Thanks for stopping in. Up for sale is a Univox U-1226 Amplifier restoration. This amp is fully restored and in excellent condition. You will not find many of these in this condition. Intended for guitar, this amp’s tone circuitry and effects remain true to the original designer’s intentions. This amp sounds great, has lots of vintage sound, and plenty of punch. This amp is equipped with two (2) channels, Channel 1- High Boost, and Channel 2- Normal, each with Normal and Bright inputs with individual Volume controls. Channel 1 incorporates a High Boost Pull Switch on the Channel Volume. The two channels then mix into a single tone section incorporating Bass, Middle, Treble, and Presence controls. Channel 1, additionally, feeds the Reverb circuit incorporating a Pentode Driver and Accutronics (USA) pan and is provided with a Reverb Depth Control. A Bias Wiggle Tremolo circuit (a departure from the 12AU7 Driven circuit which tends to be noisy) rounds out the effects with Speed and Intensity Controls. Both effects are full and deep. This amp achieves clean output up to 51 Watts RMS. This amp is equipped with an all-vintage pre-power tube line-up and includes a well matched pair of Svetlana 6L6GCs. This amp has low noise (a choke, similar to those in the higher power Univox units, has been added to keep noise in check), has been burned in, extensively tested, and documented. This amp is provided with schematics including an As-Built and As-Restored conditions. An impedance selector switch allows for choosing between 8 and 16 ohm outputs. The U-1226 has a bit higher power than the earlier two 6L6GC models, and unlike most of them, has a TMB Tone Section and Presence, providing a greater array of tone shaping. Channel jumping can also provide some additional variation, mixing the Normal and High Boost Channels. A Custom Lighted foot switch and Amp Cover with embroidered Emblem are available at additional cost. This amp includes a number of safety and protection upgrades including IEC power cord connection with grounding, AC line safety capacitor, varistor surge protection, HT fusing, an HT discharge resistor, and OT output protection resistor. The transformers are original. All power supply and other electrolytics, and resistors beyond 10% of their original ratings have been replaced. An adjustable fixed bias circuit is original to this circuit. This amp has new knobs, new black Tolex, new hardware, new handles, and new rubber feet. There are minor scratches, imperfections, and metal oxidation typical of an amp over 50 years old. During this period, you may return the unit for any reason. A detailed explanation of the problem(s) is required prior to the unit’s return.
