Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Super Reverb in excellent condition and in good working order. This Pre-CBS amp has been incredibly well cared for over the past nearly 50+ years, and comes from the first year of production. However, what truly makes this Super a rarity and a tonally exquisite example is the quad of original Jensen C10R speakers, arguably the rarest speaker quad used in this amp during the Blackface era. As a result, the tone has a hi-fi clarity, punch, and detail rarely afforded a Super Reverb and to round things out the amp is fitted with a complete vintage (and likely original) tube set including a matched pair of Fender-branded RCA 6L6GCs. Perfect for gigging situations and an ideal recording amplifier, the amp provides you with plenty of pristine Fender cleans until you hit the 4-5 range on the volume dial, where a bit of tube and speaker breakup send the amp into smooth overdrive. The reverb is lush and deep, and the tremolo has a nice pulse, with everything from swampy and slow to machine gun fast tremolo. The circuit is untouched save for a new three-prong power cable and even the original compliment of filter caps are still working as intended. All of the original coveted blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact too, and an integral part of the sweetness and detail of the Blackface sound. All of the original Schumacher transformers feature date codes from early’64, and the original CTS pots also date to 1964. The chassis itself is very clean as is the original blackface faceplate, which has been fitted with a new compliment of witch hat knobs. The tubes consist of a matched pair of “Made for Fender by RCA” 6L6GC power tubes along with a compliment of General Electric and RCA preamp tubes. In terms of the speakers, this Jensen quad is completely original, with matching late 1964 codes and the original harness. The speaker cones are all original, and the amp has a very strong, clear tone, as these cones have seen limited use over the decades and still reproduce focused lows and chiming highs. All four speakers retain clean square Jensen labels on the ceramic magnets, and the black frames show sparingly little wear. The original smooth black tolex is clean and original with little wear, while the original baffle features new aged silver sparkle grillcloth. The lower back panel is original and the upper panel is a modern replacement. The original nickel corners, sphinx glides (feet), chassis straps, chrome tilt-back legs, and raised “Fender” logo are present, and all hardware is in excellent shape. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has been expertly maintained to balance function with originality. Stocked with fresh 6V6 power tubes and an assortment of new and NOS preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has great midrange content, light compression, and starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. Professionally recapped so the power amp is stable and working as per factory spec with a very low noise floor suitable for recording, the amp also features a modern three-prong power cable. The preamp is loaded with an assortment of vintage Fender blue molded caps and all of the original Schumacher transformers are present, with date codes spanning late 1965 and early’66. The CTS pots date back to the 45th week of’65 and the tube chart is intact with an “PC” date code which translates to March of 1966. The original Oxford speaker also dates to 1965 with the original blue foil Fender label on the magnet and a fresh recone. Cosmetically, the amp is very original overall, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. There is moderate aging of the grillcloth and some minor scuffs around the edges of the tolex as well as one small cigarette burn on the top. The original hardware is all present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate is also quite clean with stock witch hat knobs. This is a very original and well maintained example of one of Fender’s most famous Blackface amps, complete with the original two-button footswitch. 1965 Fender Bandmaster blackface AB763 vintage amplifier in good cosmetic and working condition. This is been used in my smoke free home studio only – never gigged. The vintage Fender tone that comes out of this amplifier is pure bliss. It’s quiet, all knobs move smoothly… The only noticeable scar is on the faceplate by the eq section of the normal channel. I added the back panel with a exact hand made replica as the original was missing at the time I got the amp. It has all the original blue molded caps and all date codes are correct… Brand new power Ruby tubes were just installed. These are becoming collectible and this one is not going to disappoint. The vibrato has a very slight tick, barley noticeable, but wanted to be upfront. Here is a chance to own a real point to point vintage Fender tube amplifier. The filter caps have been updated at some point. A newer single button footswitch is included. A heavy duty 3 prong cord was added prior to me owning the amp. Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With a very original AB763 circuit, stock Oxford speaker, and clean cosmetic appearance, this Deluxe comes from very early in the amp’s Silverface run and matches up closely with earlier Blackface specs. The amp boasts a fresh pair of Electro Harmonics 6V6 power tubes and a host of original RCA preamp tubes as well. This amp excels at delivering sparkling, detailed cleans with great headroom, and the lush reverb accentuates the chiming, smooth treble response. Both channels sound distinct and strong, and turning things up past 5 on the volume dial introduces glassy overdriven textures and a touch of compression. It’s everything you could want from a vintage Fender amp. The circuit is clean and original, with original Schumacher transformers that date to late 1969 and very early 1970. The CTS pots date to’70 as well, along with the original Oxford 12L6 speaker. The speaker has a clean black frame, blue foil Fender label on the ceramic magnet, and the original speaker cone. The tube chart is intact on the inside of the cabinet as well. Also of note is the original screwed-in baffle which matches Blackface specs (replaced soon after by a less desirable glued-in and thicker baffle). Cosmetically, this amp is quite clean overall, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. This grillcloth has the turquoise stripe in the thread common for Fender in the early’70s and shows a bit of aging while still presenting well. Both back panels are original and the faceplate is quite clean with original witch hat knobs. The original two-button footswitch is included. A true road warrior, this amp features the famed AB763 circuit and has incredible headroom and power, something that instantly sets it apart from its reverb equipped brother. Since the addition of the reverb effect into the Fender circuit essentially adds another gain stage, the non-reverb Deluxe really stands out as Fender’s premier 1×12 Blackface combo amp, with incredible warmth, EQ balance, and clarity. Perfect as a platform for pedals and an ideal amp for studio use, this Deluxe captures the quintessential Fender clean sound, with smooth tube overdrive and a hint of compression at higher volumes. The circuit has been freshly serviced, with new F&T filter caps sleeved in the original cardboard tubes and a largely original preamp that retains the famed blue Ajax tone caps which are essential to the sweet, musical Blackface sound. Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Twin Reverb in excellent condition and in good working order. Very clean and well maintained, this Twin delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, smooth EQ and present, sparkly Fender top end. When it comes to the quintessential Blackface Fender amp for clarity, headroom, and the balanced, authoritative response of a four 6L6 driven tube amp, it’s hard to beat the Twin Reverb. The top end chimes and twangs without being brittle, and the low end has fullness without being too overbearing; it’s as classic and pure a design as Leo Fender ever created! The circuit has been thoroughly serviced and features all of the original blue molded Ajax capacitors in the preamp, along with all of the stock CTS pots and cloth wiring. A number of the resistors have been swapped with newer metal film two watt resistors known for their clarity and low noise floor, and the main filter caps have been replaced with high quality Sprague Atoms to guarantee years of future trouble-free use. The power tubes are a quad of vintage JAN/Phillips 5881/6L6WGBs and the preamp tubes are mostly vintage valves as well, with a couple RCAs and a Mullard in addition to a few new Groove Tubes 12AX7s. The original output transformer, reverb transformer, choke are stock, while the power transformer is a genuine vintage Twin transformer from the’70s and it is otherwise identical to the original. The speakers are a pair of era-correct Jensen C12Ns, with clean black frames and original brown and gold foil stickers on the magnets. These speakers easily handle the power of the Twin, and the wiring harness is partially original, with new leads going to each speaker. The dates on the edges of the speaker frames are from the 19th week of 1969. The tube chart is intact, with a “QB” date code which translates to February of 1967. The original black tolex is particularly clean, with only a few very small scuffs. The grillcloth has been professionally replaced and lightly aged to have a genuine vintage look, and the baffle has been upgraded from the stock MDF to a piece of solid pine for better overall tone and durability. All of the original hardware is present including the chrome tilt back legs, nickel corners, sphinx glides and handle.
