Vintage Rare Ampex 6973 Stereo Tube Amplifier Amp Refurbished Very Good Condition. This is a very hard to find 1960 Ampex 6973 stereo tube amplifier, it is a power amp and requires a preamp to drive it. It uses 2 – 7199 and 4 – 6973 output tubes, all 6 tubes are vintage RCA tubes (3 of the 6973 tubes are labeled “Knight by RCA”). There are two input level controls which allow you to adjust/balance the input from your preamp. There is also a balance (hum) control for each push-pull output tube set accessible from the top of the amp. There are screw terminals for the two speakers (8 ohm) and also screw terminals for a power-on indicator lamp. The ac power is fused. There are standard RCA jack left/right inputs. The 7199 tubes test strong and the 6973 tubes still sound great, but will need replacing at some point, 2 of them test weak (right channel). I replaced all of the electrolytic and paper capacitors in the amp for long term reliability. I checked all resistors to confirm they were within tolerance and replaced 2 that weren’t. One of the output balance controls was intermittent, so I replaced both controls with new Clarostat controls. I also replaced the two silicon rectifiers with higher rated new ones for future reliability. I replaced the two safety capacitors (AC line to ground) with modern replacements. Other than some of the power supply caps are slightly larger in value, I did not modify the circuits in anyway. Rework is professional level. I added two terminal strips underneath to securely hold the new capacitors. The original capacitor can is no longer used, but was left to maintain the original appearance of the amp. Please make that decision before beginning any modifications to the amplifier. 1961 Fender Champ Tweed Amp with 5F1 circuit. This vintage amp includes all original parts except for the rear panels and it has just been fully inspected and serviced with zero issues. There is typical cosmetic wear in the tweed covering throughout, and a tiny tear in the speaker grill cloth. The original handle works perfectly but has typical wear. All lettering and numbers on the control panel are visible. The original speaker is included but has been swapped for a USA Mojotone. A few caps were replaced when it was serviced but all originals are included. This is an extremely loud and fantastic sounding amp for its tiny size, which is why the 5F1 Champ is so highly regarded. The Fender Champ evolved out of the Champion 600 and 800 which launched in the late’40s. Originally, the Champ was a tweed-covered 4 watt amp with a 6-inch speaker. All of these details would evolved during its production run, with a switch to a black cover coming in 1964. Years of Production: 1953 – 1982 Features: 5-watts, 8-inch speaker, two inputs, volume control. George Valiant 664 Amplifier. Here is a rare St. George amp from the 60′s! It’s in excellent working condition and sounds great. It’s very clean overall with no major wear. The speaker is made by Quincy and has a date code of “767204″ which would be the 4th week of 1952 or 1962. The tubes are Mullard 1022-435 and a GE Electronic. I’m not sure if all of the parts are original to the amp, but everything appears to be vintage. It may take several hours to package your items and send the combined invoice, so please be patient. Conrad Johnson Tube Amplifier Model MV-50. This Amp is in Great Condition. All the tubes light up when powered on and amp seems to work great when connected to speakers. Test on this unit and found that all the tubes work and that the amp seems to be working good. I tested the bias adjust on all four tubes and. Could get the red led to light up on all but one bias adjust. I’m thinking that one red led may be burnt out but I don’t know. After readjustment of bias I can turn the red led off on the remaining 3. (YOU WILL SEE AS PICTURED) The two red leds on the back of the unit for the fuses both work when you take out the fuse which is from my understanding working properly. There are only two small minor scratches on the bottom of the unit. Other then that the unit is Beautiful. I will Pack Amplifier with extra care. Please take a good look at the pictures. If there are any questions please feel free to ask. A few details you may need know. I will always do my best to describe items accurately and take many pictures. Always feel free to ask questions. Please leave Feedback and i will do the same. The item “Vintage Conrad-Johnson MV-50 Vacuum Tube Amplifier 45 watts per channel Works” is in sale since Sunday, February 18, 2018. Has a beautiful 4 speed automatic VM record changer, with auto-45 adapter included! You can stack LP’s on this, 45′s too!
