Vintage 1967 Lafayette made by Univox 2×10 tube amp. Tubes are: Power tubes (2) 6AQ5, preamp (2) 12AX7. Amp works and sounds great- needs pots cleaned and probably tube sockets- a little noisy. Grundig standalone console speaker. Powered, with internal tube amp, power switch, and tone controls. I did not plug it in or attempt to test in any way, tubes are not my area of expertise and I did not want to risk damage. Appears to be complete and original. I don’t know the model name. Google searching indicates it may be a V-Box II? It is similar to some non-amplified Grundigs and stylistically similar to some of the Majestic models. 31″ tall, 21.5″ wide, and 10.5 deep. Cosmetic condition is very good. There are small chips here and there, some minor marks and scratches. The laquer coating on the top has some cracking, it was hard to photograph. It’s a very thick coating. There is a small ding in the trim near the bottom. The grill cloth is stained. Legs are screw in type, and are sturdy. If you need to see additional details or have questions please let me know. Will be expertly packed, these are rare, hard to find, and I don’t want it to get damaged any more that you do. Operational condition is untested, as I do not have the equipment to test vintage tube gear safely and I do not plug it in to avoid damaging it. Item for sale is a vintage AKAI 1710W 4-track reel-to-reel tape player/recorder with wood case. Unit has a built in amplifier and speakers for stand-alone use, and has outputs for use with a component system. Comes with a detachable front cover. Item has been tested and is still in good working order. This unit has vacuum tubes, so it needs to warm up a minute before it will begin playing. Has not been serviced so should probably be lubed. Case has some nicks (visible in pictures) in it and the from metal plate has some brownish stains mainly around the reels and capstan areas. NOTE: Reels not included. Dimensions: 13.5″ W x 10″ D x 14 H. (Funny, this was advertised as being light weight in the 60′s).
