Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Deluxe tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order with a complete vintage tube set. Manufactured near the beginning of the Brownface era, this amp has a well maintained 6G3 circuit, providing a perfect middle ground between the warmth and dynamic range of the Tweed amps that preceded it, and the clarity and chime of the Blackface amps that would be introduced a couple years later. There’s an incredible range to the tone controls on this amp, and everything from rich and mellow sounds to twangy and crystalline bite is available at the turn of a knob. The bias based tremolo circuit is deep and throbbing, with a very smooth waveform and a tone that has an almost three-dimensional quality. It’s truly one of the best examples of this classic Fender effect! The preamp has been professionally recapped, and the power supply features new Sprague Atom filter caps as well to ensure that the amp is operating reliably within original factory spec. The original Schumacher output transformer is intact and dates to the 46th week of’61, while the power transformer is a vintage replacement. The CTS pots date all the way back to late 1959, and the circuit retains the original carbon comp resistors and cloth covered wire. The amp features a complete vintage tube set, with a matched pair of RCA 6V6s, a USA-made Tung Sol 5Y3 rectifier, and Tung Sol and Amperex valves in the preamp. The power cable is a modern three-prong variety as well. The stock Oxford 12K5 speaker is intact with a clean frame and date code from the 43rd week of 1961. Inside the cab, the original tube chart is partially present too. Cosmetically, this amp is clean as can be with original rough brown tolex and the original leather handle. The original baffle board has been professionally regrilled with modern wheat grillcloth. The original chassis straps, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact. If you’re looking for a Deluxe that can be reliably gigged while also being original in the ways that count, this is an ideal example with a complete vintage tube set! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to ensure that your amp arrives safely. Vintage Fender Concert Amp 1961 Brownface 4x10 6G12-A Brown Bassman Tube Amp

The Concert is the successor to the tweed Bassman 4×10, with a great sound and the famous harmonic vibrato that is unique to the brown face amps. Overall, this is a fantastic sounding vintage amp that is plenty loud enough to gig with, and a great value compared to other vintage Fender amps. This one has been serviced and had a few parts replaced (including the OT and speakers), so its a reliable player grade amp. There’s a couple small holes in the top from another handle, and holes on the bottom from casters, and general wear and tear from a 58-year-old amp, but it looks pretty good overall and sounds wonderful. Im no amp expert when things get technical, so please review the photos carefully, below is a recap of whats been changed or updated, from the previous owner. Fender Brown Concert 1961. In good working condition with great sound and famous “harmonic” vibrato. Original: All yellow mustard caps and power filter caps, power transformer #67233, choke #606049, brown tolex cabinet, front grill, 2-outlet power connector. Upgraded: Magnetic Components Classic Tone output transformer 40-18007. 4×10 new Jensen C10Q speakers, new handle, new logo, Mojotone top back panel, maybe some new resistors and small caps on circuit board… All serviced by previous owner. 1961 Fender Super Vintage Tube Amp Pre-CBS Brownface 2x10 Jensen P10Q, 6G4-A

Up for sale, a 1961 Fender Super in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This Brownface Pre-CBS tube amp was produced late in’61 with a freshly serviced circuit and a pair of stock teal frame Jensen P10Q speakers with original cones. A direct descendant of the Tweed era Super amp, this early Brownface example sports the same transformers and speakers as its close predecessor, delivering hi-fi clarity and sparkling, robust clean tones. Turning the amp up past 5 on the volume dial yields thick, chewy overdrive with great touch-sensitive responsiveness and EQ controls that have an incredibly wide sweep. And of course this is the most compact Brownface-era amp to feature the “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit. A true pitch shifting vibrato (not the tremolo found on most Fender amps), the Harmonic Vibrato sound has a thick, Leslie-esque throb and warble, with a three-dimensional quality and depth that is perfectly suited to the speaker compliment and cabinet size. Whether you want a slow, undulating swampy sound or faster, pulsating vibrato, this Super delivers the goods. The circuit has just been thoroughly tested by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and almost all of the original blue Ajax capacitors in the preamp are intact. Aside from replacing the two bias caps as well as the smaller bypass caps with modern equivalents, the preamp is untouched. The original CTS pots are all intact too. The power amp has been recapped with new F&T caps to guarantee reliable, trouble-free use for years to come. While the output transformer is original and dates to’61, the power transformer is a genuine vintage Fender replacement from 1967. The speakers are the original pair of Jensen P10Qs. Both speakers have clean frames with only light speckles of rust, original bell covers, and clean Jensen labels. The original rough brown tolex is intact and the original baffle board has been professionally regrilled with oxblood grillcloth. As the photos show, the tolex and grill are particularly clean, and both back panels are modern factory-spec replacements. All hardware is stock and accounted for including the brown plastic “dogbone” handle, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and flat “Fender” logo on the amp’s face. This Super is freshly tested and serviced, and ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. 1962 Fender Super Vintage Pre-CBS Brownface Tube Amp 2x10 Oxford 10K5, 6G4-A

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Super in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This Brownface Pre-CBS tube amp was produced early in’62 with original transformers, a very original and freshly serviced circuit, a full compliment of new tubes, and a pair of Oxford 10K5 speakers with original cones and molded brown Fender-branded bell covers. A direct descendant of the Tweed era Super amp, this early Brownface example delivers hi-fi clarity and sparkling, robust clean tones. Whether you want a slow, undulating swampy sound or faster, pulsating vibrato, this Super delivers the goods. The circuit has just been thoroughly tested by our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar and virtually all of the original blue Ajax and yellow Astron capacitors in the preamp are intact. The original CTS pots are all present too, dating to mid-1961. All of the original transformers are present, made by Fender’s primary supplier Schumacher, with date codes from the 42nd to 46th weeks of 1961. The tube chart rounds out the applicable date codes, with an “LC” stamp that translates to March of 1962. The power amp has been recapped with new F&Ts to guarantee reliable, trouble-free use for years to come. The tubes consist of a matched pair of Sovtek 5881s (6L6GCs) along with a host of new preamp tubes from Groove Tubes and JJ. The speakers are a pair of vintage, era-correct Oxford 10K5s with clean frames, original cones, stock brown plastic molded bell covers, and date codes from’63. The rough brown tolex is intact on both the cabinet and both original back panels. The tolex shows some wear on the bottom front edge of the enclosure, along with some requisite light scuffs, but is overall in great shape. The grillcloth is a genuine piece of early’60s wheat cloth professionally installed on the original baffle. All hardware is stock and accounted for including the brown plastic “dogbone” handle, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and flat “Fender” logo on the amp’s face. This Super is extremely original, freshly tested and serviced, and ready for stage and studio use. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1962 Fender Twin Vintage Tube Amp Brownface Blonde Pre-CBS 2x12 Jensen

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Twin in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Fender’s premier tube combo amp in the Pre-CBS Brownface era, the Twin featured an identical chassis to their largest piggyback Fender amp, the Showman. A 2×12 affair with green frame Jensen speakers and 80 watts of power via a quad of matched General Electric 6L6 power tubes, this Twin is a powerhouse. The cleans are big, bold, and warm, with a huge range from the EQ controls and Fender’s famed Harmonic Vibrato circuit. Unlike traditional tremolo (volume modulation), this circuit has true pitch shifting vibrato with Leslie-esque warbles and thick, pulsating swirls. The perfect middle ground between the dynamic, saturated tones of the earlier Tweed era amps and the clarity and shimmering cleans of the later Blackface line, this Showman has a very warm and nuanced sound, with absolutely giant transformers that keep the low end thick and focused. The cabinet is brand new and built to vintage spec by Mojotone with rough blonde tolex, solid pine baffle, and oxblood grillcloth. The cab is fitted with genuine Fender hardware including nickel corners, dogbone handle, chassis straps, and chrome tilt-back legs. The Jensen speakers are both genuine vintage USA-made speakers with one alnico P12PS and one cermaic C12PS. Both speakers have clean green frames, original bell covers, and Jensen foil labels. The circuit has been fully serviced and recapped, with new bypass capacitors and new filter caps as well. The majority of the original famed Ajax blue molded tone caps are intact, providing the sweetness, clarity, and balance found with vintage Fender preamps. All of the stock pots and carbon comp resistors are present as well, along with original cloth wiring. The amp boasts a quad of vintage USA-made General Electric 6L6 power tubes as well as a host of vintage and newer valves in the preamp. The original transformers are all intact, with the absolutely massive output transformer often known as the “Dick Dale” transformer, spec’d to be cleaner and more powerful than any Fender transformer that preceded it. The original faceplate is in great shape with all of the stock cream barrel knobs. This Twin is thoroughly serviced with all original transformers, a vintage quad of power tubes, vintage Jensen speakers, and a new Mojotone cab made to vintage spec. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. 1962 Fender Bassman 6G6B Blonde Brownface Vintage Piggyback Tube Amp Jensen C12N

Up for sale, a 1962 Fender Bassman in excellent condition and in perfect working order. An early iteration of the “Piggyback” version of this amplifier with rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth, this Brownface Bassman drives two vintage General Electric 6L6GC power tubes for 40 powerful watts of pure tube goodness. Like the Tweed amps that preceded it, the Brownface circuits respond well to picking dynamics with Fender’s hi-fi, glassy clean tones. The EQ controls have a huge range and after around 5 on the volume dial the amp cascades into very rich tube overdrive that compresses noticeably and sounds great. It’s the kind of natural tube saturation that only comes from pushing a well designed Fender circuit to its limit. A Pre-CBS Fender Blonde Bassman was used on more Beatles recording sessions than the Vox AC30, was a particular favorite of Pete Townshend, and has become the amp forever linked with Brian Setzer’s classic Rockabilly tones. It’s hard to beat the Bassman for a tone that bridges the gap between the warmth and nuance of the Brownface circuits and the shimmery cleans of the Blackface line! The circuit is very original and has been well maintained and recently serviced with fresh filter caps and a modern three-prong power cable. All of the famed blue Ajax tone caps are intact in the preamp, with stock Stackpole pots, carbon comp resistors, and cloth wire. All of the Schumacher transformers are original with mid 1962 date codes. The output transformer dates to the 17th week of’62, while the power transformer dates to the 20th week of that year. The tube chart is mostly intact too. The tube compliment includes a pair of vintage General Electric 6L6GC power tubes that have been properly biased, and the preamp tubes are mostly vintage valves as well from the likes of RCA and General Electric. The speaker cabinet is a rare transitional small box design that has the same dimensions as the 1×12 Tone Ring cab that preceded it, along with the internal “fins” on the back panel and a partial central divider on the original baffle. Fitted with a pair of vintage Jensen C12N speakers, these drivers are an optimal pairing for the 6G6B Bassman circuit, and while these speakers aren’t original, they do date to early 1964 and are the same make and model used in many’60s Bassmans. Cosmetically, this is an excellent and well kept example of one of Fender’s most desirable Pre-CBS circuits. Both the head and cabinet retain their original rough blonde tolex and oxblood grillcloth. In terms of hardware, the plastic “dogbone” handle on the head is original, while the handle on the cab is a modern replacement. The original faceplate is intact and quite clean, complete with original white barrel knobs. All other hardware is 100% stock, with original tilt-back chrome legs and stops, sphinx glides (feet), flat metal Fender logos, nickel corners and piggyback clip bars. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! All hardware is stock and accounted for including the brown plastic “dogbone” handle, corners, sphinx glides (feet), and flat “Fender” logo on the amp’s face. This Super is extremely original, freshly tested and serviced, and ready for stage and studio use. 1963 Fender Showman Brownface Blonde Vintage Tube Amp & Tone Ring Cab JBL D130F

Up for sale, a 1963 Fender Showman Brownface tube amplifier head and 1×15 Tone Ring speaker cab in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Along with the Twin, the Showman was the flagship of the early 1960s Fender tube amp lineup, featuring a whopping 80 watts of power, and boasting Fender’s unique “Harmonic Vibrato” circuit. While the Showman may best be known as Dick Dale’s amp of choice for his classic surf sound, this circuit can offer much more, with incredibly rich low end and EQ controls that have an extremely wide sweep for everything from punchy cleans to raucous overdrive. The perfect middle ground between the dynamic, saturated tones of the earlier Tweed era amps and the clarity and shimmering cleans of the later Blackface line, this Showman has a very warm and nuanced sound, with absolutely giant transformers that keep the low end thick and focused. Perfect for guitar, bass, or keyboards, this is a versatile head that pairs well with just about anything from the era! Restored to original spec, the head features new rough blonde tolex and original oxblood grillcloth, while the speaker cabinet is a brand new solid pine reproduction from Mojotone fitted with a genuine vintage JBL D130F speaker. One very unique and desirable feature of the Showman is the ported Tone Ring speaker cabinet. This large 1×15 enclosure was designed to deliver the clearest, most pure Fender tone with a stock JBL D140F speaker, and as such utilizes a dual baffle board design in which the speaker floats between the baffles, mounted to a metal tone ring. This elegant design makes the Showman cab work as a closed back, ported enclosure and you’ll notice greater range of your EQ controls, ample bass response and an overall sweeter, balanced tone that you simply can’t get with any other Fender cabinet. Plus it just looks so darn impressive! The circuit has been fully serviced and recapped, with new Sprague Atom bypass capacitors and new filter caps as well, all sleeved in the original Minimite wrappers. The original famed Ajax blue molded tone caps are intact, providing the sweetness, clarity, and balance found with vintage Fender preamps. All of the stock pots and carbon comp resistors are present as well, along with original cloth wiring. The amp boasts a quad of vintage USA-made Tung Sol 5881 (6L6GC) small bottle power tubes as well as a host of vintage valves in the preamp. The original transformers are all intact, with the absolutely massive output transformer often known as the “Dick Dale” transformer, spec’d to be cleaner and more powerful than any Fender transformer that preceded it. The power transformer dates to the first weeks of’63, while the tube chart has an “LG” date code which translates to July of’62. Along with the new rough blonde tolex on the head, all of the hardware is new as well, with modern Fender dogbone handles, chassis straps, and corners. The Showman faceplate is original and fitted with new cream barrel knobs. When Mojotone made the speaker cabinet, they placed the handle in the wrong location, something which has been rectified, and the tolex has been patched to cover the handle mounting holes on the cab for the cleanest possible look. With original transformers, a fully serviced and very stock circuit, a full compliment of vintage valves, and a vintage JBL D130F speaker too, this restored Showman is a Pre-CBS Fender classic. Up for sale, a 1964 Fender Bassman head with the highly coveted 6G6-B circuit in excellent condition and in good working order. If you’re looking for the incredible power, sweetness, and range of a vintage Blonde era Fender Bassman, you’ll fall in love with this 6G6-B. The tone is robust, authoritative and after about 4 on the Volume dial, the sparkling Fender cleans give way to smooth tube overdrive, with incredible harmonic content and a dynamic, touch sensitive response. A Fender 6G6-B Bassman was used on more Beatles recording sessions than the Vox AC30, was a particular favorite of Pete Townshend, and has become the amp forever linked with Brian Setzer’s classic Rockabilly tones! The circuit is virtually untouched, all of the original transformers are intact, and all of the famed original blue molded Ajax tone caps are present in the preamp as well. All transformers are made by Schumacher (Fender’s primary supplier in this era) with date codes from the 40th week of 1963 to the 19th week of’64. Even the original filter caps and bypass caps are intact and performing their functions well. All of the original CTS pots are intact, along with the original cloth wiring, also dating between late’63 and early’64. A modern three-prong power cable has been installed. The power tubes consist of a pair of vintage 6L6s, and in the preamp, this Bassman boasts three original matching RCA branded 12AX7s and a Telefunken 12AT7 phase inverter. The original smooth blonde tolex and gold sparkle grillcloth are intact and quite clean. There is a bit of light staining on the top and sides of the cab, where sap from knots in the pine cabinet has seeped through the tolex, as well as a few small cigarette burns. The faceplate is quite clean with original white barrel knobs. The original chassis straps, corners, and raised”Fender” logo are also intact, along with the piggyback clip bars. The tube chart is partially intact. This is a rare and well kept example of one of Fender’s most desirable Brownface amplifiers with transitional cosmetics!
