Up for sale here is this gorgeous vintage power supply. It looks like it could power a tube amplifier, but otherwise you could part it out and use the parts in a tube amplifier. This has an extremely nice homemade wood case, as well as the following parts. Simpson DC Volts Meter (0-500). Weston Model 506 DC Milliamperes Meter (0-300, made for US Signal Corps). 3 Toggle switches (1 front, 2 rear). 6 vintage heavy-duty binding posts (3 black, 3 red). Rear AC jack (no cord, sorry). Huge Sprague Atom capacitor. Thordarson Choke (I think it’s marked C330). UTC H-83 power transformer (looks incredible, rated at 115VAC primary, 6.3V 5A secondary, 5V 2A secondary, and either 670v 130mA or 600v 140ma secondary). A few misc resistors and other parts. Hand-drawn schematic on inside. This is an incredible piece of gear, and I really don’t want to part it out, so I thought I’d put it up as a whole before I cut it up. This is untested and I would probably replace the caps or at least bring them up on a Variac for safety. I will guarantee the power transformer to be good. Please see my pictures for details. Cool old Gibson Discoverer Tremolo GA-8T amplifier. I had my amp tech go through and replace the caps. Otherwise all all original – has the original 1961 Jensen speaker in it. Also some of the tubes may not be original as this is an older amp. Has the original built in footswitch. Power cable appears to be the original one. Working well, Great sounding amp. Tremolo working well, footswitch working – the only issue noticed is that when you use the footswtich to. Turn off the tremolo it does not go all the way off, it just lowers the tremolo effect. So you have to turn the. “Depth” knob all the way off if you want no tremolo effect. Nice old amp, Don’t Miss out! Please see all pictures Blond original covering shows age but still good. 1969 Fender Deluxe Reverb Combo. Puts out about 35 watts into a 4 ohm load through two 10 Jensen alnico speakers. The amp is in decent overall condition for its age and has all the good ol’ Fender mojo one could ask for. Two replacement Jensen Alnico. Speakers are P10R with serial number 2201250, which indicate that they were made in the 50th week of 2012. Speaker wire and plug is repro from Mojotone. PT serial number: L022723 606-4-27 CSA 827. OT serial number: 022848 8316605. Choke serial number: 022707 606825. Reverb tranny serial number:022921 606-8-42. The pre-amp tubes are all Electro-Harmonix12AX7EH and 12AT7EH (Made in Russia). The 2 power tubes are Electro-Harmonix6L6EH (Made in Russia). The 1 rectifier tube is a new JJGZ34S. Chassis print on right side of rear panel reads A 12166. Audio capacitors have been changed to yellow Mallory 150 M. This amp most likely had the brown capacitors from the factory. Filter caps, Bias cap, and Electrolytic capacitors on the circuit board have been changed at some point most likely due to amp maintenance. Reverb tank and cover are repros from Mojotone. Reverb wire looks original. Cap can is repro from Mojotone. Preamp tube shields are repro from Mojotone. The amp does not come with a footswitch or cover. UP for sale is one terrific and classic tube amplifier from Gibson… Terrific in its sound, amazing in its simplicity of controls! It’s got two instrument inputs…. Apparently both stay at one volume… But not too loud! I’m going to say it sounds like a 5 watt compact tube amp that is maxed out. 7-10 watts at most. The microphone input is where you get more versatility with this machine. The lone volume knob on the amp is for controlling the volume level on this input. Stays nice and clean at low volumes, with a sound similar to the 2 instrument inputs. Nice, warm, and round, just like a tube amp should sound! But turn the volume up pretty high and/or all the way to max, and you start to get that greasy, dirty, grungy yet sweet F-nder tweed like overdrive from pushing the tubes into breakup and getting the amp to compress that so many legends of previous days favored as their sound (or one of them), like Jimmy Page and Keith Richards! But turn the volume down on your guitar and this amp cleans your signal up just like a good tube amp should! You CAN get more chime-y, jangly V-X type crunch from this guitar if you don’t turn the volume up too high, like at around 4, depending once again on the guitar you are using. So many types of sounds to be coaxed out of this underrated amp. And all with the twisting of your volume knob! Get it now before someone else adds it to their vintage collection!
