The Fisher Model 500 Receiver Mono Tube Amp Works 1950′s Vintage. Lettering has faded but considering its age its in great shape. See pics for best description of condition. One knob (far right) has been replaced with a non oem one. The unit was tested and works. The only thing I noticed when testing was there is slight static when turning volume knob at a low Db the static does go away once the knob isnt turning even at low decibel. There is no static at all once volume is at Id say 20% or higher. Most likely the volume pot needs do dioxit or it can be left alone. Any questions please feel free to ask me. Vintage Fisher 500-C tube FM Stereo receiver in excellent overall condition. Works well with no hum. Very clean chassis and faceplate as it was removed from a custom console; and was acquired from the original owner. Comes with original Service Manual. Inspection tag still on the cord. All brass knob caps are intact. Faceplate printing is great though there are a couple of nicks and scratches on the faceplate. Chassis printing show some wear and tape residue. Power switch works fine. Ive been running it for several days with no issues. All tone, volume & balance controls work fine. FM Stereo Beacon works on Auto; received several stations. Signal strength meter works. Dial illumination works on both sides. Phono and Aux work fine too. Audio is equal on both sides. It has been serviced sometime in its history as I see the black tube is wrapped in tape. I have no idea when the work was done but estimate years since its been last serviced, so plan on having it checked out by a qualified tech for daily use as this unit is well over 50 years old. So, while fully working, it may not be perfect, so consider this a repair or restoration project. I will have a video demonstration video available as proof of function. Fisher 400 Wide-Band FM Multiplex Receiver. I still love the tube sound though. This stereo looks and sounds great. AUX and Tape sound fantastic through the iPhone and Android. Phono tested fine with my son’s Crossley (all I had). FM Tuning Stereo Beam works well as does reception but the only strong signal I could get was talk radio. Radio had some distortion but I could not tell if it was due to reception or not. It could be my cheap flat wire antenna as well but never really needed radio. The radio dial is off so when tuned into 105.9 it reads 105.0 (see photo with Stereo Beam). My modest research suggests these issues are not uncommon and can be addressed. Loudness switch button broke but the functionality still works. It was a was a clean break. I have the piece (see photo) that fits perfectly like a puzzle piece. Will easily glue on when faceplate is removed but have left that up to you. All knobs are complete. Headphone jack was tested and works. I have priced this accordingly as I will restore myself before giving it away. This really is a nice unit and is a perfect candidate for a total restoration.
