Up for sale, a 1977 Marshall JMP 2203 Master Model 100w head and matching 1960A 4×12 speaker cabinet in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Acquired from the private collection of esteemed amp builder Mike Soldano, this 2203 chassis has been fitted into a vintage 50w Marshall head cabinet. Featuring original custom color red tolex on both the head and speaker box, this visually and sonically stunning Marshall is dialed in to perfection with a quad of matched vintage Sylvania EL34 power tubes. One of the first Marshalls to feature the pre-phase inverter Master Volume circuit, this design allows the preamp to saturate and deliver searing crunch at club-friendly volumes. Of course the amp really excels when you dial up both the preamp gain and volume for a thick crunch synonymous with early AC/DC records. The circuit is clean and stock, with original Drake transformers. The chart on the chassis has a handwritten October, 1977 test date. In addition to the Sylvania power tubes, the amp features a combination of modern and vintage preamp valves. The chassis itself is remarkably clean, with a near flawless faceplate and all original knobs intact. The speaker cabinet is loaded with the original Celestion G12M 25 watt Black Back quad, and the speakers each have clean “HL9″ date stamps on the frames and “1777″ stamped original cones. The original red elephant tolex is intact on both the head and cab, with the original pair of large plastic Marshall logos as well as black plastic corners and handles. All of the original piping is intact, along with the original sprung amp feet. Naturally the head and cab have some scuffs and minor tears around the enclosure edges, but overall this set is particularly well-kept. The original back panel for the 50w head enclosure is also included, although it no longer mounts, given the size of the 100w chassis currently in the head box. Here we have a very rare set of Grundig Loud speakers lautsprecher Model Hi-Fi- Raumklangbox 100, with the Grundig Amplifier and the Gundrig Tube Tuner plus some extras. The Speakers are the biggest and the best Hi -Fi speakers made by Grundig. There are 9 speakers in each cabinet, Tweeters, Mids and a Woofer. Same Finish as the Grundig Studio 50. One small ding on the left side of one cabinet. Eache Cabinet: 21″w x 16″d x 33.5 h. Tubes all checked and replaced where needed. Grundig SV 50 Solid State Amplifier which lights up then blows the fuse and doesnt power the tuner. (I connected RT 50 Tuner to another amplifier so I could test it and the Speakers). Included in the package price are these “Extras”. Grundig HSV-1 Echo Unit (included but not pictured). Grundig GDSM 330 Microphones in original box (included but not pictured). Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Vibro Champ in near mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original RCA & Telefunken tube set and factory paperwork. This little Blackface-era Fender wonder delivers five watts of pure Class A tube tone. A surprisingly loud amp with the original alnico 8 speaker, this Vibro Champ has just the right amount of glassy, sparkling clean tone before pushing into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive at about 4 on the volume knob. Dynamic, responsive, and absolutely huge sounding when you put a microphone in front of it, it’s hard to beat the Vibro Champ for pure simplicity and great tone. And of course, Fender’s lush sounding tremolo circuit has a strong pulse and wide range of speeds, perfect for subtle shifts in volume or machine gun chop. The circuit is nearly untouched, with stock Schumacher transformers that date between late 1966 and early’67. The preamp has only a few new capacitors to ensure the amp is operating optimally. The tube chart is extremely clean and fully intact, with an “QF” code which translates to June of 1967. The tubes are all original vintage valves from the likes of RCA and Telefunken. The speaker is the original Fender-branded Oxford 8 with a clean blue Fender label on the alnico magnet and a frame that shows virtually no wear. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are remarkably clean. The faceplate is near mint, with its full compliment of witch hat knobs. The stock handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and chassis straps are all intact, and the hardware shows only light surface patina. The tolex shows barely any wear, and the grillcloth still has plenty of sparkle to the thread. This Vibro Champ is an ideal example of Blackface tone that sure to delight both discerning collectors and serious players, complete with the original tube set.
