1969 Fender Bassman Drip Edge Silverface Vintage Tube Amp with 2x12 Cabinet

Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Bassman head with accompanying tall 2×12 speaker cabinet in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This fully serviced vintage Fender head has transitional “drip edge” aluminum trim and an early Silverface faceplate. Recently retubed and biased with a pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, the circuit has been “Blackfaced” and reverted to the original and most revered AA864 design. The amp has a clear, powerful Fender tone that’s ideal for use with guitar or bass. The perfect platform for players who use a variety of pedals, the Bassman delivers a robust and dynamic tone, and after around 5 on the Volume dial the amp starts to push into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive. The circuit features the original power transformer and choke produced by Fender’s primary vintage transformer supplier, Schumacher, while the output transformer is a vintage-spec replacement, also Fender-branded and produced by Schumacher. The circuit features a professional recap of the power supply with new Sprague Atoms, as well as a new bias capacitor and a few new caps in the preamp to ensure everything is operating within original factory spec. All of the original CTS pots are intact, dating as far back as early’68. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The chassis itself is quite clean, with a stunning Silverface faceplate, turquoise lettering, and original black witch hat knobs. The original tube chart is also present inside the head cabinet. The cabinet is loaded with the original pair of Utah-made Fender-branded speakers with immaculate black frames, original cones, and clean orange and silver foil labels on the ceramic magnets. The cab is 100% stock and sounds great, perfectly amplifying the bold, round cleans and smooth drive of the Blackfaced AA864 Bassman circuit. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact on the head as well. The stock corners, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact. The piggyback clip bars are present too, but do not connect to this vertical cab configuration. Cosmetically, the head and cab show some minor scuffs and edge wear, but as the photos can attest, this vintage Fender presents very well. Freshly retubed and recapped and reverted to the coveted AA864 Bassman circuit, this vintage Bassman head and 2×12 cab delivers the goods in an imposing, gig-worthy package. 1968 Fender Vibro Champ Drip Edge Vintage Class A Tube Amp with Blackface Circuit

Up for sale, a 1968 Fender Vibro Champ in excellent condition and in perfect working order with transitional cosmetic features. One of the first Silverface-era Fender amps produced, this Vibro Champ features “Drip Edge, Black Line” cosmetics, with aluminum trim framing the grillcloth and slender vertical black lines on the faceplate. Under the hood the circuit is identical to Fender’s Blackface amps of just a few months prior, and the Vibro Champ’s five watt Class A circuit delivers clear, chiming cleans and raucous, sizzling drive with a twist of the Volume knob. The Vibrato has a nice pulse and chop too, and this amp is a studio and apartment-friendly combo that delivers a dynamic, sparkling vintage Fender sound. The circuit is largely untouched, with original transformers that date to the first weeks of’68, and CTS pots that date back to 1966. All of the original pots are intact save one, and the preamp only has a few new capacitors as necessary to keep the amp functioning optimally. The tube compliment includes a modern Grooves Tubes 6V6 power tube, with a vintage Jan/Phillips 5Y3 rectifier and pair of modern preamp tubes. The speaker is a modern 8 replacement courtesy of Weber, and the ceramic magnet keeps the low end tighter and fuller than the stock speaker. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe is intact, and the grill features both the transitional aluminum trim and small tail-less Fender logo only seen on the very first Silverface Fender amps. The grillcloth shows light uniform aging, and all of the original hardware is intact with modest surface patina including the handle caps, chassis straps, and sphinx glides (feet). The enclosure shows only one notable divot on the top edge adjacent to one of the chassis straps. 1998 Marshall 1987X MKII 50-Watt Plexi Guitar Amplifier in excellent overall condition. This Made in England plexi is built to last forever and it works perfectly with zero issues. It was recently serviced and sounds outstanding! It has a few very tasteful mods that were professionally done, including a PPMIV Master Volume, an optional push/pull Bright Cap mod on the Lead Volume, a common ground bus, and new main power tubes. Everything else is all original. The PPMIV Master Volume is located where the Presence knob normally is and allows for ultra high gain at bedroom levels. Since this 50-watt amp is so loud, the master volume is a welcome addition. The Presence knob has been moved to the rear. The push/pull Bright Cap is located at High Treble Loudness 1 and is completely disengaged when pushed in. When pushed out it adds extra brightness to the high frequencies resulting in extra gain and it sounds glorious. The common ground bus makes the amp completely silent and all volume levels and lowers for much more clarity in your sound. The original tolex is in good condition overall with a couple small tears and scuffs here and there but nothing major. The handle works perfectly. Marshall Vintage Reissues Sound Exactly Like the Original! Though the 50-watt Marshall 1987X shares the same front and rear panel features as its big brother, the 1959 SLP, it does have its own distinct personality. Sweet warm singing sounds are packed into every nook and cranny of this great tone machine. Mix two channels together for a totally unique sound. Vintage Marshall through and through. The main characteristic that these amps share is their simplicity of operation and superb natural valve tone. The result is pure, majestic tone uncluttered by unnecessary circuitry. This produces a big, round, warm, sustain, full of classic character. With chord work you get a bark and percussive attack with a natural sounding breakup, which allows each note to ring out in a glorious musical crunch. Mix two channels together for a totally unique sound With the Marshall 1987X, you can mix the two channels together by connecting a short, screened patch lead between the second input of channel one and the first input of channel two. If you then plug your guitar into the first input of channel one, you can mix the different tonal characters of each channel for greater flexibility! Vintage Marshall through and through As is the case with the 1959SLP, the 1987X has fittings and hardware as true to the originals as humanly possible, thus ensuring that authentic Marshall Vintage look. Preamp Valves: 3 x ECC83 preamp tubes and 2 x EL34 power amp tubes. A faithful reproduction of the original, the Marshall 1987X is just what you’re looking for! Our amp tech went through this amp and she’s all ready to go. The Dano-built, black-covered 1472. Was part of the new, sleek look of the early 60s, part of a quartet of’combo’ amps that were portable, with clean lines and prominent front-mounted controls. On this model and its bass brother, the 1473, a hefty’refrigerator’ handle was also part of the package. Tremolo was included on this amp. He 1472 shared a unique look among its catalog mates. No other amp had vertically mounted front controls or zigzag knobs. These amps always reminded me of a TV, and with the one-eyed monsters’ ascendancy in the early’60s, it kinda makes sense. 1969 Fender Bassman Amp Silverface Drip Edge Tube Head Amplifier Vintage

1969 Fender Bassman Silverface Drip Edge Tube Head Amplifier – Vintage. Here is an early example of a Fender Bassman Silverface Drip Edge. This Fender Bassman exhibits some minor cosmetic wear and small scratches on the faceplate but is in good condition overall. There is not a lot of wear on the Tolex like other heads of this age you see on the market. The Fender Bassman is fully functional and operates as intended. The previous owner swapped the original filter caps with 22uf 500v as well as giving it a complete set of new GT tubes. We put this amp through its paces and it sounds great and offers a ton of clean headroom! The amp has a gorgeous “bubbly” tone at it’s lower volumes but when it’s pushed, the richness begins to thicken up without getting too “fizzy”. At high volumes, a transparent overdriven tone is introduced that is great for those creamy, soloing leads. The amplifier was built with bass players in mind but is also a great head for guitar players as well, especially ones with lots of effect pedals. The item pictured is the one you will be receiving. No additional accessories included. Tone House Studios has new Guitar and Recording Studio gear being added every week! Be sure to check out our world-class.
