This listing is for a Vintage 1978 Traynor YBA-1 Bass Master Guitar Amp with Matsushita Mullard Tubes! The two 6CA7/EL34s are Westinghouse branded, marked Japan with an O getter and have a seam on the top (very faint on one) indicating that they are Matsushita Mullards. The three 12AX7s are GE branded, marked Japan with an O getter and have a seam on the top indicating that they are also Matsushita Mullards. The serial number (8010404) indicates that it was manufactured in January 1978. Prior to listing it was tested using a cabinet and Squier Strat that we keep for testing. It played beautifully, with a huge sound and very little hum – more of a quiet hiss, really. In fair cosmetic condition, for its age and would benefit from a deep cleaning. The power transformer is mounted at a slight angle – we’re not sure why. This is the only one on the market with a premium tube set – don’t let it get away! Powered by SixBit’s eCommerce Solution. Ampeg B-15N in good working condition. New JJ 6L6 Final tubes, all other test good. There is a modification with the top. The clips where removed and 2 metal brackets where installed the cabinet and thumbscrews hold the top onto the cabinet. There is also 2 metal strips riveted to the back, not sure why there are there, both where like that when I got it 3 years ago. The speaker code shows an Eminence 15 speaker with a date code of’78. Sound City B120, theoretically the bass version, but no real difference between them. The amp made famous in the modern age by Electric Wizard. Been recapped and a bunch of work done, still some hiss from the preamp, but manageable at the sort of volumes this should be operating at. Sleeve has been recovered not super well, but it functions. This one has Partridge transformers. Obviously this is a heavy lump, but I can have it couriered, would massively prefer collection though. Vintage Ampeg B-15N Portaflex fliptop amp has some cosmetic wear but sounds great. Since its introduction in 1960, the B-15 has been used on countless classic recordings, and it remains the standard for studio bass amps. Aside from the replacement handle, and two reisistors this example is quite clean and all original. It has been cleaned and tested. It is fully functional and sounds fantastic. Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Musicmaster Bass 1×12 tube amplifier in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, featuring the original matching RCA tube set. While designed as a companion for the Fender bass of the same name, this Class A/B 6AQ5-powered tube amp has found favor with guitarists for its low wattage and sweet, dynamic tone. The open back cab and single 12 ceramic speaker produce a range of sounds from clean Fender sparkle to rich overdrive with the twist of a knob. Particularly valued for their usefulness in the studio, the Musicmaster Bass is one of the most popular and enduring circuits from the Silverface era. The circuit has just been gone through by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, and everything is working as it should, with the original RCA-branded 6AQ5 power tubes. Both the output and power transformers have 1970 date codes. The 12 CTS speaker has a very clean frame, original cone, and original round Fender label, with a date stamp on the edge of the frame from the 16th week of 1970. Cosmetically, the amp is quite clean and completely original, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe. On the polished aluminum faceplate, all of the blue lettering is present, and the original raised “Fender” logo is intact on the grill. All of the original hardware is present, including the rare Starcaster-style knobs only seen on the first iteration of this amp. Sure, there are a few small scuffs on the tolex and faint wear on the grill, but overall this is a very clean amp that would look great on stage or in the studio. Up for sale, a 1970′s Traynor YBA-1 Bass Master Mark II tube amplifier head in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Fully serviced and very original, this head drives a matched pair of EL34 power tubes, generating an ample 45 watts. Made in Canada and fully hand-wired with giant Hammond transformers, this amp has significant clean headroom and passes a ton of low end. Known as the poor mans Marshall, the circuit can be easily modified to that of a classic 4-input design, yet in its stock configuration the YBA-1 can already harness that rich Tweed-meets-U. Blend which is this Traynor’s sonic signature. With Volume controls for each channel as well as a global EQ, this amp can be used to power a variety of different instruments (such as a bevy of vintage keyboards) or simply a single guitar or bass, providing a bold, clean power amp that works well with effects pedals. This Traynor has abundant low end response, and the large transformers keep the sound tight and full. This YBA-1 has a very original circuit, with all of the original Hammond transformers and a preamp that retains all of the original pots as well as the mustard tone caps which are essential to the tonal color of this head. The power supply includes new F&T capacitors to ensure optimal performance. The amp is currently loaded with a trio of vintage 12AX7 (7025) preamp tubes as well as a matched pair of Sylvania EL34 power tubes. The faceplate retains all of its original knobs, with most of the white screenprinting having been worn away. Smooth black tolex and a silver grill cloth cover the enclosure, with a good deal of scuffing and wear throughout, and there is evidence of black paint on the enclosure, specifically over the chrome bumpers. This Traynor lives up to the company’s reputation of delivering sturdy workhorse amps that perform reliably on stage and in studio situations. This vintage hand-wired Traynor YBA-1 Bass Master Mark II is a true sleeper that has been well played, but remains in top-notch performance condition. 50w EL34 amp, designed for clean tone for guitar or bass, can get some drive out of it with a hot signal. Seems popular with pedal uses, really warm vintage valve amp tone and the big power supply choke gives them plenty of weight to bass tones. This one has been fully serviced including a recap and a modification to the bias circuit for adjustability. This is the model with a reverb, but the reverb tank is missing, it was an odd small size, so its effectively the plain SV, the knob on the front does nothing now. Up for sale, a 1970 Ampeg B-15N Portaflex tube amp in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original trolley and cover. The B-15N is one of the most recorded and highly regarded tube bass amp circuits of all time, and this classic four-input vintage model delivers the goods through the original 15 Eminence ceramic magnet speaker. Manufactured in the USA by Ampeg at their Linden, NJ factory and just given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, the amp is powered by a matched pair of properly biased Tung Sol 6L6GC power tubes. Notable for the addition of Ultra-Hi and Ultra-Lo rocker switches for each channel not found on earlier iterations, this B-15N has surprising output given its modest power and excels at a dynamic and detailed tone that can be extremely warm, or distinct and bright. Paired with a Precision Bass, it’s the perfect recipe for Motown thump. The original transformers are both present, and the preamp is virtually untouched, with original CTS pots and visible date codes from the 21st week of 1970. Along with the Tung Sol 6L6 power tubs, the amp features a combination of modern and vintage octal preamp tubes as well as a vintage Mullard GZ34 rectifier. The stock Eminence speaker has a clean frame and date code from the 13th week of 1970. The cabinet retains the original smooth black tolex, silver sparkle grillcloth, and Ampeg badge. The faceplate retains virtually all of the original blue pinstriping, along with a full compliment of original knobs. Wear on the cabinet is limited to minor scuffs and light edge wear, and all original hardware is included and viable including the shockmounts for the head and original latches. As the photos show, this B-15N would look great in a studio. The original screw-on trolley is included, along with the original cover (not pictured).
