Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Bassman head with the highly coveted 6G6-B circuit in excellent condition and in good working order. If you’re looking for the incredible power, sweetness, and range of a vintage Blonde era Fender Bassman, you’ll fall in love with this 6G6-B. The tone is robust, authoritative and after about 4 on the Volume dial, the sparkling Fender cleans give way to smooth tube overdrive, with incredible harmonic content and a dynamic, touch sensitive response. A Fender 6G6-B Bassman was used on more Beatles recording sessions than the Vox AC30, was a particular favorite of Pete Townshend, and has become the amp forever linked with Brian Setzer’s classic Rockabilly tones! The circuit is virtually untouched, all of the original transformers are intact, and all of the famed original blue molded Ajax tone caps are present in the preamp as well. All transformers are made by Schumacher (Fender’s primary supplier in this era) with date codes from the 40th week of 1963 to the 19th week of’64. Even the original filter caps and bypass caps are intact and performing their functions well. All of the original CTS pots are intact, along with the original cloth wiring, also dating between late’63 and early’64. A modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The power tubes consist of a pair of vintage 6L6s, and in the preamp, this Bassman boasts three original matching RCA branded 12AX7s and a Telefunken 12AT7 phase inverter. The original smooth blonde tolex and gold sparkle grillcloth are intact and quite clean. There is a bit of light staining on the top and sides of the cab, where sap from knots in the pine cabinet has seeped through the tolex, as well as a few small cigarette burns. The faceplate is quite clean with original white barrel knobs. The original chassis straps, corners, and raised”Fender” logo are also intact, along with the piggyback clip bars. The tube chart is partially intact. This is a rare and well kept example of one of Fender’s most desirable Brownface amplifiers with transitional cosmetics! For you consideration – All Original Ampeg Reverberocket Tube Amplifier. This is a stunner. It had some caps replaced recently by a friend of mine. He has it in tip-top condition. Original Jensen 12 Speaker sounds amazing. These have a wonderful sounding Reverb – or what Ampeg names “Echo/Dimension” as well as a beautiful Tremolo sound. IF you haven’t played one of these – they are kind of Fender(ish). There is a great article in Vintage Guitar Magazine about these written by Dave Hunter. If you want to find out more try to find that article online. They are the only Ampeg Amps known for the early break-up – good for just about any type of Music. BEAM ECHO , Two vintage Avantic DL7-35 vacuum tube amplifiers, complete with transformers, and existing parts and hardware. These original beauties are known for their high quality. The transformers offer superb sound. I heard these amps in the early 2000s. They are currently unfinished project amps and require some assembly– plus tubes. The original owner intended to convert them for use with 6L6 outputs instead of the standard EL34 tubes. But, the project was put on hold and never completed. Please note the photos showing the two amps and their parts in the detailed photos. The first six photos are of amp #1. Amp #2 is shown in photos 8 through 12. Photo #6 shows the parts. This is a DIY project. The amps can be made to accommodate either EL34 or 6L6 output amplifier tubes. No tubes are provided. American 60 cycle, 120 volts. These Beam Echo monaural amplifiers use the Mullard 5-20 circuit (for the EL34 tubes) made without cutting corners, to full specification. Also, of note– the EICO HF35 uses the same design. The condition of the covers on each amplifier is excellent with the original paint intact, but with minor light scratches, one small dimple and some minor paint loss on both covers. Finished packing weight (Two Boxes) is under 72 lbs. The two Beam Echo amps will be combined and placed into two 16×14.5×12.5 inch Boxes, fully protected and insured for safe arrival. 1979 Fender Princeton Reverb Silverface Tube Amp Vintage Guitar Combo #30252. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a 1979 Fender Princeton Reverb Amplifier Electric Guitar Combo Amp. ACCESSORIES INCLUDED: This item comes as seen in photos, and does not include any accessories. PHYSICAL CONDITION: Very Good- There are a few signs of normal wear, including minor blemishing on the control panel. There are a few minor imperfections and a small, half inch tear in the grill cover. The metal parts on the top side are lightly oxidized. Otherwise, it’s in very good condition! WORKING CONDITION: Good- Superb Fender tone, with glassy cleans and substantial grit that really sings at a volume that’s present, but manageable. There are a few inconsistent quirks that stopped appearing after a few minutes of testing, like an odd, brief jump in level or two, as well as just a bit of crackle separate from the natural drive, that came in when really hitting the input with some start-stop chords. These quirks were noted, though not consistent enough to detract much while playing. Most likely artifacts from one of the tubes. Overall, good working condition. UNPACKAGED WEIGHT: 33.5 lbs.
