Superbass was the model of amp wich Malcolm Young of AC/DC used and vintage bass tube amps are very loved for stoner musicians around the world. This amp was probably made to USA market because was designed to 6550 (usual in USA, Zakk Wylde for example). Probably for this it has a cabinet from period after (original Marshall but 78-81 era which fits perfectly without problems). Other reason can be this period was Marshall transition period. Este amplificador fue parte de un modelo concreto de Superbass que se comercializó para el mercado americano porque inicialmente estaba diseñado para válvulas 6550 típicas para los Marshall en América (Zakk Wylde por ejemplo). Seguramente también sea por esto que el mueble sea de apariencia posterior pero original suyo (aunque Marshall original también, de la época entre el 78 y 81 y el cual se inserta perfectamente). Otro motivo puede ser la transición de Marshall en ese momento. El transformador de entrada es de la época posterior, del 78 al 81. Revisado y puesto a punto con válvulas de potencia nuevas en Noviembre de 2019. Se adjuntan piezas cambiadas. Factura y 3 meses de garantía incluidos. Up for sale, a 1972 Marshall JMP Tremolo 50 model 1987T in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with footswitch. One of the last point-to-point turret board 50 watt Marshalls in the small head box, this Tremolo 50 is outfitted with a matched pair of EL34 power tubes and delivers rich, textured British drive as only a Marshall can. There’s plenty of clean bite and headroom before pushing into sizzling overdrive, and the Tremolo 50 makes good on the promise of its model name with an additional 12AX7 preamp tube not found on your run-of-the-mill 50 watt, with Speed and Intensity controls to govern the chop and throb of the tremolo circuit. The circuit is very original and thoroughly serviced, with a bevy of vintage mustard tone caps in the preamp on the turret board, one of the last before Marshall switched to PCBs in’73. The original Drake transformers are intact, and the preamp and power supply has been recapped as needed to ensure optimal performance. The inspection tag on the chassis is dated 21-4-72. Both the original metal faceplate and back plate are intact, with all original knobs present and the tell-tale Polarity switch on the faceplate seen on Marshalls imported to the USA. This feature was phased out in the mid-70s and this switch is no longer active, given the modern three-prong power cable. The faceplate graphics are clean, and the head retains its original raised small Marshall badge and gold piping. The original handle is present too and the stock black tolex shows only light wear from the past nearly 50 years. A vintage metal wedge footswitch of the appropriate size and shape is included to engage the tremolo, fitted with a modern cable which has the correct four-pin input. 1998 Marshall 1987X MKII 50-Watt Plexi Guitar Amplifier in excellent overall condition. This Made in England plexi is built to last forever and it works perfectly with zero issues. It was recently serviced and sounds outstanding! It has a few very tasteful mods that were professionally done, including a PPMIV Master Volume, an optional push/pull Bright Cap mod on the Lead Volume, a common ground bus, and new main power tubes. Everything else is all original. The PPMIV Master Volume is located where the Presence knob normally is and allows for ultra high gain at bedroom levels. Since this 50-watt amp is so loud, the master volume is a welcome addition. The Presence knob has been moved to the rear. The push/pull Bright Cap is located at High Treble Loudness 1 and is completely disengaged when pushed in. When pushed out it adds extra brightness to the high frequencies resulting in extra gain and it sounds glorious. The common ground bus makes the amp completely silent and all volume levels and lowers for much more clarity in your sound. The original tolex is in good condition overall with a couple small tears and scuffs here and there but nothing major. The handle works perfectly. Marshall Vintage Reissues Sound Exactly Like the Original! Though the 50-watt Marshall 1987X shares the same front and rear panel features as its big brother, the 1959 SLP, it does have its own distinct personality. Sweet warm singing sounds are packed into every nook and cranny of this great tone machine. Mix two channels together for a totally unique sound. Vintage Marshall through and through. The main characteristic that these amps share is their simplicity of operation and superb natural valve tone. The result is pure, majestic tone uncluttered by unnecessary circuitry. This produces a big, round, warm, sustain, full of classic character. With chord work you get a bark and percussive attack with a natural sounding breakup, which allows each note to ring out in a glorious musical crunch. Mix two channels together for a totally unique sound With the Marshall 1987X, you can mix the two channels together by connecting a short, screened patch lead between the second input of channel one and the first input of channel two. If you then plug your guitar into the first input of channel one, you can mix the different tonal characters of each channel for greater flexibility!
