Blackface models in both specs and tone, with a glassy, touch sensitive quality, robust cleans, and rich overdrive characteristics when you dime it out. Pushing 35 all tube watts through a vintage Oxford alnico 12LN speaker, there’s plenty to love about the versatility and tone offered by this Fender. The amp has plenty of clean headroom and the sweet sag of a tube rectifier, and when pushed above 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly and cascade into sweet overdrive with just enough bite. The bias-based tremolo circuit also has a very strong, thumping pulse that’s notably deeper than later Fender circuits, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is freshly serviced and largely original, retaining the original Schumacher output transformer and choke which both date to mid-1961. The power transformer is a properly spec’d replacement for this amp with a blank black bell cover. Many of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp and an integral part of the sweetness and clarity of the circuit. All of the stock pots are intact as well (dating to’61) with largely original solder joints and cloth covered wire. The power supply has been recapped, and the bias cap also has a small trim pot piggybacked on it to perfectly dial in the bias of the matched pair of vintage small bottle USA-made 6L6 power tubes. The amp has also been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp tubes are a mix of modern and vintage valves from the likes of Sylvania and RCA. The speaker is the right make and model for this amplifier (Oxford 12LN) and era-correct, although it dates a bit earlier than the amp with a code on the edge of the frame which translates to 1957. Cosmetically, this amp would look great in a studio, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The leather handle is a modern replacement, as is the upper back panel, while the lower back panel is original. The faceplate retains all of the original brown barrel knobs. This Vibrolux is a rare, thoroughly serviced, and largely original vintage Pre-CBS Fender amp that’s ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1961 Fender Concert Brownface Pre-CBS Vintage Tube Amp with Oxford 10K5, Near Mint

Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Concert in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with a vintage footswitch and cover. This Concert is time capsule clean cosmetically, incredible sounding, and complete with a quad of Oxford 10″ 10K5R-1 alnico speakers with long brown metal “Fender bell covers. The combination of the Brownface 6G12-A circuit and four very rare alnico Oxfords is truly something to behold. The amp delivers sweet, dynamic clean tones with incredible sparkle and a certain high fidelity clarity that is noticeable as soon as you strum your first chord. Turn the amp up past 5 and the amp starts to smoothly overdrive with just the right amount of bite and the complex midrange bark that makes Fender’s Brownface amps the perfect middle ground between the growl and attitude of Fender’s Tweed amps and the glassy shimmer of the Blackface era. The EQ controls have an incredible wide sweep, and this amp is uncommonly warm for any Fender, never feeling too bright or brittle, with the perfect amount of midrange and focused low end. The second channel boasts the Harmonic Vibrato circuit, which was the only Fender “Tremolo” circuit to ever have a true pitch shifting effect, with deep pulsating warbles and a wide range of speeds. The circuit is very clean and original, with stock transformers that date to mid-1961, as well as a full compliment of original yellow Astron and blue Ajax molded tone caps in the preamp. The original Astron Minimite filter caps are still intact and functioning as intended, while the smaller bypass and bias caps in the preamp have been swapped in favor of parts within factory tolerances and sleeved in their original Minimite wrappers. The pots date to mid-1961 and are all stock except for one replacement for the Vibrato Speed knob, with the new pot providing an ideal taper. The power tubes are a matched pair of vintage USA-made small bottle Tung Sol 6L6s, and the preamp tubes are all vintage valves from the likes of Sylvania and Amperex aside from one new JJ tube. The Oxford 10K5R-1 speakers are a matched quad, and the elongated brown metal bell covers (only used on the first alnico magnet versions of the 10K5) are an extremely rare and cool accent used for only a matter of months by Fender. Beneath the bell covers, the alnico magnets have date stamps from the 18th week of’61. The tube chart is fully intact on the bottom of the cabinet (the common placement for many of the earliest Brownface amps), with crisp corners and an “KD” date stamp from April of 1961. The original rough brown tolex and oxblood grillcloth are intact and in remarkable shape. As the photos show, the tolex and grill show sparingly little wear, and this amp is a great candidate for any collection or studio. The speaker frames and bell covers are exceedingly clean, consistent with the chassis itself and the Brownface faceplate. The original chassis straps, nickel corners, sphinx glides, and flat “Fender” logo are all in great shape and present. The original dogbone handle is present too and still clings to the handle mounts, although there are splits on the undersides of the handle (a new dogbone is also included). This is an extremely rare Fender Brownface Concert in stunning, original condition, complete with a vintage single-button footswitch to engage the vibrato. The amp also comes with a rare dark green cover, ostensibly original, and while different from the more common Victoria-made covers, we have seen this much rarer cover material on more than a couple early Brownface amps. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1964 Fender Vibroverb Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1x15 with JBL 130A, Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Vibroverb in excellent condition, recently serviced and loaded with a vintage JBL 130A speaker. A very original and clean example of Fender’s rarest and most desirable Blackface amp, the Vibroverb was only made in the Pre-CBS Fender era, lasting from late 1963 through’64. Best known for its association with Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Vibroverb delivers 40 all-tube watts with a dual channel design and tube rectifier. The amp is loaded with a pair of vintage JAN/Phillips 6L6 power tubes, and the JBL speaker has been professionally reconed. The tone is clear and powerful, with dynamic Fender cleans that sparkle and twang. The highly efficient JBL speaker keeps the signal and tight, with very little speaker cone distortion even at high volumes, letting the light compression and velvety tube overdrive of the circuit be heard with stunning clarity when you push the amp near 10 on the volume dial. The Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension with a long decay, and the Vibrato (technically tremolo) has a strong, smooth pulse. The circuit is extremely clean and stock, with all of the original Schumacher-made transformers dating between the 7th and 27th weeks of 1964. All of the original CTS pots are intact as well, dating to early’64. The preamp retains its full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient of the sweet, musical sound of Fender’s Blackface circuits. The power supply features a professional recap of the main filters, and the smaller bypass caps in the preamp have been replaced too. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. In addition to the pair of properly biased USA-made JAN/Phillips 6L6GC power tubes, the amp is loaded with a Sylvania GZ34 rectifier and a host of new and vintage tubes in the preamp as well, all of which function as intended. The tube chart is intact and very clean, with crisp corners and an “NJ” date stamp for October of 1964. The vintage JBL 130A speaker has a professional recone and proper aluminum dust cap, and this speaker is a particularly early JBL, predating the D130F. The speaker has a full, robust sound with no voice coil rub and incredible articulation. Cosmetically, this amp retains its original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, with some light edge wear and a few small spots of missing tolex on the bottom edges of the cabinet. The original hardware is all intact, with some scuffing on the original nickel corners, and modest patina on the original Pat. Pending tilt-back legs, sphinx glides, and handle caps. The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1962 Fender Vibrasonic Vintage Pre-CBS Tube Amp Brownface 1x15 JBL D130, Showman

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Vibrasonic in excellent condition and in perfect working order, with a 100% original circuit and tube set. The flagship combo amplifier of Fender’s Pre-CBS “Brownface” era, this amp delivered 40 powerful, articulate all-tube watts through a single JBL D130F speaker. Along with the Showman, the Vibrasonic was the first Fender to be paired with the hi-fi tones of a JBL, and the Vibrasonic shares an identical chassis with the Showman too (albeit with two 6L6s instead of four). The Vibrasonic features Fender’s unique “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit, and this complex design was Fender’s only true pitch shifting vibrato offered in an amp. Swampy, thick, and very Leslie-esque, it’s a three dimensional, full-bodied tone unlike any other Fender vibrato. The perfect middle ground between the dynamic, saturated tones of the earlier Tweed era amps and the clarity and shimmering cleans of the later Blackface line, this Vibrasonic has a very warm and nuanced sound, with absolutely giant transformers that keep the low end thick and focused. The 6G13 circuit offers EQ controls that have a very wide sweep for everything from classic hollow twang to warm, sweet sounds that will delight any Jazz player. Given the JBL D130F speaker, there’s plenty of clean headroom on tap, but once you get above 5 on the volume dial the amp cascades into raucous, touch-sensitive overdrive. Perfect for guitar, bass, or keyboards, this is a versatile amp that pairs well with just about anything from the era! The circuit is completely original with stock Schumacher transformers that date to late’61, and the circuit is bone stock, with all of the original blue molded Ajax and yellow Astron tone capacitors which are extremely musical sounding and a crucial part of the magic in Fender’s Pre-CBS preamps. The complete set of original Astron filter caps are also intact and still functioning as intended, and the original gray two-prong power cable is intact too. Inside the cabinet, the “LC” stamp on the tube chart conclusively dates production to March of 1962. In terms of the all original tube compliment, this amp features a pair of General Electric 6L6s, as well as a preamp tube set of matching Amperex and General Electric valves. The speaker is an original JBL D130F with a near mint frame and original cone and 21057 cone code. The original harness is intact with cloth wire and a plain metal cap on the 1/4 jack. Cosmetically, this Vibrasonic is a clean example that would look great in a studio. The original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth are present and both the faceplate and backplate are in remarkably clean condition. The original flat Fender logo, brown barrel knobs, and nickel corners are present. The molded plastic “dogbone” handle is a modern replacement. The underside of the cabinet had at one time been fitted with casters which have been subsequently removed, and there are a few light scuffs on the edges of the enclosure. This Vibrasonic is very clean and original, with an untouched circuit, complete vintage tube set, and the stock one-button vibrato footswitch. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! A three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tubes consist of a new pair of Tung Sol 5881 power tubes, with a USA-made GZ34 rectifier and a host of new tubes in the preamp as well, all of which function as intended. The tube chart is intact and very clean, with crisp corners and an “NB” date stamp for February of 1964. The original JBL D130F speaker has a recone with a WHF cone and proper aluminum dust cap, and the speaker has a full, robust sound with no voice coil rub and incredible articulation. Cosmetically, this amp is an absolute stunner which has likely lived its life in the studio, due to the absence of any notable cosmetic wear. The stock smooth black tolex is exceedingly clean, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth has only aged sparingly, with lots of sparkle left in the thread. The original hardware is all intact and clean, with only the faintest patina on a couple of the corners and on the original Pat. 1961 Fender Super Vintage Tube Amp Pre-CBS Brownface 2x10 Jensen P10Q, 6G4

1961 Fender Super Vintage Tube Amp Pre-CBS Brownface 2×10 Jensen P10Q, 6G4. 1961 Fender Super in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This Brownface Pre-CBS tube amp was produced February 1961 with original transformers, a very original and freshly serviced chassis circuit, a full compliment of vintage tubes/tube shields, brown foot switch, and a pair of vintage 1958 blue frame Jensen P10Q alnico speakers with fresh recones. The rough brown tolex is intact along with the original oxblood grillcloth. As the photos show, the tolex and grill are particularly clean, and both back panels are present too. All hardware is stock and accounted for including the dark brown plastic “dogbone” handle, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and flat “Fender” logo on the amp’s face. The circuit has just been thoroughly tested by the Amp Guys (maker of Valve Train amps in Orlando/ invoice included) and the original yellow Astron capacitors in the preamp are all intact. Aside from replacing the two bias caps, adding a bias trim pot, as well as the vibrato caps, the preamp is untouched. The original CTS pots are all intact too. The power amp has been recapped with new F&T caps (encased in the Astron cardboard covering) to ensure reliable, trouble-free use for years to come. 3 prong grey power cord. The tubes consist of a matched pair of USA 5881 RCA along with a host of vintage preamp tubes by RCA and General Electric. The speakers are an original pair of Jensen P10Qs (though non original to the amp). Both speakers have clean frames with only light speckles of rust and clean Jensen labels. A direct descendant of the Tweed era Super amp, this early Brownface example sports the same transformers and speakers as its close predecessor, delivering hi-fi clarity and sparkling, robust clean tones. Turning the amp up past 5 on the volume dial yields thick, chewy overdrive with great touch-sensitive responsiveness and EQ controls that have an incredibly wide sweep. And of course this is the most compact Brownface-era amp to feature the “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit. A true pitch shifting vibrato (not the tremolo found on most Fender amps), the Harmonic Vibrato sound has a thick, Leslie-esque throb and warble, with a three-dimensional quality and depth that is perfectly suited to the speaker compliment and cabinet size. Whether you want a slow, undulating swampy sound or faster, pulsating vibrato, this Super delivers the goods. The item “1961 Fender Super Vintage Tube Amp Pre-CBS Brownface 2×10 Jensen P10Q, 6G4″ is in sale since Thursday, September 5, 2019. This item is in the category “Musical Instruments & Gear\Guitars & Basses\Guitar Amplifiers”. The seller is “mrbill541″ and is located in Winter Springs, Florida. This item can be shipped to United States.

1964 Fender Pro Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1x15 with JBL D130F

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Pro in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. A true Pre-CBS example, this Pro pushes 40 watts of power via a pair of 6L6 power tubes through a single 15 JBL D130F speaker with its original cone. An ideal amp for crystalline Fender cleans and the sparkling, smooth response for which the Blackface era amps are known, this Pro delivers an extremely efficient and powerful sound, perfect for guitar or pedal steel and an ideal candidate for a Rhodes piano too. Tube rectified and notably responsive to your picking dynamics, this JBL D130F-equipped Pro offers a very articulate top end and incredible efficiency and projection, allowing the Pro to easily keep up with a band. The circuit is extremely stock, with a virtually untouched preamp and full recap of the power supply with high quality Sprague Atoms. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp too, an essential part of the sweet and musical quality of the Blackface amps. The Schumacher transformers are all original, dating to early 1964, and the original CTS pots and chassis stamp date to’64 as well. The original faceplate is extremely clean, with stock witch hat knobs and the “Fender Electric Instruments” text used in the Pre-CBS era. Inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is fully intact and only lightly aged, with an “NE” date stamp which translates to May of 1964. The JBL speaker is likely an aftermarket upgrade, but a speaker Fender did offer in this era in their Vibroverb and Showman amps. The speaker has a clean frame and most importantly its original JBL cone with a clean “21057″ cone stamp visible. Cosmetically, the amp is extremely clean, retaining the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The tolex is remarkably well-kept as the photos can attest, with sparingly little aging of the nickel hardware and moderate darkening of the grillcloth over the last 55 years. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Given the narrow voice coil gaps and weight of the JBL speakers, the speaker will also be removed and carefully packed separately for optimal safety while in transit. The speakers require no soldering to reinstall. International orders will be declared as merchandise, and the value of merchandise will be declared as the amount paid. We cannot declare anything as a gift or for a lesser value. The item “1964 Fender Pro Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1×15 with JBL D130F” is in sale since Sunday, May 5, 2019. 1963 Fender Concert Brownface Pre-CBS Vintage Tube Amp with Oxford 10K5, Near Mint

Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Concert in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order. This Concert is extremely clean cosmetically, incredible sounding, and complete with a quad of Oxford 10″ 10K5-5 ceramic speakers with brown plastic “Fender bell covers. The combination of the Brownface 6G12-A circuit and four Oxfords is truly something to behold. The second channel boasts the Harmonic Vibrato circuit, which was the only Fender “Tremolo” circuit to ever have a true pitch shifting effect and sounds incredible, with deep pulsating warbles and a wide range of speeds. The circuit is very clean and original, with stock transformers that date between late 1962 and early’63, as well as a full compliment of original Ajax blue molded tone caps in the preamp. The original filter caps have been upgraded with new Sprague Atoms to keep the amp operating within original factory spec, and the bypass and bias caps in the preamp have also been swapped in favor of parts within factory tolerances. The power tubes are a matched pair of vintage USA-made Sylvania 6L6s, and the preamp tubes are a combination of newer and vintage valves. The Oxford 10K5 speakers are a matched quad, and the stamped brown plastic bell covers are an extremely rare and cool accent used for only a matter of months by Fender. The speakers have date codes between late 1962 and early’63. Two of the speakers retain their original cones, while the other two have been freshly reconed. The tube chart is fully intact inside the cabinet with crisp corners and an MB date stamp from February of 1963. The original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth are intact and in remarkable shape. The only replacement hardware on the amplifier is a newer rubber dogbone handle (much more reliable than the original handle for an amp of this weight). This is an extremely rare Fender Brownface Concert in stunning, original condition. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1955 Fender Deluxe Tweed Pre-CBS Narrow Panel Vintage Tube Amp 5E3 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1955 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this first-year narrow panel model delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The preamp is very original and only maintained as strictly necessary, balancing originality and functionality. The original Stackpole pots (dating to the 3rd week of’55) and carbon comp resistors are intact, as well as all of the original red dynamite Astron tone caps. The power amp has been professionally recapped as well, and the new caps have been sleeved in the original Mighty Midget wrappers for a seamless vintage look. The amp is loaded with a combination of newer and vintage valves, and all tubes have been tested and work optimally. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen P12Q alnico 12 speaker with a clean teal frame and Jensen sticker. This speaker dates to 1962, and features a new speaker harness with cloth covered wire and Switchcraft 1/4 jack. The other most pertinent date code is the “EJ” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to October of’55. The serial number stamped on the chassis also matches the hand-serialized tube chart. The chrome on the chassis is quite clean, with minimal pitting and the original white silkscreen text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed covering and oxblood grillcloth show only light wear on the edges of the enclosure, with modest ambering of the lacquer on the tweed, and some requisite minor scuffs and corner wear. Both back panels are modern replacements courtesy of MojoTone, carefully aged to match the original tweed on the rest of the amp. This Deluxe is an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Deluxe tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order with a complete vintage tube set. Manufactured near the beginning of the Brownface era, this amp has a well maintained 6G3 circuit, providing a perfect middle ground between the warmth and dynamic range of the Tweed amps that preceded it, and the clarity and chime of the Blackface amps that would be introduced a couple years later. There’s an incredible range to the tone controls on this amp, and everything from rich and mellow sounds to twangy and crystalline bite is available at the turn of a knob. The bias based tremolo circuit is deep and throbbing, with a very smooth waveform and a tone that has an almost three-dimensional quality. It’s truly one of the best examples of this classic Fender effect! The preamp has been professionally recapped, and the power supply features new Sprague Atom filter caps as well to ensure that the amp is operating reliably within original factory spec. The original Schumacher output transformer is intact and dates to the 46th week of’61, while the power transformer is a vintage replacement. The CTS pots date all the way back to late 1959, and the circuit retains the original carbon comp resistors and cloth covered wire. The amp features a complete vintage tube set, with a matched pair of RCA 6V6s, a USA-made Tung Sol 5Y3 rectifier, and Tung Sol and Amperex valves in the preamp. The power cable is a modern three-prong variety as well. The stock Oxford 12K5 speaker is intact with a clean frame and date code from the 43rd week of 1961. Inside the cab, the original tube chart is partially present too. Cosmetically, this amp is clean as can be with original rough brown tolex and the original leather handle. The original baffle board has been professionally regrilled with modern wheat grillcloth. The original chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact. If you’re looking for a Deluxe that can be reliably gigged while also being original in the ways that count, this is an ideal example with a complete vintage tube set! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions!
