Up for sale, a 1956 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, with new Sprague Atom filter caps, Mallory tubular capacitors, and carbon comp resistors. The preamp features original Stackpole pots which date to the 41st week of’55, along with a couple of the original Yellow Astron capacitors. The amp is loaded with a matched pair of properly biased Electro Harmonix 6V6s, an RCA 5Y3 rectifier, and preamp tubes from the likes of RCA and Groove Tubes. The speaker is the original Jensen P12R alnico 12 driver with a very clean teal frame and a recent recone. This speaker dates to the 16th week of’56, and retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The other most pertinent date code is the “FG” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to July of’56. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed shows light ambering, with some. Minor requisite scuffing on the edges of the cabinet and a few bald corners. Both back panels are original as well, as is the oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe, while the leather handle is a modern replacement. This Deluxe is an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. 1964 Fender Princeton Non-Reverb Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp Near Mint

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Princeton in stunning, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with a virtually untouched circuit. A first-year example, this vintage Blackface Fender is a true Pre-CBS era Fender gem featuring the early no-logo cabinet design and “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate. Unlike its brother the Princeton Reverb, this non-reverb Princeton has much more clean headroom, as the lack of the reverb effect introduces less gain into the circuit, allowing the amp to be clearer and punchier, with a sound that has sparkle and chime indicative of the Blackface line and perfect for recording situations. The controls are simple and intuitive, and the bias-based tremolo circuit has a nice even pulse with a wide range of available speeds. The circuit is untouched save for a new bias cap which has been cleanly sleeved in the original brown Astron wrapper. The original Schumacher-made output and power transformers date to 1964, and visible codes on the original Stackpole pots date to the 40th week of’64. The famed blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp, instrumental in creating the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface circuits. The tubes consist of a matched pair of brand new EH 6V6 power tubes, with the original Amperex GZ34 rectifier and RCA-branded 12AX7s in the preamp. The tube chart is clean and unfaded with crisp corners and an “NL” date stamp that translates to December of’64. Typically the tube chart date is the latest on any Fender, which is true in this instance as well. The speaker is the original Oxford 10J4 10 ceramic driver which has just been professionally reconed. The speaker has a clean black frame and date code from the 43rd week of’64. The speaker is wired to the original harness with the flat metal cap seen on the earliest Blackface speaker jacks. The nickel hardware on the amp is completely original and the faceplate is particularly clean, with stock witch hat knobs. The stock black tolex and silver sparkle grill are extremely well-kept, with sparingly little aging of the grillcloth which has plenty of sparkle in the thread. This is a no-excuses early Blackface Princeton which delivers a sound worthy of the Fender name. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Princeton in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. This rare, transitional “tuxedo” Princeton features the Brownface 6G2 circuit with Blackface cosmetics, a pairing that only lasted a few short months. The Princeton has a tone that is very dynamic and warm, with crystalline clean tones giving way to rich, saturated overdrive as you turn up the Volume knob. The circuit is as pure and straightforward as they come, and the single Tone knob has a surprisingly wide range. The bias based tremolo circuit has a strong, dimensional pulse and particularly broad range of speeds too. The circuit retains the original pair of Schumacher transformers which date to the very first weeks of’64, and the chassis stamp dates to 1964 as well. The preamp retains a few of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps as well as a host of properly-spec’d modern tubular caps. All of the original CTS pots are intact, with visible date codes form the 39th week of’63. The tube compliment includes a matched pair of Tung Sol 6V6s, with a pair of Tung Sols in the preamp as well, along with a vintage RCA rectifier. The tube chart is fully intact inside the cabinet, and the “NC” date code that translates to March of’64. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen C10R dating to the 20th week of 1964, freshly reconed and very sweet sounding. The original smooth black tolex is extremely clean with only a few minor scuffs and light edge wear, while the baffle itself has been upgraded with a solid piece of pine and aged silver sparkle grillcloth, work which appears to have been done by the late, great Larry Rodgers. All the stock hardware is present including chassis straps, sphinx glides, handle caps, and a set of original white barrel knobs. The original footswitch is included. 1960 Fender Super Pre-CBS Brownface Vintage Tube Amp 2x10 with Oxford 10K5

Up for sale, a 1960 Fender Super in excellent condition and in perfect working order. One of the very first Brownface-era Fender Supers off the assembly line, this exceedingly rare amp is serial number 00085, with date codes from late 1959-January of 1960. Practically prototypical with its 5G4 circuit, this amp features the centrally located Volume knobs seen on the very first Brownface amps, as well as the factory plugged “Pulse Adjust” hole on the rear panel for a feature Fender intended to include, but opted out of in pre-production after the plates had already been printed. A direct descendant of the Tweed era Super amp, this Brownface example is notable for being one of few Supers to retain the same Triad transformers which were central to Fender’s Tweed amps. An incredibly touch-sensitive and dynamic amplifier with surprising headroom, the Super boasts hi-fi clarity and sparkling, robust clean tones. Turning the amp up past 5 on the volume dial yields thick, chewy overdrive, and the EQ controls have an incredibly wide sweep. Of course this is the most compact Brownface-era amp to feature the “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit as well. A true pitch shifting vibrato (not the tremolo found on most Fender amps), the Harmonic Vibrato sound has a thick, Leslie-esque throb and warble, with a three-dimensional quality and depth that is perfectly suited to the speaker compliment and cabinet size. Whether you want a slow, undulating swampy sound or faster, pulsating vibrato, this Super delivers the goods. The circuit is extremely original, and the amp retains its original Triad power and output transformers, while the choke was made for Fender by Schumacher, dating to the 50th week of 1959. The preamp is virtually untouched save for a few new smaller electrolytics and a fresh bias cap, retaining all of the original yellow Astron capacitors which are central to the sweet, musical tonality of Fenders Tweed and early Brownface amps. All of the original Stackpole pots are intact, with visible date codes from the 40th week of’59. The tubes consist of a matched pair of Tube Amp Doctor 6L6s, along with a JJ GZ34 rectifier and a host of newer preamp tubes. The speakers are a matched pair of era-correct Oxford 10K5s, both recently reconed with long metal bell covers for the alnico magnets. Under the bell covers, the magnets retain their clean date stamps from the 43rd week of’61. The tube chart is fully intact, noting the 5G4 circuit and complete with a “JA” date stamp that translates to January of 1960. The amp has been professionally retolexed by 3 Monkeys Amplifiers with correct rough brown tolex, and the baffle has been regrilled with the correct Oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe, another holdover from the Tweed era. All hardware is stock and accounted for including the rare light brown plastic “dogbone” handle, sphinx glides (feet), and flat “Fender” logo on the amp’s face. This Super is freshly tested and serviced, and ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Deluxe tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Manufactured in the brief Brownface Pre-CBS era, this amp has a very original 6G3 circuit, only serviced as needed for optimal performance. Providing a perfect middle ground between the warmth and dynamic range of the Tweed amps that preceded it and the clarity and chime of the Blackface amps that would be introduced a couple years later, this Deluxe offers everything from rich and mellow tonalities to twangy and crystalline bite at the turn of a knob. The bias based tremolo circuit is deep and throbbing, with a very smooth waveform and a tone that has an almost three-dimensional quality. It’s truly one of the best examples of this classic Fender effect. The circuit features the original Schumacher transformers which date to the 36th and 38th weeks of’62, with a closely matched chassis stamp from the 49th week of 1962. The preamp is virtually untouched save for a one new bias capacitor sleeved in their original brown Astron wrapper, and all of the original Stackpole pots are intact too. The preamp features the full compliment of original blue molded Ajax tone caps, essential to the sweet, musical character of Fender’s golden age circuits. The power supply has also been professionally recapped, and the new caps have been neatly sleeved in the original Astron brown wrappers. The tube compliment includes a brand new matched pair of Electro Harmonix 6V6s, an NOS rectifier, and modern valves in the preamp as well from the likes of Groove Tubes and Sovtek. The stock Oxford 12K5 speaker is intact with a minty frame and date code from the 32nd week of 1962, and the speaker has been professionally reconed. Inside the cab, the original tube chart is mostly intact too. Cosmetically, this amp is remarkably clean, with original rough brown tolex, wheat grillcloth, and even the stock leather handle. The original chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact, and the faceplate is very clean, retaining its full compliment of brown barrel knobs. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1964 Fender Bandmaster Pre-CBS Vintage Tube Amp Head Blackface Blonde

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Bandmaster head in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This Pre-CBS Fender piggyback amp features original smooth blonde tolex and a AA763 circuit, typically only seen on the very first Blackface amps. The rare combination of cosmetics on this amp was only seen from the last months of 1963 through mid-64, and this amp sounds particularly good with a matched pair of brand new and freshly biased Tung Sol 5881 power tubes. This Bandmaster delivers the incredible cleans which are a hallmark of the Blackface tone, with sparkle, clarity and definition unlike any amps before or since. Pushing the amp beyond 4 on the Volume dial on either channel yields natural grit and tube breakup, overdriving hard when you dime the controls. The tremolo has a nice strong pulse and a very dimensional sound with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is very clean and original, with the stock Schumacher transformers dating from late 1963-64. All of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors are intact in the preamp and an essential part of the Blackface Fender tone, while the main filter caps have been upgraded to Sprague Atoms to ensure that the circuit is working optimally. The original CTS pots are all intact too, with visible date codes from the 40th week of 1963. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. In addition to the Tung Sol power tubes, the amp features a pair of USA-made General Electric 12AX7 preamp tubes along with modern valves from the likes of Mullard and EH. The original tube chart is mostly intact inside the head, with an ML date stamp that translates to December of 1963. The original smooth blonde tolex shows some scuffs and light signs of wear on the edges of the enclosures, and the baffle has been freshly regrilled with wheat grillcloth and fitted with the original raised Fender logo. The back panel is a modern replacement with matching smooth blonde tolex. The hardware shows its fair share of surface patina yet is all accounted for including the corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and piggyback clip bars. This early Blackface Bandmaster features stock transformers, fresh power tubes, and a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. A modern one-button footswitch for engaging the tremolo is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Vibrolux in excellent condition and in good working order. This rare 1×12 “Brownface” version of the Vibrolux is a bridge between the Tweed and Blackface models in both specs and tone, with a glassy, touch sensitive quality, robust cleans, and rich overdrive characteristics when you dime it out. Pushing 35 all tube watts through a vintage Oxford alnico 12L5N speaker, there’s plenty to love about the versatility and tone offered by this Fender. The amp has plenty of clean headroom and the sweet sag of a tube rectifier, and when pushed above 5 on the volume dial, things start to compress slightly and cascade into sweet overdrive with just enough bite. The bias-based tremolo circuit also has a very strong, thumping pulse that’s notably deeper than later Fender circuits, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit is freshly serviced and largely original, retaining the original Schumacher output transformer and choke which both date to early-1962. The power transformer is a properly spec’d replacement for this amp courtesy of Mercury Magnetic’s Tone Clone series. All of the original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp and an integral part of the sweetness and clarity of the circuit. All of the stock pots are intact as well (dating to late’61) with largely original solder joints and cloth covered wire. The power supply has been recapped with high quality Sprague Atoms, along with new bias and bypass caps in the preamp. The amp has also been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable. The power tubes are a matched pair of Groove Tubes 6L6-GE small bottle valves, with matching Groove Tubes in the preamp and an Amperex “bugle boy” rectifier. The Oxford speaker is original, dating to the 4th week of’62 and sporting a very clean frame and original cone. The stock speaker harness is intact as well, and inside the cabinet, the original tube chart is intact with an LG date stamp, translating to July of 1962. Cosmetically, this amp would look great in a studio, with original rough brown tolex and wheat grillcloth. The leather handle is a modern replacement, and the enclosure shows only some requisite minor marks and scuffs, with light wear through the tolex on the bottom corners of the cabinet. The faceplate retains all of the original brown barrel knobs. This Vibrolux is a rare, thoroughly serviced, and largely original vintage Pre-CBS Fender amp that’s ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Tremolux head in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The amp boasts the sweetness, tonal range, and harmonic clarity that characterizes Fender’s Pre-CBS era Brownface amps, and the circuit is powered by a pair of vintage General Electric 6L6 power tubes. The tone is pure, dynamic Fender clean sparkle until around 4 on the Volume dial where the amp begins to get just a touch of overdrive on the notes before cascading into full tube saturation when you dime it out. The bias-based tremolo circuit has an incredibly deep pulse and the EQ controls have a positively huge sweep. The circuit is extremely original, with all of the stock blue molded Ajax tone caps in the preamp, as well as the stock pots and original carbon comp resistors. All of the original transformers are intact, with a Triad power transformer and Schumacher output transformer which dates to the 22nd week of’62. The power supply has been professionally recapped with new Sprague Atom caps, and the preamp is virtually untouched save for one capacitor which was replaced with a cap of similar vintage. The chassis itself is very clean and the original brown faceplate is intact, complete with a set of original cream barrel knobs. The head sports its original rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth. The tolex is quite clean, with a couple small cigarette burns on top and spots on the side where the sap from the knots in the original pine has caused some staining through the tolex. There is one spot of wear on the edge of the tolex north of Input 1 on the Bright Channel, and some wear on the silkscreened faceplate adjacent to the Volume knob on that channel as well. The original “dogbone” molded plastic handle is intact, along with the original nickel corners and flat Fender logo on the amp’s face. The piggyback clip bars and sphinx glides (feet) are modern genuine Fender parts. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions!
