Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Princeton in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original catalog, schematic, and envelope. Remarkably preserved, this vintage Blackface Fender was produced in mid-64, placing this Princeton firmly in the “Pre-CBS” era. The amp has both the early no-logo cabinet design and “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate. Unlike its brother the Princeton Reverb, this non-reverb Princeton has much more clean headroom, as the lack of the reverb effect introduces less gain into the circuit, allowing the amp to be clearer and punchier, with a sound that has sparkle and chime indicative of the Blackface line and perfect for recording situations. The controls are simple and intuitive, and the bias-based tremolo circuit has a nice even pulse with a wide range of available speeds. The circuit is 100% original aside from a few new low-noise metal film resistors to ensure optimal performance and an ideal noise floor. The stock transformers were made by Fender’s primary supplier, Schumacher, dating between the 39th and 45th weeks of’64. The famed blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp, instrumental in creating the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface amps. The chassis stamp dates to’64, and the visible date codes on the stock Stackpole pots are from the 34th week of that year as well. The tubes consist of a matched pair of vintage RCA-branded 6V6 power tubes, with an Amperex GZ34 rectifier, RCA-branded 12AX7 and a singular new JJ preamp tube. The tube chart is fully intact with crisp corners and a “NL” date stamp that translates to December of’64. Typically the tube chart date is the latest on any Fender, which is true in this instance as well. The speaker is the original Jensen C10Q which is practically perfect with a deep black frame, near mint gold foil sticker on the magnet, and date stamp from the 23rd week of’64. The stock wiring harness is intact too with the bare metal 1/4 pancake jack seen only on Pre-CBS examples. The hardware on the amp is completely original and the faceplate is nigh flawless, with stock witch hat knobs. The stock black tolex and silver sparkle grill are among the cleanest we’ve ever encountered, and both are clean as can be. This is a pristine, no-excuses early Blackface Princeton which delivers a sound worthy of the Blackface name! The original factory paperwork is included including the original envelope, catalog, and schematic. Up for sale, a 1984 Marshall JCM800 model 2203 “Mk II Master Model 100″ vintage tube amp head in excellent condition and in perfect working order. One of the first Marshalls to feature the pre-phase inverter Master Volume circuit, this early vertical input JCM800 allows the preamp to saturate and deliver searing crunch at club-friendly volumes. Of course the amp really excels when you dial up both the preamp gain and volume for a thick crunch. The circuit is clean and stock, with original Drake transformers. The chart on the chassis has a handwritten 3-29-84 test date. The amp features a new quad of freshly biased EL34 power tubes, and a trio of modern preamp tubes as well. The chassis itself shows some oxidation and light surface wear, while the gold faceplate is quite clean with all original knobs intact. There is modest wear through the black silkscreen graphics, particularly above the knobs and adjacent to the inputs. An extremely rare iteration, this Marshall was originally imported to Japan. Curiously, the amp was never wired for anything but USA 120v power, and the amp has recently been fitted with a modern three-prong power cable (the polarity switch on the rear panel has been disconnected). The original tolex shows only a few small tears and nicks on the back edges of the enclosure, and the original large Marshall logo is fully intact. 1980s Peavey Rock Master Vintage Tube Series 120w Amp Head. Tolex is great only real flaw is the top grill screw holes has chipping (see photo). I had her rewired and the fuses replaced with higher quality. The tubes are what were in it when i acquired it. They still have plenty of bite left, but I would suggest replacing them as they are a mixed bag, with some RCA 6L6s and the 12AX7s are a mixture of original Peavey and Bugeras. This amp is a screamer. Comparable to the classic Marshall JCM800. Original foot switch is included. I have this amp listed elsewhere as well as locally. I reserve the right to end this listing upon its sale elsewhere. I pack safe and secure. This is a rare, hard to find gem of a tube head. Do your research, read the blogs and reviews.
