1959 Fender Champ Tweed Vintage Tube Amplifier Pre-CBS Class A 5F1 Circuit

Up for sale, a 1959 Fender Champ in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Simple, elegant and clean enough to satisfy collectors and serious players alike, this vintage Champ boasts its original lacquered tweed and hallowed 5F1 circuit. It doesn’t get much more pure than the Champ, and this studio favorite delivers freakishly dynamic and glassy pure tube tone that can go from clean to fully saturated overdrive with a twist of the single knob. This particular Champ has been well cared for over the decades and is stocked with the original Oxford 8 speaker. The circuit has been serviced and professionally recapped, and the preamp is untouched with original yellow Astron tone capacitors. Both transformers are original, and the chassis itself boasts a chrome faceplate with all of the original white lettering stock chicken head knob too! , despite some surface pitting. The original Stackpole pot dates to the 19th week of 1959, and the Oxford speaker dates to the 35th week of the same year. The tubes are all vintage valves including a Sylvania 6V6 power tube. Cosmetically, the original lacquered tweed shows some minor scuffs and a touch wear around the corners, but overally the tweed looks particularly great and uniformly ambered, with original nailed in feet and even the original leather handle! Both back panels are original as well as the baffle, which retains the original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe. This Champ is cool as can be with a well maintained circuit, Oxford speaker, fresh tubes and stock lacquered tweed covering. Don’t miss out! Up for sale, a 1956 Fender Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Few circuits are more desired and emulated than the narrow panel Tweed 5E3, and this amp delivers everything you’d expect from a classic and well cared for amp from the last iteration of the Tweed line. Incredibly dynamic and harmonically rich, the Deluxe can be glassy and clear at low volumes, but for most players the magic is in this amp’s overdrive capabilities. Especially when connecting the two channels with a small jumper 1/4 cable, the interactive pair of Volume controls can dial in everything from fully saturated roar and snarl, to the particular sweet buzzy qualities with ideal midrange bite that you often times can’t coax out of any other Tweed circuit. This amp reacts well to a host of effects pedals and different guitars, but truly shines with the guitar plugged straight into the amp, using your volume knob to coax clean rhythm tones and singing leads with the twist of a knob. The circuit is very original and only maintained as strictly necessary, balancing originality and functionality. The preamp features original Stackpole pots and carbon comp resistors, as well as all of the original yellow Astron tone caps. The power amp has been professionally recapped as well, and the new caps have been sleeved in the original Mighty Midget wrappers for a seamless vintage look. Both of the original transformers are intact, and the amp is loaded with a full compliment of vintage tubes including a matched pair of Sylvania 6V6s and General Electric and Amperex valves in the preamp. The speaker is a genuine, era-correct Jensen P12R alnico 12 speaker with an immaculate teal frame and Jensen sticker. This speaker dates back to 1958, and retains the original speaker harness with cloth covered wire and stock 1/4 input as well. The other most pertinent date code is the “FH” stamp on the very clean tube chart, which translates to August of’56. The chrome on the chassis is incredibly clean, shining like few Tweeds still do with all of the original white text present along with stock chicken head knobs. In similar condition, the original tweed and oxblood grillcloth show only light wear on the edges of the enclosure, with ambering of the lacquer on the tweed, and some requisite minor scuffs and corner wear. The leather handle is a modern replacement as is the upper back panel, while the lower back panel is original. It’s an example that will satisfy collectors and serious players alike, and the amp has recently been given a clean bill of health, ready for your next gig or studio session. Check out our shop “Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, ” and please let us know if we can answer any questions! 1970 Fender Deluxe Reverb Vintage Silverface Tube Amp AB763 Circuit with ftsw

Up for sale, a 1970 Fender Deluxe Reverb in excellent condition and in perfect working order. With a very original AB763 circuit, stock Oxford speaker, and clean cosmetic appearance, this Deluxe comes from very early in the amp’s Silverface run and matches up closely with earlier Blackface specs. The amp boasts a fresh pair of Electro Harmonics 6V6 power tubes and a host of original RCA preamp tubes as well. This amp excels at delivering sparkling, detailed cleans with great headroom, and the lush reverb accentuates the chiming, smooth treble response. Both channels sound distinct and strong, and turning things up past 5 on the volume dial introduces glassy overdriven textures and a touch of compression. It’s everything you could want from a vintage Fender amp. The circuit is clean and original, with original Schumacher transformers that date to late 1969 and very early 1970. The CTS pots date to’70 as well, along with the original Oxford 12L6 speaker. The speaker has a clean black frame, blue foil Fender label on the ceramic magnet, and the original speaker cone. The tube chart is intact on the inside of the cabinet as well. Also of note is the original screwed-in baffle which matches Blackface specs (replaced soon after by a less desirable glued-in and thicker baffle). Cosmetically, this amp is quite clean overall, with original smooth black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth. This grillcloth has the turquoise stripe in the thread common for Fender in the early’70s and shows a bit of aging while still presenting well. Both back panels are original and the faceplate is quite clean with original witch hat knobs. The original two-button footswitch is included.
