This is a Vintage 1967 Silvertone Model 1484 Twin Twelve 2×12 Guitar Combo head and cabinet. Silvertone was a trade name of the Sears, Co. This amp was made in the USA by Danelectro. Date was determined by the codes on the two matching original Jensen C12Q speakers (220708) and pot codes (1376701). All the tubes are branded Silvertone and original to the amp with one exception. One of the 12AX7 tubes is a Silvertone from my personal stash. The three preamp 12AX7′s are made in Holland, so Bugle Boy Aperex tubes branded Silvertone? All USA, and HOLLAND made tubes, that test strong on my Hickok 6000a tube tester. This amp is nicer than most of the 1484′s I see for sale. TREMOLO and REVERB, BOTH WORK. The speakers have been professionally reconed and probably do not have 10 hours of play time on them. One of the tube sockets has been replaced (reverb driver). This thing sounds incredible. EVERYTHING works and it includes the footswitch. Clean controls, no scratchy pots. The reverb is just as wild and wacky as everyone says about it. AND YOU GET TO HEAR IT FOR YOURSELF. This amp is so original, the speaker cord is still attached to both the head and cab. That is the first and last time it was serviced. This is an attic find that cleaned up very nicely. There is evidence of deterioration, but for the most part well preserved. Please look at the pictures for condition. Normal aging and patina. One of the knobs has a chip. You can take this out to play a gig the day you get it. As a basic test I have operated this amp for at least 4 hours recently and it did not fail, smoke, throw sparks, blow fuses, start on fire, etc. Old electronics are scratched, worn, chipped, cracked, dirty, dusty, stained, ugly, tinkered with, missing parts, etc. The exteriors have wear that includes cuts, holes, tears, scuffs, missing stitching, missing or replaced feet, handles, knobs. In the course of servicing over the years, they typically do not have all original components. Old electronics typically hum and have scratchy controls. Old electronics can fail at any time. This is part of my estate. LOOK AT ALL MY LISTINGS!!! The following is common sense stuff, but needs mentioned. You should not have to live with something you are unhappy with for any reason. If you alter, modify, change or “repair” the item in anyway without my consent, you are accepting the item “as is”, at the price paid. We will work through the claim together until things are right.

Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Tremolux amplifier, freshly serviced and retaining the original lacquered tweed. One of the most tonally distinctive and sweet sounding amps of Fender’s late 1950s “narrow panel” Tweed era, the Tremolux essentially combined the tonal richness and dynamic, touch sensitive circuit of a 5E3 Deluxe with a bias-based footswitchable tremolo. Powered by a pair of brand new Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes, this Tremolux has the same harmonic content, smooth tube breakup and glassy tone of a Deluxe, but the significantly larger open back cabinet on a Tremolux gives the tone more depth, low end and roundness overall! Like any four-input Tweed Fender, the magic really happens when you jumper the two channels and use the independent Volume controls to dial in the perfect amount of clarity and grit. With the addition of Fender’s earliest tremolo circuit (a bias based design that essentially turns on/off the power tubes to create the effect), the Tremolux is a versatile and impressive amp, delivering a trem circuit with a strong pulse and good range of speeds. This true road warrior has been given all the love a real golden era Fender amp deserves, and our techs here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar have carefully gone through the circuit, balancing originality and functionality and using only the best parts available. All of the original yellow Astron tone caps are intact in the preamp, along with the original pots, carbon comp resistors, cloth wire, and mostly untouched solder joints. The main filter caps have been replaced with brand new Sprague Atoms so that the amp is working within original factory spec, and a three-prong power cable has been installed. A miniature bias pot has also been added to the eyelet board so that the tubes can be optimally biased (an option not available via the circuit’s traditional cathode bias method). The transformers are a brand new pair furnished by Mercury Magnetics and made in the USA, closely matching original specs and materials. These are the same transformers used in Fender’s top-tier Custom Shop builds, living up to the high bar set by Fender’s original transformer manufacturers in the era, Triad and Schumacher. The chassis itself is quite clean, and the chrome shows only very light pitting on the face with the majority of the white silkscreen lettering intact (the chrome in fact is so shiny that it was difficult to faithfully capture the lettering in the images, but rest assured it’s there). The original chicken head knobs are all present as well. The speaker is a vintage Jensen C12Q, rated at roughly 35 watts and the perfect match for the output of the Tremolux which is decidedly more modest than what the speaker can handle. The teal frame is quite clean, with a date stamp from’63, intact bell cover and original Jensen label. The tube chart is also present on the inside of the cabinet. The original “Tremolux” metal badge on the face of the amp is present, while the leather handle and sphinx glides (feet) are modern replacements. The original tweed is intact and as the photos show, it has been ambered and scuffed from decades of honest use. The most prominent wear on the pine cab is on the front bottom edge with a few bald spots. While the lower back panel is original, the upper back panel is a modern replacement, aged to closer match the wear on the tweed. The baffle is also a brand new solid pine replacement from MojoTone, fitted with new Oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe as per spec for the Tweed era. This Tremolux has been freshly serviced and is ready for stage and studio use! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1965 Silvertone model 1484 “Twin Twelve” piggyback tube amplifier in excellent condition and in perfect working order. 100% original with new 6L6 power tubes and a full compliment of stock preamp tubes, this Silvertone amp is a clean and well-kept example. Manufactured by Danelectro in the USA and marketed through Sears via their house brand “Silvertone, ” the 1484 was one of the top-tier department store amps of its day, and also an amp that’s found favor with todays players including Jack White and Beck. The 1484 “Twin Twelve” has an extremely smooth and rich breakup, with warm clean tones at low volumes that give way to a touch of tube overdrive at roughly half volume, and reach full tube saturation with a touch of compression anywhere beyond 7 on the dial. Both channels feature a pair of inputs (high and low) and both channels share the built-in Reverb and Tremolo effects. While the Tremolo has a nice strong pulse that gets quite thick and deep, the Reverb is infamous in its own right for its thin, trashy sound that’s perfect for lo-fi and surf tunes, with a unique gain structure and chimey top end character. The tank is working within factory spec, although the effect is heard mostly on the note decay. The circuit is original, with stock transformers and CTS pots that date to early’65. The speakers are a pair of original Jensen C12Q 12 drivers, with clean green frames, minty Jensen labels on the ceramic magnets, and the original wiring harness. The chassis is quite clean with all of the stock barrel knobs and all the black silkscreen text present on the aluminum faceplate. Of course, one of the coolest features of the 1484 is the ability to store the head in the back of the cabinet, held in by a couple of swiveling nylon tabs. The long speaker cable can be secured in the elastic straps on either side of the head cavity in the cab, and the whole package is surprisingly light and portable. In terms of cosmetic condition, this amp has been well cared for, with grillcloth that has plenty of sparkle in the thread, and only some modest scuffs and dings on the gray thatched exterior of the head and cab. Given the more fragile material used to cover the Silvertone amps (when compared to the tolex and nubtex utilize by Gibson, Fender, Vox and others), it makes the condition of this amp even more impressive, as most 1484s began to show wear even after light use. This amp, in contrast, likely lived at home and has been well preserved as the photos show! Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! We use double thick boxes, 1″ foam, and industrial 1/2″ bubble wrap to assure that your amp arrives safely. Up for sale, a 1965 Fender Deluxe, thoroughly played and freshly serviced. A true road warrior, this amp features the famed AB763 circuit and has incredible headroom and power, something that instantly sets it apart from its reverb equipped brother. Since the addition of the reverb effect into the Fender circuit essentially adds another gain stage, the non-reverb Deluxe really stands out as Fender’s premier 1×12 Blackface combo amp, with incredible warmth, EQ balance, and clarity. Perfect as a platform for pedals and an ideal amp for studio use, this Deluxe captures the quintessential Fender clean sound, with smooth tube overdrive and a hint of compression at higher volumes. The tremolo has a strong, even pulse as well, with a wide range of speeds. The circuit has been freshly serviced, with new F&T filter caps sleeved in the original cardboard tubes and a largely original preamp that retains the famed blue Ajax tone caps which are essential to the sweet, musical Blackface sound. All of the original Schumacher transformers date to 1965 along with the original CTS pots. A three-prong power cable has been installed and the amp boasts a fresh pair of 6V6 power tubes, as well as a host of newer preamp tubes. The speaker is an era-correct Jensen C12Q which has recently been professionally reconed. The speaker has a clean black frame and small blue foil Jensen label on the ceramic magnet. The original tube chart is intact and, with an “OI” date code that translates to September of 1965. Cosmetically, this amp has clearly been on the road for years and seen countless stages. Despite heavy use, the original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth are intact! The stock baffle is still viable, and all of the original hardware is intact including the raised Fender logo, handle, and sphinx glides (feet).
