1966 Fender Bassman Vintage Tube Amplifier Blackface Head & Cab Combo. This is a never gigged with, only used in studio , Fender Bassman. The amplifier is super clean for its age and functions perfectly. Its cosmetic wear is very minor; two rivets missing from the metal corners, a few screws missing from the cabinets back panel, and small peels in a few parts on the tolex. All wear can be seen in the pictures so please inspect closely. Original speakers were swapped out for Weber 12F150, I do not have the original speakers. The amplifier sounds great and looks really cool for studio or stage! Like other Fender amps, the Bassman evolved through the’50s and’60s, starting as a combo and then being a head/cabinet combination product in 1961. Starting in 1964, the Bassman was built with Fender’s blackface amp design. The item pictured is the one you will be receiving. No additional accessories included. Up for sale, a 1967 Fender Vibrolux Reverb Export Model, very original and given a clean bill of health from our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar. A very rare Export Model designed with a rotary voltage selector on the back panel, this amp works with worldwide voltages from 117 to 240v. With good reason, the Vibrolux is one of the most desirable Fender Blackface models for its ideal size and power, performing well both on stage and in the studio with shimmering Fender cleans and smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive when you push the amp towards 10 on the volume dial. Clean and sweet up til about 5 on the volume knob (with a perceived volume that’s loud enough to keep up with an aggressive drummer), the Vibrolux has smooth attack and tube rectifier sag, not to mention lush tube reverb and punchy tremolo. This Vibrolux has been thoroughly serviced to balance originality and functionality, boasting a recap of the power supply with Sprague Atoms and a modern three-prong power cable. The original Schumacher-made power and output transformers are intact and date to’66, and the original choke and reverb transformer are present too. The preamp is extremely original and straight, with all of the blue molded Ajax tone caps which are a hallmark of the Blackface sound. The CTS pots also date to 1966. The pair of Tung Sol 5881 (6L6) power tubes sound wonderful and are optimally biased, and the preamp tubes are a compliment of vintage and modern valves which function as intended. The original Oxford 10 10L5 speakers sound fantastic, and both speakers feature original cones which are still tight, yet nicely worked in. The tube chart is fully intact, noting the AA864 circuit with a “QB” date code which translates to February of’67 (customarily the latest date code on a Fender amp). The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact, along with all of the stock hardware and the original raised Fender logo on the amp’s face. The edges of the enclosure show a bit of honest wear from the past half century, but as the photos show, this Vibrolux presents very well. A rare iteration of one of Fender’s best mid-size Blackface combos, this Export Model Vibrolux Reverb is tonally stunning, very original, and fully serviced to sound its best. Great Amp for Blues, Rock and Surf. Has just a Killer Awesome Tone. This is the “Real Deal”. This was Fenders first piggyback amp, and therefore its first real leap from bandstand to arena stage. Dick Dale was a key player and test pilot for Fender in developing the Showman Amp. Not only did it have to have awesome tone and sound, it had to be reliable. Dick Dale had a reputation for blowing up amps with his over the top surf music. The Showman is all of this and more. It is built like a Tank. The Amp appears to be mostly original. A 3-prong grounded cord has been added. Our amp tech went through and serviced this amp. Everything functions and is working correctly. Gig Ready on Arrival! Brand New Aftermarket Footswitch is Included! Keep in mind that this is a 53 year old amp that has been used. There are scuffs, scratches and tears in the Tolex covering. The Tolex on the back panel of the amp is coming loose around the 2 oblong shape air vent holes. A little super glue or a staple should repair it easily. The grill cloth has been replaced on the head, but the grill cloth on the cabinet is all original. It is stained and faded with some minor tears and fray in the cloth. Some scratches and light pitting on the instrument control panel. Lettering is still legible. This is the “Real Deal” Dripping with “Mojo”. Overall, a really nice amp. Look at the pictures closely. Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Princeton Reverb in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order with the original Victoria Luggage cover, factory booklet, and complete vintage tube set. Extremely clean cosmetically, this collector-grade vintage Blackface Fender amp is a real stunner. The Princeton Reverb is the perfect amplifier for small club gigs and studio sessions, and the Fender AA764 Blackface circuit delivers both well balanced, sparkling cleans and smooth, harmonic rich overdrive when you dime it out. The Reverb is extremely lush and the Tremolo has a nice pulse with a wide range of speeds. The chassis itself is very clean, with all original transformers dating to early’66. All of the famed blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp (an essential part of the Blackface sound), and the original filter and bypass caps are still viable. The power cable is the original two-prong variety too. All of the original CTS and Stackpole pots are intact, dating back to’66. The tubes are all ostensibly original and a drool-worthy compliment, with a matched pair of gray plate RCA 6V6s, an Amperex 5AR4 rectifier and preamp tubes from the likes of Mullard and RCA. The speaker is the original Jensen C10Q, with a clean frame, original cone and gold/brown Fender label on the ceramic magnet. The speaker retains the original harness as well, complete with the original speaker jack with Fender “F” cap. The tube chart is very clean, with a “PF” date stamp from June of 1966. As the photos show, the original black tolex is extremely clean, and the original silver sparkle grillcloth shows sparingly little aging, retaining the raised Fender logo. All of the original hardware is intact and gleaming. This vintage Blackface Princeton Reverb works exactly as it should, sounds great, and is ready for another 50 years of use! The original Victoria Luggage black vinyl cover is intact and a snug fit, and while the cover does have a couple repaired tears on the back, it has no loose edges or rips at present. The silkscreened lettering is still present on the face of the cover too. The original Fender factory booklet that accompanied the amp when new is also intact. Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Deluxe Reverb, very original and freshly serviced, complete with the original two-button footswitch. Widely considered to be one of the greatest tube amps of all time, this Deluxe Reverb was produced in the first full year of production for this model, with a “Fender Electric Instruments” faceplate, rare no logo grill, and date codes firmly placing this amp in the Pre-CBS era. Stocked with a matched pair of fresh Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes, this Deluxe delivers the shimmering, balanced clean tone that has made these amps a mainstay in studios and on stages for decades. The amp has a sweet, balanced sound that delivers the top end sparkle and clarity characteristic of the best amps from Fender’s Blackface era. This amp is very dynamic, working as a perfect platform for effects pedals and while the treble response can twang with the best, there’s a smoothness to the top end that keeps the amp from ever sounding harsh. Turning it up past 4 on the volume dial, the amp begins to push into overdrive territory with light compression and plenty of sizzle. The Reverb is very lush with long decay and the Tremolo has a strong pulse with an almost three dimensional quality to the effect when you increase the intensity. The circuit is very original and only serviced as strictly necessary to ensure optimal playability. A bevy of original blue molded Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp (an essential part of the Blackface sound), and all of the original CTS pots are intact as well, dating to mid’64. The original Schumacher transformers date between the 31st and 33rd weeks of’64. The power supply has been professionally recapped, and the smaller bias and bypass caps in the preamp have been replaced as well, sleeved in their original hollowed out Astron wrappers. A three-prong cable has been installed too. The tube chart is present, with an “NI” date code which translates to September of 1964. The speaker is the original Oxford 12K5-6 with a clean black frame and date code from the 39th week of’64. One of Fender’s (and Oxford’s) rarest speakers, the 12K5-6 was only used in the Deluxe Reverb and this speaker has been recently reconed. Cosmetically, the amp is complete with the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. The grillcloth has aged moderately since’64 and the Blackface faceplate shows very little wear with all of the black witch hat knobs intact. The tolex shows some wear at the corners corners along with some requisite stray nicks and scuffs, and overall this amp presents well. All of the original hardware including the corners, handle caps, sphinx glides (feet) and logo is present. The original two-button footswitch is included. This little Blackface-era Fender wonder delivers five watts of pure Class A tube tone. A surprisingly loud amp with the original alnico 8 speaker, this Vibro Champ has just the right amount of glassy, sparkling clean tone before pushing into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive at about 4 on the volume knob. Dynamic, responsive, and absolutely huge sounding when you put a microphone in front of it, it’s hard to beat the Vibro Champ for pure simplicity and great tone. And of course, Fender’s lush sounding tremolo circuit has a strong pulse and wide range of speeds, perfect for subtle shifts in volume or machine gun chop. The circuit is nearly untouched, with stock Schumacher transformers that date between late 1966 and early’67. The preamp has only a few new capacitors to ensure the amp is operating optimally. The tube chart is extremely clean and fully intact, with an “QF” code which translates to June of 1967. The tubes are all original vintage valves from the likes of RCA and Telefunken. The speaker is the original Fender-branded Oxford 8 with a clean blue Fender label on the alnico magnet and a frame that shows virtually no wear. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are remarkably clean. The faceplate is near mint, with its full compliment of witch hat knobs. The stock handle caps, sphinx glides (feet), and chassis straps are all intact, and the hardware shows only light surface patina. The tolex shows barely any wear, and the grillcloth still has plenty of sparkle to the thread. For sale, one vintage 1965 Pre-CBS Blackface Fender Bassman Amp original AB165 circuit 50 watt all tube amplifier head in incredibly excellent condition for a fifty-four year old amp! Works perfectly, sounds amazing! Recently serviced with three prong AC plug, new tubes and fully re-capped. Completely tuned up and ready to rock!
