Amp works just as it should. Nice and warm Scott sound. Wood case is brand new as I made it myself for this amp. Fits perfect just as it should. Metal top is 14 gauge stainless steel mesh sheet so it is ridiculously strong, sturdy and overbuilt. Wood is 3/4 oak mdf with gunstock finish and two coats of poly satin to match the original period color. Amp comes with full complement of tubes. Russian 6p14p-ev subbed in for 7189 as equivalents. These are highly regarded tubes that will stand up to the higher current compared to el84s. Much of the lettering on the back of the amp is worn off. This amp could use a good cleaning and at some point will prob need cap work. It has always worked perfect for me so I never changed anything. The writing seen in the pics around the tube sockets is not etched into the metal, it is pencil and can be cleaned off. I got the amp this way and just never cleaned it off. 1873 Colt SA 45 1st Generation C. Vintage Seymour Duncan Convertible 100 Tube Amplifier Head With Custom Anvil Flight, ATA, Road, Rackmount Case. This was bought at an estate. We tested it and it functions fine. What ever imperfections are as-is. As I said: As-is. Seymour Duncan Convertible 100 Tube Amplifier Head With Custom Anvil Flight, ATA, Road, Rackmount Case show contact info The overall condition of the amp is pretty good. There is some light scuffing and scratching and tarnishing of the chassis mounting hardware. There doesn’t appear to be any heavy wear or tear. TThe face plate is not flat. Here’s a bit of dust and grime, nothing a damp rag won’t take care of. This a 100 watt, all tube combo with interchangeable pre amp tube module to shape and alter the tonality and power of the amplifier. It’s kind of a killer precursor to today’s modeling amplifiers, albeit, an all tube modeler. There seems to be an assortment of older type tubes sending 100 watts of power to a Seymour Duncan designed 12 ohm speaker. Other killer features include an effects loop, variable damping, reverb, pentode/triode mode and a built in attenuator system that takes the amp from 5 watts to 100 watts. Tonally, this one is pure beast! It has a big, mountainous tone! Smooth, round, fat clean tone. Massive, room filling power and projection. The gain and overdrive on this a very reminiscent of a vintage Mesa Boogie, very creamy and syrupy sounding! Here is a wonderful opportunity to own a unique and versatile amp! Vintage 1960′s Sears/Silvertone Model #1457 RED SPARKLE GUITAR TUBE AMP IN CASE. Rare Sears/Silvertone/Dandelectro sparkle red double cutaway with twin lipstick pickups, with built in (working amp) in case. ONLY issue is the common headstock split along the length of the tuners (please see pics). The crack HASNT made its way all the way through the front of the headstock, so a pretty seamless glue repair would be pretty easy to do for a repairman or someone with a little more skill than I possess. Because of the headstock issue, the guitar has not been re-strung with new strings. The amp was tested with a different guitar, and seems to work fine. A seldom seen guitar with a pretty simple repair AND you get an amp to boot. Sorry, I dont have the original foot switch. But I will include what I believe to be the original leather strap.
