Up for sale, a 1973 Fender Bassman 50 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The direct descendent of the “Bassman” model, the Bassman 50 was introduced in 1972 to differentiate it from Fender’s expanding Bassman lineup (including the Bassman 100 and Bassman 10). This amp has a clear, powerful Fender tone that’s ideal for use with guitar or bass. Delivering enough headroom, muscle, and clarity to be a perfect pedal platform when paired with the included 2×15 enclosure, the amp stays clean until around 5 on the Volume dial when it cascades into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive. The circuit is very original, with a preamp that’s untouched save for a new resistor on the bias pot. The original compliment of Schumacher-made transformers date to 1973, and visible date codes on the CTS pots also date to’73. The power supply has been recapped, and the amp functions as it should, with some surface rust on the bottom of the chassis. The amp boasts a full vintage tube compliment, with 6L6s that bias well together (branded Magnavox and GE), and preamp tubes from the likes of RCA. The tube chart is also intact inside the head cabinet. The speaker cabinet is the correct 2×15 used on both the Bassman 50 and Bassman 70 models, dating to 1975. The cabinet is extremely clean, complimenting the head well and loaded with the original Utah-made speakers with heavy duty square ceramic magnets, blue foil Fender labels, and dates on the edges of the frames from the 39th week of’75. Both the head and cab retain their original tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth, with the earlier turquoise stripe on the head and orange stripe on the cabinet cloth. Filmosound open back 179 vintage style project. Empty unfinished open back pine head. Cabinet is 16” wide x 9” tall x 7-1/4”deep. Chassis is not included. The front control is removable. These are sample photos similar to the cabinet you will recieve. Please let me know how you will be finishing this cabinet so I can make the proper space allowances for vynal covering , piping and grill fabric , or a natural finish and so forth. Please note : This cabinet will need further sanding and prep work prior to a natural finish. The vintage tube amp you see in the photos is not included. Is made of 1/2” birch plywood and the control. Opening is 8-1/4″ wide x 1-3/4” and sets back 5/16″. I take a lot of pride in every cabinet I build as you will see when you receive the cabinet. I do not stock any cabinets and I make them as the order comes in. I have fabricated thousands of cabinet and sell them all over the world. I do not have all the big overhead that these big companys have , thus I pass the savings on to you. All the cabinets I build are fabricated in my shop , one at a time , out of 3/4 pine that I select and assembled using strong beautiful halfblind dovetail glued joinery. On this cabinet , the front panel is made of 1/2 baltic birch. I then router the exterior corners so you can easily install standard corner protectors if you so choice. You are looking at a Fender Bandmaster Head and cabinet from 1962. Not even caps have been changed to my knowledge. When we opened the cabinet to take pictures it was clear that we were the first to do so. WE didn’t open up the head, but, based on conversations with the previous owner we felt it better to not do so. His back story would confirm that it has never been worked on. It is also safe to say that it hasn’t been played much in the last couple of decades. We did though, and, it sounds beautiful. All original from 1962, original Jensen speakers. Check out the video. Offering a Vintage Naval or Aircraft Communications Rack Mount Cabinet. Perfect for all of your rack mountable audio or equipment. I suspect this unit originally housed Naval or aircraft Communications equipment or something of that nature. The unit is made entirely of High Quality aluminum. It is heavily braced and reinforced yet it is extremely lightweight for it’s size. Features flaps or doors that cover the front mounting hardware. This unit is not marked with a manufacture but the twist lock knobs on the front are marked “Dzus X-486″ and the inside of each hardware flap is marked ” AN257-5 “. I believe the “An257-5″ may refer to a military communications radio model #. Overall condition is decent it shows some heavy wear from use but it is fully functioning and very solid. Mostly the wear is to the paint or finish but there is also a medium size dent on the lower right side and the handle is missing form the right side. Comes as pictured without mounting hardware. Check the pictures for a more info. Measures 22″ W x 43″ H x 18 D. Fits standard 19 rack mount gear. The unit is large and is considered a oversize 3 package. Up for sale, a 1969 Fender Bassman head with accompanying tall 2×12 speaker cabinet in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This fully serviced vintage Fender head has transitional “drip edge” aluminum trim and an early Silverface faceplate. Recently retubed and biased with a pair of Tung Sol 6L6 power tubes, the circuit has been “Blackfaced” and reverted to the original and most revered AA864 design. The amp has a clear, powerful Fender tone that’s ideal for use with guitar or bass. The perfect platform for players who use a variety of pedals, the Bassman delivers a robust and dynamic tone, and after around 5 on the Volume dial the amp starts to push into smooth, lightly compressed tube overdrive. The circuit features the original power transformer and choke produced by Fender’s primary vintage transformer supplier, Schumacher, while the output transformer is a vintage-spec replacement, also Fender-branded and produced by Schumacher. The circuit features a professional recap of the power supply with new Sprague Atoms, as well as a new bias capacitor and a few new caps in the preamp to ensure everything is operating within original factory spec. All of the original CTS pots are intact, dating as far back as early’68. A three-prong power cable has been installed as well. The chassis itself is quite clean, with a stunning Silverface faceplate, turquoise lettering, and original black witch hat knobs. The original tube chart is also present inside the head cabinet. The cabinet is loaded with the original pair of Utah-made Fender-branded speakers with immaculate black frames, original cones, and clean orange and silver foil labels on the ceramic magnets. The cab is 100% stock and sounds great, perfectly amplifying the bold, round cleans and smooth drive of the Blackfaced AA864 Bassman circuit. The original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth with turquoise stripe are intact on the head as well. The stock corners, handle caps, and sphinx glides (feet) are also intact. The piggyback clip bars are present too, but do not connect to this vertical cab configuration. Cosmetically, the head and cab show some minor scuffs and edge wear, but as the photos can attest, this vintage Fender presents very well. Freshly retubed and recapped and reverted to the coveted AA864 Bassman circuit, this vintage Bassman head and 2×12 cab delivers the goods in an imposing, gig-worthy package.
