The circuit is very original, with stock Schumacher transformers that date between late 66 and mid 1967, and pots that date to the 42nd week of 66. The circuit features a brand new multi-section filter can cap along with a couple new Sprague capacitors in the preamp to ensure optimal functionality. The tube chart is very clean and fully intact, with an “QB” code which translates to February of 1967. The speaker is the original Fender-branded Oxford 8 with a clean blue Fender foil label on the alnico magnet. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth is quite clean. All of the stock hardware is intact, with light patina on the original handle caps and sphinx glides. The tolex is free of notable wear, and the grillcloth has only light aging, with the original raised Fender badge intact. Dick Dale the legendary Godfather of “Surf Music” was enlisted by Fender as a Test Pilot to help develop the Showman Amp. Dick Dale has frequently spoken of his role in the development of the Showman, and boasts of having blown up nearly 50 amplifiers before Fender achieved a design that could take his heat. Whether or not the seminal surf guitarist exaggerates, his claims encompass the ambition of the Showman. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb has a very original circuit that has been freshly serviced by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. Stocked with fresh 6V6 power tubes and an assortment of new and vintage preamp tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a clear and dynamic sound, delivering sparkling cleans that are a great effects pedal platform. The amp starts to saturate with smooth tube overdrive after about 5 on the volume dial, cascading into rich, lightly compressed crunch as you push the volume to 10. The Reverb is very lush with a long decay, and the tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three-dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is very original, with the original Schumacher output transformer, reverb transformer, and choke, while the power transformer is a genuine vintage Deluxe Reverb replacement from 1968, also manufactured by Schumacher. The preamp is loaded with the full compliment of the original blue Ajax molded capacitors, a key ingredient in the dynamic, musical tone of Fender’s Blackface amps, and all of the original CTS pots are intact as well, with date codes from mid-66. The power amp has been professionally recapped with Sprague Atoms, and the preamp features a new bias cap and smaller bypass caps to ensure the amp is operating within original factory spec. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The speaker is an era-correct vintage Fender 12 driver, manufactured by Utah and featuring a clean black frame, Fender blue foil sticker on the magnet, and date code from the 3rd week of’66. The speaker also features a fresh recone, delivering a smooth, balanced sound. Cosmetically, the amp is very original, with stock smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The tolex shows some light wear around the edges of the enclosure, with a couple small tears which have been glued flush and two nickel-sized holes (one on each side of the cabinet) which have been cleanly doweled with tolex on top so that they practically disappear. While the grillcloth is genuine lightly aged vintage Fender cloth, it has been re-stapled taut to the original baffle. All of the original hardware is present including the chassis straps, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), corners, and raised Fender logo on the baffle. The original faceplate also shows sparingly little wear with bold graphics and stock witch hat knobs. 1964 Fender Princeton Vintage Pre-CBS Blackface Tube Amp Non-Reverb Near Mint

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Princeton in exceptional, collector-grade condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original catalog, schematic, and envelope. Remarkably preserved, this vintage Blackface Fender was produced in mid-64, placing this Princeton firmly in the “Pre-CBS” era. The amp has both the early no-logo cabinet design and “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate. Unlike its brother the Princeton Reverb, this non-reverb Princeton has much more clean headroom, as the lack of the reverb effect introduces less gain into the circuit, allowing the amp to be clearer and punchier, with a sound that has sparkle and chime indicative of the Blackface line and perfect for recording situations. The controls are simple and intuitive, and the bias-based tremolo circuit has a nice even pulse with a wide range of available speeds. The circuit is 100% original aside from a few new low-noise metal film resistors to ensure optimal performance and an ideal noise floor. The stock transformers were made by Fender’s primary supplier, Schumacher, dating between the 39th and 45th weeks of’64. The famed blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp, instrumental in creating the sweet, musical character of Fender’s Blackface amps. The chassis stamp dates to’64, and the visible date codes on the stock Stackpole pots are from the 34th week of that year as well. The tubes consist of a matched pair of vintage RCA-branded 6V6 power tubes, with an Amperex GZ34 rectifier, RCA-branded 12AX7 and a singular new JJ preamp tube. The tube chart is fully intact with crisp corners and a “NL” date stamp that translates to December of’64. Typically the tube chart date is the latest on any Fender, which is true in this instance as well. The speaker is the original Jensen C10Q which is practically perfect with a deep black frame, near mint gold foil sticker on the magnet, and date stamp from the 23rd week of’64. The stock wiring harness is intact too with the bare metal 1/4 pancake jack seen only on Pre-CBS examples. The hardware on the amp is completely original and the faceplate is nigh flawless, with stock witch hat knobs. The stock black tolex and silver sparkle grill are among the cleanest we’ve ever encountered, and both are clean as can be. This is a pristine, no-excuses early Blackface Princeton which delivers a sound worthy of the Blackface name! The original factory paperwork is included including the original envelope, catalog, and schematic. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1966 Fender Dual Showman Vintage Blackface Fender Tube Amplifier 2x15, JBL D140F

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Dual Showman in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Produced very early in’66 where the Dual Showman still simply said “Showman” on the faceplate, this Dual Showman boasts a pair of flawless and original JBL D140F 15 speakers with original cones as well as two matched pairs of RCA and General Electric-branded 6L6GC power tubes. This amp was the absolute top of the line Fender amp in its day, and still an ideal choice for guitar, bass, or amplifying your favorite vintage electric piano or combo organ. For pristine, sparkling Fender Blackface clean tone, you can’t get any bigger or badder than the Dual Showman, and the amp delivers 85 pure tube watts. The cleans are clear, focused and warm, with a percussive clarity and cut that pairs perfectly with Fender’s single coil pickups and interacts equally well with a warm pair of humbuckers or P-90s. The low end can be dialed in to perfection, with some sweet low-midrange on tap, and a deep, pulsating tremolo as well. The circuit is clean and very original, with a virtually untouched preamp that retains all of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps that are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. Even the original compliment of filter caps is still intact and viable. All of the original Schumacher transformers (Fender’s primary transformer supplier in the Blackface era) are intact dating between late’65 and the first weeks of 1966. The CTS pots date to late’65 as well. The Blackface faceplate is in great shape, with all of the original witch hat knobs present. The tube chart is clean and intact inside the head, noting the amp’s AB763 circuit and “PD” date code which translates to April of 1966. Both JBL 15 D140 speakers are original to the amp, and everything inside the cab is 100% straight. Both JBLs have their original “29675″ cone codes, and both ribbed cones are in great shape with original aluminum dust caps. The gray speaker frames and JBL labels are virtually flawless, and all of the original fiberglass baffling is intact inside the cab too. With their heavy duty alnico magnets and 4 voice coils, these speakers perfectly replicate Fender clean tones with little to no speaker distortion. Both the head and large 2×15 speaker cabinet retain their original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, and all of the original hardware is intact too, including the raised Fender logos on both head and cab, chrome tilt-back legs, piggyback clip bars and thumbscrews, nickel corners, chassis straps, and handle caps. Cosmetically, the head and cab show only light wear with and some nicks, scuffs, and dings in the tolex and light surface patina on the hardware, but no serious wear. Given a full checkup by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and one of the straightest examples we’ve come across in years, this Dual Showman boasts original JBL D140 speakers, vintage power tubes, and an extremely original circuit with stock transformers. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1964 Fender Vibroverb Vintage Blackface Pre-CBS Tube Amp 1x15 with JBL 130A, Ftsw

Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Vibroverb in excellent condition, recently serviced and loaded with a vintage JBL 130A speaker. A very original and clean example of Fender’s rarest and most desirable Blackface amp, the Vibroverb was only made in the Pre-CBS Fender era, lasting from late 1963 through’64. Best known for its association with Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Vibroverb delivers 40 all-tube watts with a dual channel design and tube rectifier. The amp is loaded with a pair of vintage JAN/Phillips 6L6 power tubes, and the JBL speaker has been professionally reconed. The tone is clear and powerful, with dynamic Fender cleans that sparkle and twang. The highly efficient JBL speaker keeps the signal and tight, with very little speaker cone distortion even at high volumes, letting the light compression and velvety tube overdrive of the circuit be heard with stunning clarity when you push the amp near 10 on the volume dial. The Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension with a long decay, and the Vibrato (technically tremolo) has a strong, smooth pulse. The circuit is extremely clean and stock, with all of the original Schumacher-made transformers dating between the 7th and 27th weeks of 1964. All of the original CTS pots are intact as well, dating to early’64. The preamp retains its full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient of the sweet, musical sound of Fender’s Blackface circuits. The power supply features a professional recap of the main filters, and the smaller bypass caps in the preamp have been replaced too. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. In addition to the pair of properly biased USA-made JAN/Phillips 6L6GC power tubes, the amp is loaded with a Sylvania GZ34 rectifier and a host of new and vintage tubes in the preamp as well, all of which function as intended. The tube chart is intact and very clean, with crisp corners and an “NJ” date stamp for October of 1964. The vintage JBL 130A speaker has a professional recone and proper aluminum dust cap, and this speaker is a particularly early JBL, predating the D130F. The speaker has a full, robust sound with no voice coil rub and incredible articulation. Cosmetically, this amp retains its original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, with some light edge wear and a few small spots of missing tolex on the bottom edges of the cabinet. The original hardware is all intact, with some scuffing on the original nickel corners, and modest patina on the original Pat. Pending tilt-back legs, sphinx glides, and handle caps. The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Vibroverb in exceptional condition and in good working order. An extremely original and clean example of Fender’s rarest and most desirable Blackface amp, the Vibroverb was only made in the Pre-CBS Fender era, lasting from late 1963 through’64. Most well known for its association with Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Vibroverb delivers 40 tube watts via a pair of 6L6 power tubes and a JBL D130F speaker. The tone is clear and powerful, with dynamic Fender cleans that sparkle and twang. The highly efficient JBL speaker keeps things clean and tight, with very little speaker cone distortion even at high volumes, letting the light compression and velvety tube overdrive of the circuit be heard with stunning clarity when you push the amp near 10 on the volume dial. The Reverb has plenty of splash and dimension with a long decay, and the Vibrato (technically tremolo) has a strong, smooth pulse. The circuit is extremely clean and stock, with all of the original Schumacher-made transformers dating between late’63 and early 1964. The CTS pots date to late’63 too, with two new pots in the Vibrato channel. The preamp retains its full compliment of original blue molded Ajax caps, a key ingredient of the sweet, musical sound of Fender’s Blackface circuits. The power supply features a professional recap of the main filters with F&T and Ruby caps, and the smaller bypass caps in the preamp are new Spragues. A three-prong power cable has also been installed. The tubes consist of a new pair of Tung Sol 5881 power tubes, with a USA-made GZ34 rectifier and a host of new tubes in the preamp as well, all of which function as intended. The tube chart is intact and very clean, with crisp corners and an “NB” date stamp for February of 1964. The original JBL D130F speaker has a recone with a WHF cone and proper aluminum dust cap, and the speaker has a full, robust sound with no voice coil rub and incredible articulation. Cosmetically, this amp is an absolute stunner which has likely lived its life in the studio, due to the absence of any notable cosmetic wear. The stock smooth black tolex is exceedingly clean, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth has only aged sparingly, with lots of sparkle left in the thread. The original hardware is all intact and clean, with only the faintest patina on a couple of the corners and on the original Pat. This is a collector-grade and well maintained vintage Fender Vibroverb, ideal for the stage, studio and discerning player! The original two-button Reverb/Vibrato footswitch is included.
